Batman Fans REJECT Scott Snyder's Absolute Batman Comic!

- Опубліковано 8 лис 2024
- Scott Snyder has revealed more information about his Absolute Batman run and his take on the character, and it sounds cringe. With the marketing plan of calling these characters "Batman AF" when they do anything but resemble the versions of them that fans have known for almost a hundred years, why are they not just making these into new characters instead?

I'd be more intrigued if DC hadn't already attempted this many times before. In fact, i'm more excited about STARLIGHT CATS 2 instead! ⭐🐱
Yeah they shoulda stuck with Rebirth. These huge reboots every three years just killed any interest.
That small Head That SMALL Head THAT SMALL HEAD
Bitmin Fins are the rill dill.
oh cool, his cape is like spawn's cape. what a unique concept. I cant wait for all the unique stories.
Unless Gotham is overrun with 7’ hulking men, how do you not know Batman’s identity outside the costume??? Also the chest symbol is a deal breaker for me.
Even the covers for poor, roided-up Absolute Batman (Jim Lee variant cover is r-tarded too) are just C-tier. It's almost like DC and these current year creators hate their legacy characters.
That concept drawing is one of the issue #2 variants.
Hard pass.
It feels like everyone's talking about how bad Absolute Batman's logo is but for me my biggest objection is how utterly bizarre his body proportions are. On that first cover each of his jacked as heck thighs is at least three times as wide as his tiny head.
It feels hard to describe but even in a medium with stylized artistic exaggeration, his is still so over the top that he just isn't believable as a human. Maybe as some bizarre human/gorilla hybrid created in a lab but certainly not as a person. The result is that I just can't take him seriously. At all.
That infamous Rob Liefeld Captain America drawing from back in the day with the chest jutting out is infinitely more preferable to what exists here.
All out of fucks for this.
Snyder isn't a great writer. Past Court of Owls (middling at best) his Batman run was trash, you can't even shift the back issues past the first few. Synder was largely responsible for turning batman into Iron Man. Just dreadful. Also, he felt the need to sign a declaration saying he wouldn't abuse and grape women. Which is just very very odd.
Hail. Shane! Great video, almost spit out my coffee. I enjoyed the first few things Snyder did in Detective Comics hated when Commissioner Gordon became Batman, all the Metal stuff I had no clue what the hell was going on 🤷🏻♂️
HAHAHAHAHA! Batman AB (AT BEST) is a thing now. Or how about Superman IG (I GUESS)?
This is the same man that wrote Batman telling an alt Batman that the Joker is more Batman than he’ll ever be.
One of my most wtf moment in Batman Last Knight.
So I already know this isn’t going to do much once the hype of a new number one is gone.
I still don’t think Discover/Warner DC cares about public domain at all.
Glad DC is at least smart enough to know naming a comic series AF is a bad choice
Rebirth could have been the eternal foundation for DC, and edgy writers who want to be Innovative could have created their own characters on top of that foundation without contradiction.
I'm not sure why that was too difficult to pull off.
Probably because subversion is easy and creativity is hard. It's easier to doodle along the edges of a math exam than actually pass it. 😂
DC makes it hard when you don’t retain creative rights over new IP developed under their umbrella. If creators had more stake in the game this reboot / rehash comic book storytelling and multiple versions of the same character wouldn’t exist.
@@ComicBookMuscle That's true.
@@ComicBookMuscle I was thinking of Dan DiDio. He didn't find Rebirth artistically satisfying. But he's not really a creative person in the first place.
I'm criticizing people who were sort of at that level.
Thanks!
Not interested really in absolute. Just another ip farm and merch for statues and figures next year. During the new 52 I enjoyed the tomasi/Gleason Batman book more
The bat symbol looks like it's being censored. The gigantic legs. The whole look is horrible.
Marvel and DC comics are dead and I'm good with that. It took a while to accept it, but I've finally found peace living in the past with them.
Absolute-ly great Batman book! Already on its 3rd printing. Hyped for the next issue!
This looks like more TRASH from DC! If DC had truly started an ULTIMATE line (like Marvel did) starting over from the beginning and doing away with all of the ghey shite that has taken over current DC, I would've possibly started reading DC again. This is NOT something I want to read.
Is it true the bat logo can be torn off and put on a pole to make an axe? People were saying the Jim Lee cover has it on end of a pole using it as an axehead and his chest looks like bunch of velcro or something with it removed.
Smells to me more like ABSOLUTE SHIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIITTTT!!!
Meanwhile his new White Boat independent book is pretty dope only 2 issues in.
DC desperately want to replace Bruce Wayne, Clark Kent, and every other character that's entering the public domain. To bad no one wants a replacement.
I think the title of your video is based on internet discourse that I have not seen. All comments I’ve seen from consumers are very positive. I think issue 1 is gonna sell very well just as Rebirth and the New 52 did. I appreciate Snyder trying to get people excited. More creators should be pushing their projects. I’ve seen crickets from whoever is working on Superman and WW absolute.
SHANE AF! SHANE AS [beeeep]
I'll give some of absolute a try. Wally looks ghey, idk about ww...Kelly Thompson isn't a very good writer...Jason Aaron hit or miss
It’s so funny how fans have a revisionist history of Scott snyder. 10 years ago Snyders run was hailed as the best in years that Batman was trash under Morrison.
Now snyder is bad, his run ruined Batman. Blah sucks blah sucks.
If fandom is correct and Batman has been shit then Batman hasn’t been good in 20 years which is a pretty stupid assed assertion.
Why is everyone jumping the gun and doom grifting before the book is out. Why not just wait, read it and see and THEN if it sucks go ahead and pontificate your drawn out ass opinion.
I still don’t get the gripe about how different Batman is. Why make him the same if he’s an alt version? That’s just redundant as fuck, if I want a classic Batman there’s a monthly in the stands now and I have years of back issues to sift through.
This is why fandom has turned into a bullshit toxic ass titwank
well since this is the version
that DC is hoping to go forward with sooo
Batman fans are going to be stuck with city engineer Bruce wayne
who's best friends growing up as a child on crime alley are going to be his villains
enjoy
but not i will never never accept any friendship between BATMAN and the Joker
Never
@@ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΑ-ε1ω where did you read that his friends would be his villains? And it’s not THE version of Batman going forward. It’s A version, meaning there’s the regular Batman book to read if you don’t like the absolute version.
@@cicolasnage5684
This version of Bruce
Son of A school teacher father
And a mother working
For the mayor
Is going to grow up in crime alley
Making friends with the people
That in the main universe are his villains also he is going to be
An anti capitalist Batman
If you want to read about an antifa Batman go right ahead
@@cicolasnage5684
Nope only until
2034
In 2034 Golden age
Batman Superman and Wonder Woman are going to be in the public domain
So DC wants to have these new versions for at least the next
95 years
So since they are the Absolute ones...
@@ΑΛΕΞΑΝΔΡΑ-ε1ω dude stop it already. You’re parroting the doom grifters.
Think for yourself.
Plenty of things have gone. public domain but do have stipulations and some don’t.
Dc most likely will have stipulations.
And no, this is NOT the Batman it is A Batman. Who knows what will be what 10 years from now smh.
