Tony Wood *EXACTLY!!!!* Early in his career, DW was just like Ernie, but did you hear Petty, Cale, Bobby Allison, etc. complain like Rusty did? *FUCK TO THE NO!!!!!* Rusty was a jackass then and he is still a jackass now.

Rusty Wallace wasn't clapping for Ernie at the end of his speech. I don't know what his problem was but, I guess it had to do with his passive aggressive attitude. Bill Elliott is looking at Rusty like come man "cut it out". Like the water bottle with Dale Sr in 1995 at Bristol Tennessee.

I respect the hell out of Irvan for speaking to his fellow drivers and acknowledging fault. Can't even imagine some of today's assholes like the Busch brothers eating crow and showing humility after making mistakes- it's always the other guy's fault. Irvan became a real solid driver and anyone knocking his ability doesn't know what the hell they're talking about.

    • @Notch8GEGaming
      @Notch8GEGaming 6 років тому +4

I respect Irvan for it too. As for the Busch brothers, I still couldn't see Kyle doing it, but after all the stuff Kurt has gone through I do see a different person than 4 to 5 years ago. I think he does now take a bit more responsibility for his actions, and I think he has matured.

Yeah and all Rusty could ever muster was a water bottle. Besides rusty had to stay up Dales ass so he could feel validated. The only driver that beat Dale truly was Gordon and he didn't have to say anything aggressive, threatening or whatever. He just drove his car and turned the other cheek. Notice he never spun Gordon out. He did get mad at him but that's just being competitive and when they were seen talking it seemed genuine. Everything with rusty just feels overly forced. I get the feeling that everyone felt rusty was obnoxious. Kinda like that one guy that wants to be your buddy but you just can't jive with him because he tries way to hard. But yeah, Rusty just seemed extremely fake.

I'm a big Ernie Irvan fan, but I understood where the drivers were coming from...one or two wrecks is accidental but if you cause several accidents in one year, it's hard to feel sympathetic for the person. Brad Keselowski had a similar year in 2014 as Ernie did, which is why it's hard to feel sympathetic for a driver who constantly gets himself into trouble.

Leave it to Felix to give a great quote. Of course I think I could come up with some good lines if a guy destroyed two of my race cars and left my guy with his left femur broken in half.
Rusty was about right, when Ernie opened up his firesuit with that Davey Allison shirt a little over two years later, everyone came to love him. I miss him being around. He's taught us a lot about head injuries and prevention, though, so it isn't like it was in total vain that he had to retire early.

Rusty was a good driver and Champion. But he was one heck of a crybaby.

Every one of those drivers is a damn hypocrite. Especially Wallace, Waltrip, and Earnhardt

To hear ned say Rusty had issues to over come himself is laughable one year later I was 7 years old and I asked Rusty for an autograph and said " Get the Fu** out of my face kid it's too Damn hot I understand people have problems but you do not talk to a fan like that especially a child Richard Petty seen what happened and made up for it

And to think, Irvan had won the Daytona 500 to start out that season, and now he was a target of other drivers B/C he was *'allegedly'* overaggressive. Remind me of someone who won the Daytona 500 exactly two decades later.........

Ernie was just racing hard and made some mistakes but big deal he was doing his best, saw him at Richmond last night at the Super late model race with his son.
Rusty was full of shit he never stood up to Earnhardt, in fact none of them except Tim Richmond who was a better racer by far than Dale and had he lived Dale would have never seen 7 cups as well as if Davey had not been killed but wasn't meant to be.

Looks like Ernie needs a waaaaahbulnace. Pretty bad when you have to get up and apologize for just sucking sooooo much. I have no repect for Ernie "Theres a car, WRECK EM" Irvan. He caused so much wreckage in NASCAR, starting to see the same idiocy with Brad Wreakalowski.
    Kids, don't be a Ernie.

Ernie became so much better over the years, I believe he was on his way to win 1994 championship

He sucked so bad, the year he wrecked and didn’t finish half the season he ended up second in laps led to Rusty, who btw raced in all the races. lol

He was in over his more guts than brains he had great equipment in essence it was like giving a child a loaded gun. I think his vision of lock of vision was what was wrong with him. His eyes were all messed up. If not for his accident he probably would of ended up killing someone on the track. Thank god for unanswered prayers
