Hi Cara,, nice to see you both back after your renovations and other stuff , missed your fun personality Cara, you're always laughing ! Wow yes Savannah is a lovely place with some interesting history :) . St John's Basilica was beautiful and so was the church that was connected with the guy who wrote Jingle Bells. The city market looked great and so did that iconic fountain from 1888. You asked us to count the trolleys but I wasn't sure which were trolleys hehe so I wasn't sure what I was looking for :) And that's great that John was in the military - Respect . Loved this , you did a great tour thanks ❤
Thank you so much for watching and your lovely comments! The trolleys or tour buses they were bright orange and also white/blue. I thought it would be fun to count because they seemed to invade every shot I tried to take! 😂😂😂 Truly appreciate your support! More videos to come soon! 💕~Cara
@@JohnandCaraRetiredTravellers Oh OK haha I was looking for shopping trolleys like at the supermarket 🤭 I might have to watch this again later just to count them again out of curiosity 😄 Look forward to your other ones 😀 💜
I'm convinced I had a past life in the 1800s in Savannah and FINALLY visited it last May. Within one minute in the Historic District I was in love with the city and stood in the street crying. I have to find some way to move there!
Hey Both, loved this, how gorgeous does Savannah look? It’s a bucket list dream to ride on an old paddle steamer boat. Beautiful basilica, really pretty town, but never mind about all that, most importantly, that is the home of Jingle Bells!!!! Loving the Christmas reference (this is Wills by the way, Rach is next to me, we’ve just been watching this on the TV). John is ex Service?…Nice one, respect!!! Really good to see you both again, take care and looking forward to the next one!!! 🍻
Wills knew you’d love this bit of info! It’s one of the most beautiful cities and we always discover something new! Yes John 35 yrs USAF Ret.LT.Col. Thank you guys for watching!!! Wills I have a new joke for you…send you an IG message later 😂😂😂! Appreciate your support guys!! ~Cara 🥰
Kelly and I counted 9 trolleys and 3 of the white Kelly trolleys..... Every time we see one of your video's, we want to go to that location. We are planning on visiting everyplace you both have been when we retire and now Savannah is on the list. What a beautiful church! I love the spiritual music that you played while showing that part. I've always thought that Catholic churches are beautiful. I went to St Josephs. Kelly and I enjoyed your video and look forward to the next one. Love you guys!
Hey you two!!!!! Thank you so much for watching! Scott you are correct, however there was one in the distant a trolley I’m not going to count that one! Appreciate you watching & your endless support! You will absolutely love love love Savannah! It’s a quick 5-6 hour drive from home…and if /when you decide to visit contact me I’ll give you recommendations on the Airbnb’s we’ve stayed. ~Cara 😊
I loved seeing the church! It’s quite a bit newer than the church as I’ve been seeing lately, but the benefit was that the artwork and the painting and the colours and detail were just stunning!
We love Savannah, John and Cara! Your right about the historic district being so walkable if you stay down there where we do. They even have an elevator going down to River Street as my mother quite often come's with us but Kathy and I have climbed those stairs! Love all the squares and homes. We've looked at prices for spending a winter (on AirBNB) but think we'll have to keep it to a few days at a time! How many trolleys? Too many to count but we love the "Hop on and Hop off ones!" They give you so much information, John and Cara. You have to do one at least once! The food is phenomenal! Thanks for bring back the memories.
Thank you so much for watching! Happy we were able to bring you back! I didn’t know if the elevator I would have loved to have known, as my knees are terrible since the surgery last year! We cannot wait to return always something new to discover too! ~Cara 😊
Hello Savannah, hi Cara and John! So glad all the renovations and other 'things' are resolved and completed. This video was absolutely lovely. And St John the Baptist Church, wow. Those Stations of the Cross were AMAZINGLY beautifully crafted. I now also know where Jingle Bells comes from! That's so cool. Looking forward to seeing more of what you have in store for us. Happy travels. 🙏 🎉 🇳🇿 🙋♀️ 🇳🇱
Hi Anita thank you so much for watching! We love Savannah and always discover something new when we visit. We too are happy renovations are finished!!!! ~Cara 😊
Very nice. When I think of Savanna, Forest Gump, Paula Dean and the movie Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil immediately come to mind. I would love to visit it one day. I loved all the trees and walking areas. Great Job guys as always!
Thank you!!! Did you notice the insert I placed of Forest on the bench? how many Trolleys (tour buses) did you find? 😂😂😂 thank you for watching! We must go one day you’ll love it! Hey maybe our next family getaway! 😊
I cannot believe I missed this video, my apologies for the late watch. I LOVE Savannah - excited to watch this! Wow, I wish we'd seen inside the church for ourselves. It's stunning. The architecture is amazing, and I love how the town was designed with the houses built around squares. The trees with the hanging spanish moss are really iconic. Lovely video! 😊💕
Not to late! So happy you had the time to watch. We love Savannah too, one of our favorite cities. The huge trees provide much needed shade as well as beauty! Appreciate you watching & your support! -Cara
I DID NOT know that about Jingle Bells! Cool! So glad you enjoyed the Bascillica ! It is awe inspiring!! Loved the footage! Thanks for the shout out and your unwaivering support! Love you both muchly!! XOXO
Beautiful video! We LOVED Savannah as well!! We went around Christmas of 2020 so got to do the Christmas light trolly one night! We also loved the river walk and the chocolate kitchen! Thanks for sharing! Makes me want to go back!!
Beautiful tour of this beautiful city. I love wandering the squares and gardens of this wonderful place. We have visited a few times and your super video makes me want to return for at least one more visit. It is the first time I have found your channel. There looks so much more I will enjoy. New Sub.

Really enjoyed this video - We love Georgia, especially Savannah, but we went last in 2002, so I'm sure it's changed a lot since then! I had no idea that Jingle Bells was written there! We knew about Forrest Gump, which is one of our favorite films - so many amazing quotes! Loved the City Market area - we didn't see that on our visit - next time! Great to see you back on your travels again! Dan
Thank you so much for watching! Yes we always discover something new when we visit Savannah! Maybe one day you can come visit us in the Georgia mountains! 😊~Cara

Hello! How are you? I know this video has nothing to do with ellijay but I've been watching videos about the place for the apple festival and I found some of your comments in them. I hope you can help me. Where is it easier or more convenient to get to? from the Chattanooga or Atlanta airport? Is there public transportation that takes me from those places to ellijay? In the last option Uber, didi or another platform. I just don't know how to drive and renting a car is not an option. It is the first time that I will go to the Georgia apple festival, I read that there are two weekends to celebrate it, the same things are offered in both? Any additional recommendation is welcome. Thank you!
The Apple Festival for 2023 are two weekends. October 14&15 & 21&22. The Chattanooga airport is approximately 1.5 hours. Atlanta airport depending on traffic is about 2 hours.
