Amateur Climber vs British Bouldering Championships

- The British Bouldering Championships are the UK's national climbing competition, held every year on Devonshire Green in Sheffield. The competition sees the strongest climbers in the UK compete for the title of British Bouldering Championships winner. This year, I was lucky enough to climb on the qualification boulders with my friends, Nathan, Jamie and Rikki before the athletes headed out onto the matts. I'm really excited to be able to share the session with you.

Is that a HMB tee you're rocking? I love the design so much!! Is it an old release or something I can look forward to?
It is a HMB tee - one of the very first batches at the design tweaking stage. Really excited to be dropping some merchandise - hopefully this month! :)

It makes me appreciate even more the skill and precision of the competitors. They climb so fluidly it makes these impossible routes look easier than they are.
It was so interesting getting to try to boulders first, and then watch the athletes on them. It really put into perspective just how hard they are! 😊

Absolutely agree! In my local gym they held a national bouldercup recently, and in the livestream the boulders looked pretty hard already, but when I went these boulders were still up, and from up close you can see and feel how impossible they are for us mere mortals, it's eye opening for sure.
Wow! That looked incredibly hard. Then to see the pro's do it just shows how skilled they are.

It looks like all the routes are just 10-15 degrees more overhung when you're trying them. Insane how strong the competitors are .
