This song you make touched my heart, my soul and my mind. Makes me feel nostalgic. You should make more of those soul beats just you just made more often. Peace and love.
Nothing quite like the dynamic duo of the SP1200/S950...how real hip hop is supposed to sound!!
PS That first sample is pure bliss, especially in filtered form.
Chad Kelham thanks for your comments dude!
Jesus this Miles Davis joint plus sax from John Klemmer!!!!Blew my head off i've heard it on Planet Asia and PR &CL album...Was Dope loop but your chopped version just got me flyin High in our Galaxy!Mad Props...sorry i am writing it under every link but i'm just touched by this climax...Im 37 so it is nostalgia for me....Keep the culture alive!

Knocks hard!
whats crazy is 1:35 the difference in sound of the drums from the record vs when you played it back on the sp. man Id buy a SP tonight if I had the money!!!
I might need to steal it like RZA
They almost sound like they were ran through a compressor, wouldn't be surprised if that break was ran into the sp at higher speed, snare sounds a bit pitched up so it smacks a bit more.. Could just be my ears though, they're still pretty decent but progressive hearing loss sucks :( but i'm excited for the SP clones!

@@sgtcreasegrease youre correct speeding up the record when you record a sample and then pitching it back down on the sp is a common thing to save sample time, and thats also why the sound quality is extremely lower
@@sixx_808 People forget about that, they think it's just 12 bit and lower sample rates, but it's a combo of the AD/DA converters for the i/o, the 12 bit and samplerate, the capabilities of your turntable setup, mixer and EQ settings on the mixer if you use it, the sample in at high speeds at a lower samplerate and bit depth then slowing that sample down, the analogue mixing desks, outboard gear and tape. It's a lot of shit.
Nice Drums

Junior mance thank you for letting be myself drum loops @1:30 push it along sample
How did you filter out the guitar on the sleigh bells?
nice vibes man ;)
thanks man!
+BooooooomBox powerpier approved
was this beat ever used yet or is it available
That is cool. So this is what 12 bit sounds like? Between 8 and 16 bit.
The frame rate / resolution ~26.04 KHz also greatly contributes to the sound, hence the aliasing when samples are pitched down. Of course, other factors such as gain staging, converters, filters (etc) are essential to the end result. The SP is amazing.
Are you Pete Rock??
thumbs up yo ! Aus der Schweiz, richtig ?
Bin au us de Schwiiz und ha e sp 1200 :-) greez

Junior Mance - Thank You Falletin Me Be Mice Elf Agin
Any chance of a mp3 of this ? Great stuff
thanks! this gonna be on a project i'm working on with MC Gels.
+BooooooomBox alright thanks bro.. What was the name of the records you used? Thanks.
What type of Roland mixer is that?
vs-880
I don’t get what you did here. Did you take out all the low end stuff, and then run it through the 950s low pass filter and layer it?
i resampled the main sample and threw the s950 lowpass filter on it, boosted the low frequencies to get the bassline going
@@ChiefRugged I've been trying this and it sounds very muddy and distorted. It doesn't sound like a good bass behind the original sample. Maybe it is the original sample just doesn't have good low end? But it sounds more like thick waves behind the sample instead of a nice bass sound underneath.
@@ChiefRugged I got it going now thanks! Love your videos!
like. sp. 1200. make. more. today.
Sample of the horns?
I too would like to know
pls send me back to 90.
what drum break lp is that?
I also want to know
same as Oddisee - Beach Dr, the break is Junior Mance - Thank You Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin
Dope my Man, exactly the kind of hip hop and technics i use in my production. Straight from our pair like Lord finesse, Large Pro, Buckwild, Pete rock and Nick Wiz to name a few. Keep going and check me on @joken18 to keep contact 👌🙏
In the past people sampled coz synthesizers even keyboard were fucking expensive, and vinyl was everywhere, now when you can get a lot of keyboards, synths for almost no cash, people are still stealing other peoples music, I just dont get it.
sampling is true hip hop, of you wanna make hip hop the traditional way then you sample... sure you can make it from scratch as well but true hip hop heads appreciate the art of sampling
yyyyh. This is like all wrong. Sampling is true hip hop ? So if Im making my own sounds and compose my songs, and paint graffiti and breakdance, it wont be true ? History is important, but world is not black and white. You can sample yourself to get that loop feeling you know ? And so on...
Crhrzaq........so not only do you own, but you're also highly proficient at playing, the sax, trumpet, trombone, flugel, violin, cello, viola, guitar, piano, bass, drums, flute, clarinet, oboe, xylophone, glockenspiel etc and you also have a complete set of vintage microphones, tape machines and studio equipment to record with, a large space to record all these instruments and 20 yrs of experience on how to best record the instruments?........... Or do you just make modern sounding hip hop using 808 drums and soft synths?
@@steveehardcore well to be honest DAW has most of these things covered ;) and to say that most loops are really technicALLY difficult :P also how much studio quality are you removing with the 12bit and aliasing\
so althou i think both is best i find it a very straight forward thinking to looop your own records.
