To all the "kids" that love Stevie but question her sobriety... We who are 50 and older have seen her live... from the beginning... yes, if Stevie ever forgot the lyrics or the verses or the chorus or lost her place in the song it absolutely was because she was intoxicated on stage. She herself has confirmed that. That's how live rock stars performed in the 70's / 80's. Now Stevie is always sober on stage. She never misses a note or lyric. That confirms her as a quintessential professional.
Don’t give damn what she did or didn’t do. Drugs or anything else. She was, is and will remain the Queen of Rock. Been a fan since early 70’s, that’s when I knew of her. Yep, I’m that old. There will never be another Stevie Nicks.
The sweet sister of Rock'n'Roll. Every performance is surprise. It's like how awesome has this woman been? Love the '79 version of Angel in St. Louis. I can't help it...I'm still madly in love with this woman to this day.
Douglass Kirby, agree, the 1979 Version of Angel in St. Louis is one of the best performances of her & Lindsey. Heck the whole band was having a ball on that one. Great to Watch!
These concerts were magical. Rapt attention to the artist, the band, the musicians playing the notes and riffs that you knew from the record but interpreted live, the first song being the real soundcheck, being tweaked as the night went on, backup singers recreating and maintaining the magic, taking you on a new journey. Living and breathing humans. Thank you Stevie for making magic.
I was here too and I also was uh fueled. Weren't we all. She could have read from Winnie the Pooh and it would have made sense to me as long as my Angel sang with that gorgeous heaven sent voice of hers!
tim hockema Stevie is awesome. Dreams is great, edge of 17 & standback are my favorites. Outside the rain is good too, hell its hard to pick a favorite.
Was this the one where she stopped the show because people rushed the stage and Joe Walsh came back on and told everyone to calm down? I think it was wild Heart tour. A bunch of us from Moore High on acid
Of course but I can give you a few examples. When I saw her in Pittsburgh in 1983 she babbled about how a woman is allowed to be totally fickeled. Its cute but unusual concert speak. In Iowa she said something like "I have no idea where I am but the air is so nice" I think these off the cuff marks are cute but sometimes she would go on and I dont think many knew what she was talking about. At the US Festival she talked about girl scout cookies. I miss this crazy and wild Stevie :)
A Stevie Nicks 20.1.22 Marina Assanti
I have this entire show on tape. I also saw several stops of this tour LIVE. Between songs she would babble about stuff that no one knew what she was talking about. It was cute and funny. Check out the FULL concerts and times between songs and not just the youtube songs. This was the cocaine days. She does not do this now or anytime after 1986.
One thing is for damn sure-she wasn't lip synching (or "miming") any of her hits the way many bands do today...When she screwed up the words to her own music live on stage, that was a sure gauge of her sincerity as a true vocalist dedicated to her art...High or not.
This was the beginning of the end because she got together with Walsh on the tour in November AND THEN IT WAS ON!!!!!!!! Huge piles of blow and both of them such heavy users. As she even said ''Like being swept up by the prince on the white horse'' And I didn't want to give up the white horse''.
This was probably filmed for commercial release since her 1981 solo and the 1982 Mac shows were a big success. However, the drugs made Stevie look silly in her babbles so alot of live footage from the mid 80s to early 90s was filmed and not released.
You are half right. Roy Briton played piano on this tour but Benmont did play keyboards on this tour. I was there and she got a BIG kick out of introducing him as the "Heartbreaker." If you research the players on the Wild Heart tour, you will see him as credit. In those days, it was not unusual to have 2 keyboard players on stage.
Well, being a fan, I guess I didn't say right off the bat that I TOO had her concerts (they were on VHS) and I never thought that she was "babbling." If there were any "occasions" where she did say something I didn't understand, I just assumed it was between her & her band, and didn't give it much thought. I wasn't part of her entourage so how would I know? Were you? I suppose one can have different ideas on what "babbling" is...and that's ok.. U have your idea of "babbling" and I have mine.
@@ms.felonystrutter2472She's doing a great job here. This is live, NOT studio version where you hear yourself clearly or do different kind of takes! Most of live performances aren't perfect and she still is singing great here!

yeahh its good shes thin here i dont know why they released red rocks as a dvd they should have done the bella donna concert that was on video for a lil while and on t.v or one from this tour she looked to stuffed on the rock a little tour beside the close ups hahaha ... and i think she looks good early 80's even here the only thing here is her hair and i think her hair look better a lil bit darker and not so curly like on the bella donna oconcert but maybe a bit darker like in the 70's
well....... if as you indicate it was "drug induced" then if she continued to be this person (fueled by drugs) then she wouldn't be here with us anymore. So, I guess I just like her for whomever she is..... she needed to get clean and leave the coke & klonopin alone. It was destroying her.

Amen!
Yep I'm that old too. Loved Stevie then, now and forever!
How many of us were high in 70 and 80 no big deal love Stevie all these years ❤❤
she chooses to change the words to how she feels at that moment, she has many different versions of all of her songs

I love her allure and her great voice.
Dreams is probably the best song ever made.
All of Stevie's Song's are Magnificent Works of Art.
Dreams is certainly the greatest love song in the entire history of the universe. Stevie rocked. Still does.
tim hockema Damn near it-that's for sure.

Roy Bittan - long time member of the E-Street Band, and a Stevie regular!
This was probably filmed for commercial release since her 1981 solo and the 1982 Mac shows were a big success. However, the drugs made Stevie look silly in her babbles so alot of live footage from the mid 80s to early 90s was filmed and not released.
VOICE of the ANGEL FACE of HEAVEN
Salute !
Yes, they did that for the '85 "Live at Red Rocks" show, didn't they!
❤❤❤❤
Bittan played piano & electric piano. Tench played the B3. They both toured with Nicks in 1981 & 1983.
You are half right. Roy Briton played piano on this tour but Benmont did play keyboards on this tour. I was there and she got a BIG kick out of introducing him as the "Heartbreaker." What was this filmed for? Is it available commercially?
❤🎉😊
I think Bob Glaub is the bass player too, for the lineup :)
Filmed for marketing & publicity. Bits of it were used in TV interviews on MTV & elsewhere.
What do you mean by her "babbles?" I hear her speaking to her audience (which MANY MANY artists do) but she isn't "babbling."
Well, being a fan, I guess I didn't say right off the bat that I TOO had her concerts (they were on VHS) and I never thought that she was "babbling." She is horrible between songs and it has NOTHING to do with her being high, if anything being high was a bonus.

Why were their concerts mostly dark? Was it the drugs?
Pain of divorce was at this time and Robin died about 1 year prior to this performance.
