- The Philippine Marines on Saturday, June 15, practice a counter-landing drill in Burgos located in the far north of the Luzon island facing the Taiwan Strait. The drill is part of the 2024 Marine Aviation Support Activity (MASA2024), this year’s iteration of the yearly drills between the Philippine and United States Marines.

Mga Pilipino nga naman. Makikita mo dito sa comment section wala talagang suporta at pakikiisa. Filipino soldiers are disciplined and warriors with high moral as we have seen in many events like the Marawi siege and Zamboanga siege. If only the government had its attention to advancing its military 2 decades ago, the West Philippine Sea conflict with China is not what it is right now. China is very aggressive because they know that the Philippines stands no chance against a giant force like them. The reason for the Philippines neglection of advancing its military technology is because it relied too much on the defense treaty with America. It is good to know that you have an ally to help you in times of need but it is only you who can help yourself completely.
Mahina ang recoil dahil hindi full charge yung propellant, pang simulation lang talaga. Makikita sa 4:42 yung bags ng propellant na hindi ginamit na nakatali magkakasunod. Ang powder charge ng 105 howitzer ay pwedeng iadjust depende sa range ng target, kung mas malayo pwede pang dagdagan.

I hope that the PMC knows that the enemy landing teams will be supported by naval artilleries, missiles and aircrafts too. They should take this into consideration when planning to counter such operations. 😊

No doubt that the Phil. Marine soldiers are ready, brave and skilled! BUT they are very few, lacks logistics and ill equipped with the modern technology that is now prevalent in todays battlefield!

In real defensive counter attack, artillery fires will mostly miss the shot on real moving targets. However, it still help a bit but if AFP wants a real stings, they must procure more NLOS missiles and surface-surface missiles and deploy it to west coastlines of Ph's critical areas like Ilocos, Pangasinan, Manila, Subic, Palawan, etc.
They must also think that artillery will be a prior target for attacking force from a "notional" foreign aggressor. That open field could be a target through bombardment by naval enemies, if we think wisely, enemies may also think wiser than us hehe
