About Dean Schneider:
I am a 27-year old Swiss guy, who dedicated his entire life to the animal world! Nowadays, I live in Africa, I am a member of a lion pride, my wife is a hyena and I’m a daddy of two monkeys. Besides that, I have built a global voice for our planet’s wildlife over the past two years!
Born in Switzerland (Zurich) on October 3, 1992, I was blessed to grow up in a loving family with my sister (one year older) and my parents, who were always very supportive and loving. My mother is originally from the Balkan region (Southeastern Europe), while my dad is a Swiss citizen. I discovered my deep passion for wildlife at the age of six or seven, through the legendary Steve Irwin! He was the one who brought wildlife into my living room in Zurich and inspired and educated me about all kinds of different animal species.
Even though I was so passionate about animals, I originally followed a very ordinary path to adulthood, eventually ending up in the finance industry as a financial advisor. After a very successful year, I decided to found my own company, which then, over the next three years, allowed me to generate the financial foundation to launch the Hakuna Mipaka project at the age of 23-24.
After starting my life in South Africa additional financial support form my Family allowed me to evolve and develop the Hakuna Mipaka Oasis for 2 Years without having to depend on any income sources such as offering touristic visits / programs, breeding or trading of animals, donations or any other monetary businesses!
About Hakuna Mipaka:
The Hakuna Mipaka Oasis is located on around 400 hectares (four million square meters) in the wilderness of South Africa! It is home to thousands of different wild animal species! Besides that, the oasis also serves as a life-long home to a few rescued wild animals, which were born in captivity! We also do rehabilitation programs with different animals, which are then being released back into the wild.
The Hakuna Mipaka Oasis is my personal home and a private sanctuary that is NOT open to the public. We don’t cater to tourists and don’t allow any day visits or animal activities! We don’t breed animals and we are also not trading animals. I built this place for animals and not for humans. The Hakuna Mipaka oasis is a secure, wild & lifelong home to the animals that live here.

Dean is such a likable person I don’t understand people who take things out of context and make up fake news.
To build themselves up at Dean's expense. Just look at the youtube drama scene, it's all people trying to 1 up the next guy for some take he had years ago. In the end, feel bad for these types as they will never be happy. They can't help but tear down anything that will let them get their heads a little above water for a minute. Think of them like a drowning person and Dean as their rescuer. People like Dean show the roadmap to success and come to lend a hand and rather than take it, they only know to grab and try to drag him under. Feeling allegorical tonight, I guess.

@@anthony6451 you think a lions life in wild is easy? Watch a few documentaries on wild lions. Those rescue lions are lucky to get food and affection without constantly fighting for survival. Insight : wild lions go hungry for weeks if their hunt fails, a little injury is life threatening, cubs survival is hard if spotted by other wild animals or male lions, male lions survival is harder cause they have to abandon their pride once matured and compete with other male lions. And such rescues won't stand a month in the wild.

And it's not just about them being upset, you have to realise. If Dean would not react or protect himself when he gets clawed, he would get injured every single time with those lions, because what for humans is a claw in the skin, for lions is a tickle on their fur and thick skins. Perhaps there are even nicer ways to approach and grow up with lions. We are all looking forward to non-aggression between species I suppose... but he is doing way better than other experts in his field who would never dare establish such bonds with wild felines in open fields.

Nayla is aggressive when it comes to Dean, he's her King. She doesn't play when it comes to him. Snow and Dexter. When they see Dean they run and jump into his arms. Which shows the relationship. He raises them since they were babys. When they see him and jump in his arms, they don't realize how big they are now, and if at all they accidentally hurt him, they give him kisses😊

This happened to me also when I tried to have a resume. The person doing it was taking money from the rich friends and depending on them selves. Making me look bad because I tried to tell them where there money was really going. It really effected my life. To tell the truth you get punished. It is a sad world today. As someone who is well knowledgeable in the animal language, I can see Dean is very obviously genuine and cares deeply for his animals. No animal in this world would give such affection if they were mistreated.

@rose There are only around 20,000 left in the whole world and they are still being illegally poached a lion is a strong animal but a bullet is still going to go through their heads it isn't like their hunting them with swords and spears and like I said they probably wouldn't even have been born in the wild due to lack of resources and food for lions to live on and poachers illegally hunting them either for sport or for traditional medicines.

I started watching this safaris and following you and just seeing the way these lions interact with you is absolutely amazing because I don't know if anybody else can tell but I look at these lions and it seems like they are interacting with you like human beings. They know how much you love them, I've never seen an animal look that lovingly at a human being before. And I also want to say something else you couldn't be safer anywhere else in the world than where you are right there with them beautiful lions. And all the people that want to say something negative about you let them come around you and your lions and say it. The three paw smacks is literally what another lion would do. A simple nip, or a light smack just means: Don’t do that again. Like when a cat scratches you when you’re petting it. It’s saying: don’t do that, I don’t like that. Then you leave it alone. She obviously understood, because she didn’t do it again. These are LIONS, he needs to show strength. He can’t just be meek and let himself get hurt, because that can give Nayla confidence. It can tell her that she can fight with him like the the other lions do. Then he would get ripped to shreds. He’s like every member in the pride, showing affection, but also authority.
