I still remember the ‘beauty tip’ mentioned at 5:35 from “The Golden Girls”: if you look into a mirror while lying on your back, it’s like a natural face lift (although your chest also falls back ‘and off to the side’) but if you lean over a mirror and look into it, your face falls forward and you look ten years older. As a kid, I couldn’t think of any situation where you would be lying down looking up or looking down from above at someone!
she looked pretty damn good for a 63 year old woman in 1985. Also what a genuinely sharp mind for finding a clever joke for everything you throw at her.
I think she was able to guest host shows here and there. I noticed she got funnier and funnier as time went by. I remember her being hilarious on SNL... there was something I recall with the cast singing, "Thank You For Being A Friend" to her, then she became violent and smacked them all around or something.
Wow! Betty White will always be iconic. You know, if it hadn't been for her and Allen Ludden, then David Letterman wouldn't have been on late night TV and we wouldn't have had UA-cam. So, we gotta give her and Allen credit here.
You can never be sure how an alternative history would have played out. Ludden helped get Dave some early game show appearances, but Dave put in lots of hard work on his own at the Comedy Store, honing his act, which also helped propel his career. Dave's obvious talent was recognized not only by Ludden, but also a number of others in Hollywood. I suspect that he still would have achieved success in television even without the assist from Ludden.
@@allendracabal0819 Yeah, but he had his game show appearances helped him get money while he was performing at The Comedy Store for less than nothing. So, you still gotta give Allen Ludden and Betty White some respect and a lot of credit.
Can anyone not love Betty White? 😍
Yes 1 can... but then 1 would not be watching this
Well, Bea didn't care for her.
Bea Arthur
She was 63 here, 1985. SIXTY-THREE! She's got more pep and bounce than most people in their 40s do! What a broad.
Rest in peace and we still miss you, Betty!

I remember the same bit from "Soap".
Of course, when I say "remember", I mean from reruns a couple years ago.
Such a fun classy lady! So missed! What a sweet interview!!
Actually she was very very naughty!😂
The Incomparable Betty White. Just spectacular.
She was just great ... very "Betty White" and really hip ... Dave was lovely to her as well.
The first episode of Golden Girls was September 14, 1985 so this aired several weeks after.
Miss you Betty!

She was certainly quick on her feet. Impressive.
Wonderful Betty, she is missed.
While watching this it occurred to me that Betty would have made a good late night host, especially so given her early experience in live television.

@@rocketreindeer Yes. She had such range. One second she could be just the sweetest thing and then the next second be a very racy lady.
Betty was the classiest game show contestant ever.
She dry humor was the best. 😁👌
HER dry humor ..
She was an awesome Rose

betty is the queen rip
Just few weeks after the beginning of season 1 this interview took place!
Greatly missed...😢
She was just teasting, when in fact Betty wanted to do more seasons of the beloved program.
Comedy genius.
Feels like the Bea Arthur comment was not actually in jest
It wasn't 😂😂😂
It wasn't. She would mention a few times in some later interviews how Bea Arthur didn't really care for her. It really is unfortunate.
Anyone who doesn’t love Betty White should immediately stop what they are doing and seek medical attention.
