Our politicians often think that our soldiers can make do their mission even with the oldest or cheapest weapons available. Just look at all the countries that invaded us: Spanish invasion of the Philippine islands: successful, Filipinos were enslaved Filipino-American war: Successful for the Americans, Filipinos were put under American rule. Japanese invasion of the Philippines: Successful, Filipinos surrendered. The Philippines have yet to successfully repel an invading force. For those folks aren't familiar with the premier elite units in the Philippines military. The most premier counter terrorist unit is the LRR (Light Reaction Regiment) this elite unit was trained by the Top Special Elite Instructor by the US SOCOMD (Special Operation Command) the purpose is to eliminate the Abu Sayaff and other local or foreign terrorist group. And this unit was given the nickname Delta Team in Asia by the US Military. And next is the NAVSOG (naval Special Operation Group) or the Philippines Navy Seals they conduct same mission as the US counter part but different tactics cuz we don't have the same budget us like uncle Sam. And the tier 2 units are the PHSR Philippines Scout Ranger this unit are we'll knowed by there ability to track anyone in the jungle night and daylight good weather or raining hard. And consider as one of the best anti guerilla warfare units in the world. And the next tier 2 is the Philippines Special Airborne Regiment or the Philippines green beret is main capabilities are to train the local militias and also trained to speak any local languages if it's native or foreign language just like what the green beret of the USA and next tier 2 is the MARSOG (Marine Recon Special Operation Group) or the Marine Recon main capabilities is to conduct unconditional warfare and reconnaissance and amphibious reconnaissance and those are few of the capabilities of the Philippines Elite Units sorry but I can't give you the exact information due to it's so very take long to read

The real number of Philippine Military is actually bigger in wartime. The Philippine coastguard is one of the biggest coastguard in the world by number of personnel and can be transfered to navy in wartime. The National police also has Many Special battallions that is semi military in structure and can be deployed visavis the military. They have also the paramilitary militia called the Cafgu auxiliaries which is under the Army which serve as teritorial defense. Meanwhile, the Army LRR is a 1st tier special mission regiment which is equivalent to US Delta force both in selection process and in purpose.

The Philippine coastguard is one of the biggest coastguard in the world by number of personnel and can be transfered to navy in wartime. The National police also has Many Special battallions that is semi military in structure and can be deployed visavis the military. They have also the paramilitary militia called the Cafgu auxiliaries which is under the Army which serve as teritorial defense. Meanwhile, the Army LRR is a 1st tier special mission regiment which is equivalent to US Delta force both in selection process and in purpose.
