Ilya B Thanks a housand for recording John Stone at 6:40. I wrote him a letter in the early 90s AND HE REPLIED. Unfortunately, he had a stroke in January 2000 and died in August 2017.
We are indebted to the BBC for its World news service. Especially the pips giving the correct time. I remember back in the 70's and 80's, my watchmaker had a little short wave radio to aid him in adjusting his clocks and watches. I particularly admired Pamela Creighton's impeccable voice and pronounciation. However, I was always wondering where the opening galant theme prior to the pips comes from. Is there someone who knows?
