I loved this show! Of course there were flaws in it, but I am now so curious about the original work and time period including the role of the Catholuc church, which banned the original work, (of course). Clearly it's not an accurate depiction but it does raise so many interesting questions about the life back then (and today) especially after emerging from a pandemic: the entrapment of the lower classes in their destiny while the rich can take comfort in bunkers and yachts, that women are determined as useful for 1 or 2 purposes emanating from their reproductive organs, that love comes in many forms, always has, and often causes problems for those entangled in it. There's also a theme of the seven deadly sins (being good) while also showing how virtue isn't always a good quality. And it's all wrapped in a very amusing and relatable story thats driven me to want to read more. This deserved a better review.

For me, the core of this series lies in the evolution of the protagonists’ relationships-both with each other and within themselves. Each character underwent profound growth, learning valuable lessons about love and personal sacrifice. That emotional journey is the true foundation of the story. The central conflict isn’t just external; it’s deeply rooted in the characters’ internal struggles, making their transformations the driving force of the story.

This is a typical American bumbling, fumbling, start nowhere, and end nowhere disaster. Attempts at creating a Life of Brian type sophisticated, witty, tongue-in-cheek romp, end in slapstick and throw-away nonsense not worthy of B rated vaudeville. All that was missing was a car chase. What a disservice to a magnificent piece of work
