I feel like they should have done hours and months later first, but they probably don't want to over-do it. Both installments are already immensely good and it's my all time favourite "zombie" franchise for sure, but I don't see how they can implement hours or months later now unless they go back in time which is certainly possible I suppose
I was 19 when 28 days later came out. 23 years old for 28 weeks later and now I’m 41 for 28 years later. These are the horror films I’ve grown up with.
Similar for me, I was 18 when 28 Days Later came out and someone who was obsessed with all things film back then (I was studying TV and Film), I was just blown away by it. I liked 28 Weeks Later but did not give me the same joy as 28 Days. However all these years later, seeing this trailer and I get the same feelings as I did sat in that dusty cinema all that time ago!
I genuinely hope they make a 28 hours later, because it would be more chaotic than any of these movies imo because of the sheer panic that would be spread
I hadn't considered that, but it's actually a great idea. Given the value of this franchise, I wouldn't be surprised to see it happen, along with any number of other prequels, re-quels, reboots, and offshoots. I'm here for all of it, provided the production teams involved maintain the discipline they've shown us so far. Fingers crossed for that, but in the meantime, this one at least looks like a total banger.
I really hope they don’t go too crazy with the mutations. My favorite thing about this franchise is that it was one of the most gritty, realistic, and immersive zombie movies.
The huge one chasing them at the end is enough for me. Don’t do like 5 different varieties, just have this one rare type of mutation with this alpha. Like the scene with the tree, where one larger one is standing still while the rest chase after something. Almost like they’re hunting something. That’s interesting.
I think it will stay realistic. Maybe the variants will have minimal changes, I dont see them doing anything too crazy although the "it evolved" might mean something totally deeper. Based on experiences and the trailer itself, I feel like this is what they want us to think and we could be totally wrong. Your probably like "but its literally the trailer showing us some crazy zombie" but anything is possible. Also I just thought about how maybe that zombie that is a giant, could be a recently turned infected and was just super fit before he did. I mean like where was he getting his source of food from before if he was a zombie/infected.
It's not a zombie movie, but an infection movie. And at that, yes it is one of the best infection movies. But by that knowledge, there would have to be mutations, as viruses have a tendency to mutate given enough time.
