My dad, a vet, taught me situational awareness. Every time we were on a freeway he had me call out mile markers and what I was seeing. Good girl dad for sure.
The mile marker is something that you need to pay attention to even on highways and county roads if marked, on highways keep track of the county your in to. As the highway can or will have multiple mile markers that are the same but different county.

EMT student here... 911 knows exactly where you are when you call. They can track your smartphone frighteningly easily. So keeping mile markers in mind is good, but EMS and LE will be able to pin the ao within meters when you call them

(It seems to me that this is a very lost skill - situational awareness - because of the high tech provided in the latest models of cars, so that drivers are not even fully driving (not just talking about the 'auto-driven' ones, or 'self-driving' ones). Also, drugs, yes even the Rx ones, can play into this stupidly.
I have been trained in counter-ambush procedures and when shot at on the freeway I hope that my training will kick in--drive out of the ambush zone right now! Keep moving. Stationary cars are bullet magnets and provide little more than temporary concealment. I won't have a designated gunner with a pintle-mounted belt-fed machine gun like in my younger days, but moving targets are harder to hit. The lead to hit a speeding car at a quarter mile distance is long, and that's only one factor. I'm one of the few people who pay attention to freeway mile markers, and back that up with my trip meter and use both paper maps and GPS to figure out "where the hell am I?" What was the last off-ramp? What's the next? My scheduled fuel stops and rest breaks figure into my updated location, and I have alternate routes planned in case of unanticipated events (construction, vehicle accidents, road closures, criminal activity, and even mechanical breakdown). More than once I have had a tire blow out and was able to make a safer stop to change tires or get repaired than if I has simply stopped on the freeway shoulder.

Aircraft of the period had a severe handicap--lack of wireless communications--there were workarounds. Modern warfare is most successful when the right mix of combined arms produces a synergetic force multiplier effect.

The Daniel Boone is is treacherous terrain, been my yearly hunting grounds since i was a child. Steep river gorges, caves, sinkholes, swamps, and the Rockastle river. If he's deceased, yotes and bears will disappear the remains quickly. On the otherside one with good survival/bushcraft skills could thrive holed up in a rockshelter tucked away on a steep mountainside miles away from civilization. Tough search!

Yea, if u don’t call 911 and call non-emergency they can’t. They can’t always pull your location via 911. Also, dispatches job is to get LEOs the most info possible about ANY situation. They aren’t trying to entrap u over an accident.

I had some family that were 911 dispatch. Today with all the phones(especially APPL),GPS,they can always track your phone.

I remember at the time I was so shocked that they showed up without me saying a word. I couldn't of been much older than 6. Haha I answered the door, and off the top of my head remember saying that my younger sister accidentally dialed. Then said my dad wouldn't wake up. He was napping on the couch....about that time he woke up 😆 Got a little woopin, and never did that again. Even though I was so young, that moment had an impact on how I seen things. I had more of a sense that things are controlled, and information was public.

As a firefighter, not only have I gotten in the habit of paying attention to mile markers, but it’s also a good idea to provide direction of travel too, such as inbound or outbound (near urban areas), or East or West bound. Sometimes, as is the case here in Pittsburgh, entirely different units will respond depending on which side of the Interstate the incident is on.
The cops in Pittsburgh are incredibly corrupt from all accounts I have heard. There was a group of them eating at some place I stopped by at, and they looked like they all had done extensive prison time (I know they didn't, they just looked like that) and gave psychopathic murderer vibes. Compared to cops in other places I have been, they def seemed like predators.

EMT student here... 911 knows exactly where you are when you call. They can track your smartphone frighteningly easily. So keeping mile markers in mind is good, but EMS and LE will be able to pin the ao within meters when you call them
This is a good comment, thank you. Others have commented similarly. I think the idea of tracking your mile-markers these days just give us a simple way to keep our 'situational awareness'. (It seems to me that this is a very lost skill - situational awareness - because of the high tech provided in the latest models of cars, so that drivers are not even fully driving (not just talking about the 'auto-driven' ones, or 'self-driving' ones). Also, drugs, yes even the Rx ones, can play into this stupidly.

I have been trained in counter-ambush procedures and when shot at on the freeway I hope that my training will kick in--drive out of the ambush zone right now! Keep moving. Stationary cars are bullet magnets and provide little more than temporary concealment. I won't have a designated gunner with a pintle-mounted belt-fed machine gun like in my younger days, but moving targets are harder to hit. The lead to hit a speeding car at a quarter mile distance is long, and that's only one factor.
I'm one of the few people who pay attention to freeway mile markers, and back that up with my trip meter and use both paper maps and GPS to figure out "where the hell am I?" What was the last off-ramp? What's the next? My scheduled fuel stops and rest breaks figure into my updated location, and I have alternate routes planned in case of unanticipated events (construction, vehicle accidents, road closures, criminal activity, and even mechanical breakdown). More than once I have had a tire blow out and was able to make a safer stop to change tires or get repaired than if I has simply stopped on the freeway shoulder.

The School bomb threats are a result of a TikTok Dare, kids call in the threat so that the can get out of school early. This has been confirmed threw a family member that is employed at a school that received a bomb threat. However, things are not always as they seem. Stay Frosty!

Silly question, but why does everybody need to reinvent the combined arms wheel? Combined arms tactics has been the most successful strategy for several centuries. Engineers, artillery (in the old days, engineers and artillery were the same thing). infantry, cavalry, now air power--use any single arm and sometimes you win, sometimes you flee to avoid defeat, sometimes the enemy cleans your clock. The first use of tanks drove this home on 15 September 1916--the tanks, artillery, infantry and engineers had to be used in close concert. Cavalry was difficult to use well on the Western Front because trench warfare is siege craft, and tanks were not very useful in the wide-open spaces of the Great War's Russian Front. Aircraft of the period had a severe handicap--lack of wireless communications--there were workarounds.
Modern warfare is most successful when the right mix of combined arms produces a synergetic force multiplier effect.
His combined arms segment was kinda dumb. The Ukrainians don't have the resources to launch a major assault against the Russian front lines. Kursk was relatively undefended.
