They met in Boston for the first time. Fans spotted Babymetal and the rumor about a potential collab or feature existed on reddit for some time. In early May, Electric Callboy spoiled this collaboration and said they already composed a killer track for this collab and that's a collab with a band that is not from Germany and who can dance a lot better than they do.

I fortunately witnessed the live debut and the second performance of RATATATA by BABYMETAL and Electric Callboy together in the two-day Fox_Fest on May 25 / 26 in Japan. Fun, happy, exhilarating, bubbly... Those words I could think of, as you can imagine. There were many mosh / circle pits over there 😄. On Day-1, the girls and Nico / Kevin hugged each other (then group hug) to celebrate the success of the live debut (heartwarming!!) ★ You can find the official LIVE video in UA-cam !! The song was played in the BABYMETAL's setlist in the festival. So the band in the back of the girls and Nico / Kevin was BM's West Kami Band in place of EC band that played in this MV. They were both playing in Boston last year so BABYMETAL went to the Electric Callboy concert and met with them backstage and asked if they wanted to be part of it. The result (after a lot of back and forth between both bands and something like 20 versions) they ended up with this awesome 50-50 collaboration. BABYMETAL invited EC to play at the Fox_Fest events they were planning in Tokyo and after playing their own set Nico and Kevin came back to join BABYMETAL on stage during their set to perform this song live together. They did it again on the second night. It was there that the official live video was filmed ... and yes do another reaction to that. They have performed it at more festivals in Europe since then (together 4 times in Germany in both the EC and BABYMETAL sets and I believe they did it two more times yesterday or the day before in Spain) and both bands have been playing it without the other in their own concerts. Another band BABYMETAL invited to play at FoxFest was Polyphia from Texas and they performed their song 'Brand New Day' with the Polyphia guitarists Tim Henson and Scott LePage for the first time since it was recorded in 2019 - Tim and Scott recorded the original guitar tracks for the album recording. You have so much more BABYMETAL to discover ... and every song is different to the last. They are so versatile that they can collaborate with pretty much anybody else and fit in with whatever style.

Yes, itcwas a collab that most people had not expected. I was sure, if they want to do this they will find a way but where and how I expected Vabymetals new lichter style would help but i would have not expected that they go so deep into it. But I think this the sense of these collabs, they want to get the Flair of the other Babd and add their own Touch to it.
Electric Callboy is first and formost a metalcore band. They're not "techno and EDM". They're metal plus EDM and/or something else, like rap for example. You make them sound like they're just some DJs or MCs. lol
