I love the way the yellowed plastic comes out after the peroxide and UV bath. Looks just like they did when I would drool over them in the stores back in those days. Love the epoxy ball mod. What a great little addition.
I think we're all missing the real star of the show here: dude on his phone in the background at 5:40. But seriously, that resin ball for the joystick came out awesome
Thanks man! While I was very impressed with the restoration process (and you making that cool custom goldleaf resin knob) I was also very impressed by those two tools! Definitely going to check if those are also available in the Netherlands. 😉
Real gold in a controller... definitely something we've never seen before. That's always awesome. It looks gorgeous and would be much cooler to be using.
case of the nes arcade control in blue I would have liked a modification like this :) those materials that that bro from the tysytube has :) to modify the nes arcade joystick shell just imagine it transparent blue joystick transparent blue buttons and transparent blue housing in a nutshell a nes arcade joystick in color: Trixie lula moon :)
Always slightly disappointed when it's a plastic item being restored and then by the end I am always blown away! I would be quite happy to see that console restored
Spectacular job. I had an old NES advantage joystick. It was the only one I used that didn't mess up my fingers and joints using it for a prolonged length of time. The UV light with the parts in hydrogen peroxide made them brand new again. Excellent work.
That epoxy ball was wonderful, the gold leaf was the perfect touch. And of course we want you to restore the console. I want to thank you for your videos, Tysy. Your showing how to clean battery contacts and electrical elements helped me to restore a needed remote control for a DVD player. Because of that, I did not need to buy a new one. Thanks.
While I typically don't like things called restorations when they are actually altered from their original form, this new handle is awesome. I bet if you made a bunch of those you could sell them as aftermarket parts to vintage NES collectors that want to spice up their controllers. It really was pretty awesome. I also have to say that the results of the UV cleaning for plastic parts is so cool to see. Amazing what just some simple cleaning of things can do to make them last longer. I guess as long as people don't clean things you will be in business doing these and putting out content. Thank you for all of the videos you create. Always great to watch.
Restore the console on the next video? No. I want to you alter the laws of physics and space-time so you can restore the console in the video previous to this one. Nice job with the epoxy ball.
I watch because this channel is half super satisfying restorations, and half because I get wonderful nostalgia hits like this thing. Took me right back to a better time.
1: Not sure what I feel like watching. 2: See Tysy Tube uploaded a new video so the decision has been made for me. The very best uploaders are must-watch-immediately. Thanks for the always-flawless content.
The nostalgia that hit me when I saw the thumbnail!! I spent many nights playing Mario Bros and Paperboy and Castlevania and Excite Bike with that joystick.
My brother had one of these for his Nintendo when we were kids. The turbo buttons are really great for playing the game Track & Field by Konami. All of the events with running required you to quickly press the A button to determine your character's run speed, and just holding down the turbo button simulated furiously mashing on the button faster than humanly possible. It was an easy win every time.
What a grubby heap... turned into finely honed excellence! Retrobriting never fails to amaze me, it looked like new! The control ball idea was utterly lovely, turned out really well and looked superb. Would love to see the console refreshed and restored and maybe with some LED touches on it too, maybe around the buttons on front and/or the cartridge loading bay? Can't wait to see it looking like new again!
very good friend, I did not like the joystick sphere (I mean the color) but I guess it's a matter of taste. Due to the state of the nes, I imagine that a video of that is coming soon right?
Please restore the console. My dad and I have been collecting all the Nintendo consoles since the original NES came out (I wasn’t born until just before the N64 but still.) Keeping them in good condition is very close to my heart.
It's always so satisfying to see an old console or computer retrobrited! This controller came out beautifully. The resin joystick is so cool! I'd love to see the NES restored as well! ^_^
Yes, I think it would compliment the controller if you restored the console. You do such outstanding work and it's a real pleasure watching you restore these vintage items.

Hmm..."I make a new one" I wonder who might have inspired that line ;) Love the videos! Actually discovered you through one of your comments on My Mechanics! You're making me envious of your soldering iron though. I'll never be able to talk my wife into letting me get one though. Especially since I've already got one that technically works just fine! I spend enough on my lightsaber hobby as it is :(
Nice restoration sir. Back in the days I broke that joystick playing Ninja Gaiden. The last levels got you to restart from the beginning of stage 6 if you died; so I punch it and broke a few copper signals on the PCB.
Yeah theres no option to save your game so if you died you start from the very beginning this is why most kids never knew the NES games actually had an ending 😃-
I was really impressed by the epoxy knob, especially the super smooth finish, directly from the mold. No polishing needed! When did you get a lathe? I was excited to see you had one!
Nobody noticed he has like the rarest NES at hand too. A french one with the multi out. Awesome work on the controller. I always thought the stick contacts would be far more complex in these. Personally, i Never thought the ball would come out as "round" as it did. Astonishing. Also the gold inside is a very nice touch.

Well if he can alter the laws of physics I have a whole list of things for him to restore in the past... Who cares about the Nintendo at that point.
