Hollis, I love the start to finish videos you make! Please keep em coming.
Watching you take a bite and hearing the crunch, WOW that's a crispy cuke! Great video as always!
Your video's are unique in that they show the entire process along with useful planting tips, and fertiization schedule. Your lovely wife Nancy is a true blessing to you, and I don't know what a man would do without a good gardening dog like Bing Bing. Thanks Hollis.
You are welcome Dave. Thank you for your kind words
Thanks Hollis & Nancy. Great how to video. God Bless you two and sweet Bing Bing. 💕from Ky.
Hey Bing Bing is looking good! Glad to see he is back to normal!
❤️🐶❤️
Beautiful cucumbers.
I love that Nancy's flowers moving in to the veggie garden more and more 😍❤️
Thank you so much for everything I have learned about cucumbers. Last spring, I learned how to ferment, and the pickles were unbelievable! Reminded me of childhood days when my grandmother would drag me down to the country store to help her carry the groceries back home, some 8 blocks away. The old man had a wooden barrel with dill pickles in it for a nickle (5 cents) each! That was my treat for helping her to carry all the groceries back to her house. I was amazed at the difference in taste, from processed pickles to fermented ones! I will never go back to processed pickles again. This year (spring 2023), I am going hog wild with five kinds of cucumbers! All but one are the "pickling" variety. I have dedicated 15 containers, just for cucumbers this season. We will see. Four plants in each container, well-spaced apart. Whih I could share the pictures here, but I guess I'll have to do that on your Facebook Page. :) Thank you again!
Magnificent videos, you and your family are very blessed and thank you for all you have done.
In my 3rd season from never planting a seed to 15x50 plot. Hollis, you have really made a difference in my garden. Each year has been a little more successful thanks to your videos. Still having a tough time with container potatoes here in Texas and that is supposed to be the easiest....but in time I will get it. Lets see how this year goes. Thanks again, God Bless.
You’ve got me thinking about crisp dill spears and sweet bread & butter chunks! That is a pretty cucumber!
Thank you☺️.. those are some beautiful cucumbers and that crunch?! Niiiice
Those cucumber look really good, would love to see some videos on how Nancy uses them in dishes. Y'all are awesome gardeners, I really like your videos, thanks 😊
Coming soon. Stay tuned❤️

Your Garden is beautiful. You sure put a lot of work into them. The place has come a long way since you started out there in Florida.
Always great videos. And great music
Drooling at taste test. Thanks for sharing 🙏 😎 🏖 🏝
So Peaceful…. And SO INFORMATIVE! Thank you and God Bless!!
Great crunch sound on that cucumber. I hope to grow a couple of plants this year. I'm the only one that eats cucumbers so I won't need many plants. Thank you for your very good instructional videos. I have learned a lot from them. Stay Safe and have a Blessed day.
This was a great video. I loved that little giggle when you cut the cucumber. Thanks for sharing. i enjoyed it.
I loved watching that. I can’t wait to get cukes in the ground! We only need four plants to keep my wife and I happy!
God bless
Klaus
I heard that crunch from my home at WA state. Sounds delicious! May God continue to bless you and Nancy! Thank you for your videos.
❤️
We picked our first two Unagi cucumbers today... Thank you for your guidance.
Thank you very much for sharing your experience 🙏😇🙏 we love cucumbers 🥒 and can’t wait to start our garden this summer 😃
I know it was a real sacrifice to do the taste test, but someone had to do it! 😂 I love the cattle panel trellis, I want to use them too. The plants are so healthy looking. Powdered mildew is hard. But you do so well! Thanks for sharing!!!
I hope you appreciate the sacrifice I had to make to taste that thing😂
Beautiful video! Thank you HN&BB (and mama!)
Nice music. From Ontario Canada
Can’t wait to see how they grow’
Always a pleasure to watch.

🫑🍅🐝☀️🌺👨🌾 🥕🐇🌷🌹🦋Thank you for sharing Watching cucumbers grow is so fun. I just love to see how they vine and bloom. All the hard work is worth it to me to get to see the new growth everyday it brings me so much joy! Your garden is inspiring! I appreciate your tips, tricks and advice! I look forward to learning more from each other as we grow!
Does Nancy do anything special when it comes to preserving them? Last year I took some, peeled them, pureed them and froze in ice cube trays and would put a cube in my smoothie. So refreshing! I just didn't know if there was anything special she did? I'm also going to look to see if I can see if she has any videos of recipes using them. Thanks for the tip about cucumber plant leaves not liking to get wet. I'll definitely be more careful with that this year.
Thank you for the great information love your video s!
Yummy yummy, love it.
Which zone in FL are you guys at? I'm in central FL, 9B, so I have recently been trying to follow your planting schedules. The "cool" and "heating" seasons are sporadic around here, so it gets a bit tough sometimes to nail the timing down.
I love the time lapse videos you guys put up by the way. Easily one of the best gardening channels for me. I truly appreciate the time you guys take to make them. God bless!
Me too, I just wish they’d put the dates on all their videos and just some.
I love all their videos
Oh boy that looks good
I love Black Kow! Great Poop!
Great video thanks for sharing
If you don't have a whole fish to put in the bottom, what else can you use? We are newbie garden growers. Just started in November. Learning a lot from your videos! Thank you both for what you share with us!
always great videos. thank you.
I grow English cues
Live in great Britain
But will try your ones
When l can get the seeds
Thank you x😍😍😍
I loved the taste test. Do that on every video!!
Brother Hollis, can I use the fish also just planting regular pickling cucumbers? Enjoy all your videos, still learning due to your videos I've gotten a lot better with using some of your methods.
This is a great video!!!
That row of cucumbers looks like love 🥒🌻❤
I wonder... my cats don't always finish their wet food. It goes into our bokashi usually, but wonder if I can use it like you use the fish and simply just direclty throw a bit of it into the hole.
I like seeds Thank you I thought you should be able to trellis cucumbers just did not know how
I literally said “yum” when you cut open that cucumber.
It’s a tasty variety ❤️🥒🥒🥒🥒
Excellent video!! Can't wait to plant cucumbers this year. Do you have a planner that tells when to plant different veggies? I know there are lots of them out there, but I'd like to get yours if you have them! We live in Tallahassee area...
Great video
Will you please do a cookbook or recipe download Nancy? 🙏🏻🙏🏻
I used food grade 3% peroxide on the powder mildew. It seems to work so far.
I hope to find these seeds. Thanks for sharing.
I would like to see a video on how to keep the mold off of all your plants I have grown squash where they were covered with mold
What if you don’t have fish? Is there something else to use that will have similar results?
Also did you just start the seeds and after hardening plant in the ground or did you put them in a larger pot before moving to garden?
Would it help the powdery mildew if you mulched the plants?
Great video. Miss Nancy, are these type of cucumbers good for making pickles? Last year I grew a variety that was not recommended for pickles, and I wanted to check on these.
Hi i have a question do we need to fertilizer the cucumbers during the growing staged or is the fish supposed to be the fertilizer?
Nice! I wonder if there are any tropical cucumbers?
What do u use for the powdery milk or any suggestion on spider mites and aphids?
Do you get any pests? Cucumbers beetles got me last year!
Greetings Mr Hollis & Nancy. Was wondering is it ok if the fish is frozen when dropping in the hole for fertilizing? Love your vids.
Yes, we do it all the time
Hello great video. Could you grow cucumbers okra and tomatoes in a kid pool or 5 gallon bucket or the cow totes.
Hollis is that black cow already broke down and can you plant in it without mixing with soil?
Always enjoy your videos. Your cucumbers 🥒 looks delicious 😋 I’m planting a garden this year hope I will have some success 😊
We planted some burpless cucumbers. Had one, our first one, was about 12-15 inches long, really green, thought it was ready but when we picked it and cut it open, it had a really bitter taste to it. Not sire why. Still have others growing so will see how they do. Hopefully they will be good. What is the best way to determine when they are ready?
Harvest them at about 8” long. When you let them grow too big they become bitter.
Nice video. Would these be more of a slicer? Possibly good for making relish?
TYFS, Mark n Rosa
Is this variety good for making pickles?
Are you using fencing or cattle panels for trellis
Miss Nancy would you happen to know if these cucumbers are good for pickling
I ferment mine and it’s delicious. It stays very crispy
With cucs it's about how much u want with us we can direct sow in May and well grow enough to have your fill.
So how? Did they prune them? Where on the stem? Nodules etc.? Some of us are real newbys 😊 I'm going to try these in my garden you started in March? N ended in April? Because it's too hot in summer?
Do u also plant flowers near ur beds for the to help produce ur crops?
Love all the UA-cam videos you both make. Crazy question. I have never grown sweet corn and I have seen it in the back ground of other videos. Do you already have a video on that ?or could you make one. Thanks.
We will be releasing a 3-Part Mini-Series on how to grow sweet corn this week as follows:
Part 1 - Thursday (3/10/22) at 6:00pm
Part 2 - Saturday (3/12/22) at Noon
Part 3 - Sunday (3/13/22) at 4:00pm
Hope our videos help you. Best of luck to you with your sweet corn this spring 🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽🌽
I love your videos, especially now that you are in Florida and have so much more room to plant and grow. I do wonder what do you do with all the vegetables that you grow? Do you go to farmer's markets or sell to grocery stores? I mean, you can only eat so many cucumbers yourself.
LOL. That is true😂. Nancy freezes some, we share with family and neighbors and with the local soup kitchen
what about the boston pickling type for doing pickles ?
Do you use anything to treat the powdery mildew? I’ve always struggled with that with both cucumbers and zucchini.
Mix a tablespoon of baking soda with 1/2 teaspoon of liquid dish soap in one gallon of water and spray plants. I usually remove any infected leaves and throw them in the burn pit
@@HollisNancysHomestead is Neem oil added to that mix a good idea or not?
Are these similar to Tokiwa cucumbers? These are my favorite cucs.
I have a question. Why are your trellis beds so far from each other? I mean, is there a reason or just for aesthetic purposes? (P.S. I love your videos!)
Ski we can get lawnmower and Kubota thru it
what do you use on your cucumber for powdery mildew, I loss all of my cucumber to it last year. Please help. I live in Florida in 9B
Thank you Kate for all you do.
ua-cam.com/video/cnb1iKqbfAk/v-deo.html
I use one tablespoon of Baking Soda in one gallon of water and spray plants. Prune up your plants as shown in the video I attached for you
Nancy and her Mom should make a cucumber cookbook and you can offer it for a price on your channel. I can see it now, "Cookbooks for gardeners!"
I SECOND THISSS
Potassium bicarbonate spray works good for mildew
Ok, crappie heads, bone meal and blood meal at the time of planting will be all the fertilizer these plants will need for the life of the plant?? I do a little hydroponic, rain gutter grow bags and in the dirt. Just wanting to experiment with different types and having pretty good results. Now I want to go your route on a few tomatoes, peppers and cukes. Gonna give it a shot.
Yes it is enough for the life of the plant
Do you fertilize in between growing and harvest and if so how often? Thank you 😊
how would i go about growing cucumber in buckets?
We live in the south in Alabama
Are you leaving outside or using grow lights?
