Oman is the brother nation of Yemen. The great Azd tribe migrated there more then 2000 years ago when the great dam of Marib fell. The khanjar is the Omani version of the Yemeni Janbiya. Hopefully one day Yemen will become as stable as Oman. Omanis are a very noble and honorable people

I like the Kanjar of Oman as a Precious Decoration Item to be kept in ShowCase. All Traditional Items can be displayed as Sweet Memories.

I like it as a self defence weapon , which it is , don't forget it's history . Prevalent in a time when knives were used as a weapon. It's a pretty knife , belonging to Oman's culture. The dagger in the belt and cane in the hand with thobes and head wraps is just pure class.

Wow those daggers are so beautiful. What a rich culture the Omanis have, it’s important to remember and preserve your culture and heritage, and carry it on, we should be doing the same here too. We’re looking to the future too much and it’s pointless, it will get here regardless. Unfortunately. God Bless all your families in Oman, those craftsmen are amazing!

this reminds me of the spanish saddles as well as the suits they wear in my region for fiesta parades, something that was invented to invite tourism by the spanish ranchers who still held land after the american conquest of california. my neighbor had these things, and donated them to a local museum. apparently they're worth 20 to 30 thousand dollars because of the intricate silver weaving work, and it all has to be hand stitched through leather or cloth. masterful work for sure, and something we have to inherit as well as earn.

Interesting video. I didn't know about the cane. I wonder if originally it was used like a riding crop for managing camels....?

The embroidery is beautiful but I would be inclined to use it, and the way that blade is set tells me it would break.
    Different culture, I guess.

Yeah, looks like such a flimsy construction when compared to western knives. Then again, it is probably meant as a weapon to pierce and slash flesh, not hack against wood or something.
Would still love to own one though. I love ethnic and traditional weapons.

@@gre8 it’s curved so it gives you a better vantage point towards the soft under part of the chin.

      It's a decorative blade

You don't use a dagger like that to swing at wood lol. Obviously if you would use that dagger for bushcrafting it would chip, it isn't meant for it. It's a weapon for cutting and slicing flesh.
      Different things have different purposes.

What horn do they use usually? For “regular” daggers? I know rhino horn is used in some places but it’s extremely expensive. Just wondering.

take the kufr elsewhere ok.. When Jesus (pbuh) returns he will denounce all you people who ascribe divinity to him.. smh ...such a dangerous sin you do and believe in. Repent to the Creator before it's to late..
