So much natural chemistry, dangerous energy and free-flowing wit that simply doesn't exist on late night talk shows today. Dave was at the top of his game here. Nothing could throw him off his rhythm and he had a comeback for everything. You can tell Cher respected him like she did few others. She knew he would not easily give up and let her be in control. He was a challenge to her which she enjoyed.
I'm pleased to discover that the more Cher talks, the more likable she becomes. Turns out she's a fabulous interview, as I'm reviewing these old Dave clips. On a side note, watch her cheekbones literally erupt as she smiles here: 3:22
A friend of mine, not a big star, was in the green room with her before she came on stage for this show (he was in a short comedy bit that night). He says Cher went out of her way to make small-talk with him, and was very down to earth.
Thanks 4 this Gr8 video. So funny. I'd forgotten about how contagious her perculiar laugh is...Such a talent. She raised 2 children on her own. Keeps both feet on the ground and keeps moving forward thru 5 decades inspite of the critics & nasayers, now in her 70's. Bravo Cher 🌷
