    For those who don't understand why MANY people prefer the original console to modern emulators, its nostalgia. If you have fond memories playing this console as a child, nothing but an original console will do. It's a great feeling to relive happier times.🥰🥰🥰

    I went back to my childhood :( Sometimes, all I wish is to go back to the past to experience life as a child again. Quite often I find myself lost in the past traveling through the times when I just rejoiced every single moment without thinking of what lies ahead. I just wish I had some superpower to do the time travel.

    What a blast from the past. Next and modern day gaming is awesome, but it's not THIS. I was 11 boy again watching excite bike and Mario bros.
    I must just say thank you. I've been watching a good few channels and videos over the last few weeks cleaning and restoring consoles (Xbox 360 more specifically) and having discovered your channel, I finally decided to take the plunge and open up my console for the first time after 12 years. What a personal achievement it was for me, considering that it all panned out well.
    Watching your videos inspired the confidence I needed to do it. So thank you. 👍🏻

    You were very intentionally avoiding showing that it was a modded nes for some reason. It had a standard nintendo composite or s video jack installed in the rear.
    Also, it was pretty cool watching you somehow play it with left and right audio cables installed, and no video cable plugged in. Neat trick. 😂 🧐

    • @jdemuro1
      @jdemuro1 2 місяці тому

      I think it should still work. The cable ends are just color coded so you don't cross-wire them. But inside the cable is still the same [probably] stranded aluminum. That said, the gameplay video is still staged.

    Cool! Got two PAL NES consoles, one in cosmetic bad-shape and the other one broken. Thinking of using the best parts for the project. Brand new connector will be installed aswell. Never thought about the yellowing of the plastic until I saw your video...but yep that is definitely an issue on both of the consoles. Need to learn more about this, seems to be a elaborate process? Great video and thank you for the inspiration to bring back this beast from the past!

  • @gamedoutgamer
    @gamedoutgamer 2 роки тому +22

    You marbled the plastic case with the peroxide cream treatment. It looked bad after you de-yellowed it. You're supposed to massage the peroxide cream every 15 minutes or so and also make sure it doesn't dry out. It looked dried at the end. Even better just put it out in strong sunlight to remove yellowing. The broken plastic 'toothpick' fix looked bad. The gameplay at the end looked very emulated and not real. Like how you used power tools to clean the rust off the metal parts but it would have looked nicer if those surfaces were polished to a 'like new' finish. Now the rust will return because of how the metal brushes scratch the surface. 2/10 restoration.

    Why aren't you taping up the non grey parts? The solution WILL take out some of the black color. Also, the way the plastic is wrapped will cause "zebra" stripe patterns on it. You should set the plastic in a much more flat manner.
    You could have protected the stickers as well.
    For the parts where you are sanding, why not just use a magic eraser anyway?

      I think this video is fake, mainly due to the gameplay demo. There is no way composite looks that clean, alongside the fact that there is integer scaling on an HDTV, which unless using an external upscaler wouldn't be the case normally.

    How much do you charge for this? I found an old NES while cleaning out my grandfather's garage. it would be cool to see it running again.
