This is a beautiful video. I have lived in Canada for 22 years but I am also planning to move back to Nigeria with my wife and two daughters. There is no place like home, I have suffered from anxiety due to loneliness in this place. My reason for moving back is because of the communal environment that exists in Nigeria. I have a good job, my wife is also a nurse but there is no place like home. My hope is to be back by 2026, God willing!

You have to loose one , to get one
Here in Nigeria, there's no job , except you know someone at the top
Yes the communal living is there , but nothing else
Notwithstanding people are relocating out every day
My advice is invest by building a property
Then if you want to come back , you come back

Live in Nigeria now after so many years in America and I love it. The question I ask myself is why did I wait for so long to move back. Good and healthy food, freedom, plenty opportunities that locals refuse to see but foreigners see and take advantage of, and plenty rooms to make a difference and be relevant in a non-oversaturated place like the western world. I choose to leave my home country, and i also have the right to return. Did they financially make your jakpa or japada. Its really sad how people need to concentrate on their lives and not people's business. I'm mentally down, and when i share with family, all they say is stay there. When my contract ends, I'm going home and will not communicate with any family or friend. If something bad happens to me, they will still continue with their lives.

That " Stay There" is coming from a very selfish mindset. It's not Love, but based on self interest. You need to 'stay there' so that you can still be sending hard currency to them. They don't care about your well being or happiness.

There are times God will be telling us is time to move back n that uneasiness will be shown all over us just as i am feeling right now, 10yrs in south korea, now all my soul has left this land...Funny how people make millions in Nigeria yet spent on one embassy just to tarvel n works years again to rasie such money n after years want to return to same Nigeria!! I am guilty of that too and now i know better!!! Nigeria has that huge market population but the issue is that the money sent into Nigeria fromwe in disapora into Nigeria economy wasnt utilized well by the people sent to but used to enrich Alcholoic companies. They make money in Nigeria n cant reinvest it back there but use to enrich embassies n next we be blaming the Government..All over the world there is no sure security and there is a stage n age we will all get to and realsied that what we priotized now wont even be in our priorities ever again!!! 2025 i am coming back to my Mother n father land for Good!!!! Since left none of my friends or family had died of hunger or kidnapping for 10yrs but instead friends n close ones post going to parties every weekend shouting TGIF n i am here that weekend is when d work load go increase!!!! I be here in d winter woorking my ass off n dey will be making babies thens ending msges that Iyawo re ti bi mo(meaning ur wife has born) is it my own wife?? It shows you the level of understanding and selfishness cos what is good for Mr A may not favour Mr B. The fact remains I'm happier and my mental health is healthy here no matter what is happening right now in the country.

He also asked me who did I think will build up Africa???? He said one day Hitler type figures will come to power in the west, they will prioritise those who are their kith and kin, he said they are already tired of us, our begging bowl is getting too big and they are asking themselves why we can't build a prosperous Africa...... The hostility towards migrants is getting very extreme and hot.

Moving to new country should only move if God is telling you to move if he is in it then will be ok but if God has nothing to do with your move...then God will will have nothing to do with you in your new place..... I am Caribean moving to Nigeria in next few months.......Joy of God is iur strength in this day of battle.....

Where do you get a1 bed flat for £900? That has to be outside zone 1 to 3 in London otherwise you're very lucky! I pay £1,300 excluding council tax and other bills. Its crazy! Best plan is to go back home, trust me, especially after raising enough funds to start up a business. Life here is a monotony of work, home, eat, sleep, repeat. And that's sad.

Clearly that is a priority for the Nigerian government. They encourage Nigerian’s to go abroad and send back money.

If you have lived for a very long time abroad maintaining a similar lifestyle back home can be way more expensive. Food , water, electricity, health care if you require special care. The rich people in Nigeria fly abroad frequently for checkups. So it might actually be way more expensive to live in Nigeria. This is not adding to the fact that people will be asking for money constantly. Just things to consider. Are you able to run a business to fund the lifestyle. I agree with that before making such a decision to come and spend some time in the country and do some good analysis

There are millions of Nigerians doing very well in Nigeria without a foreign passport. They haven't even stepped foot outside the country. So having a foreign passport doesn't change much. It is more difficult to travel abroad now and it is more difficult to live abroad now . Many things have changed and war is coming, pandemic is coming, there is no better place to be now than in your own country because there could be worldwide lockdowns again and you may not want to be stranded in another man's land.

Although I don’t know much about Nigeria now, what I hear on social media and the news is not very encouraging. I have been selling my houses in Nigeria for a while now, and the exchange rate when bringing the dollars back to the US is disappointing. For example, I spent $300,000 in 2010 to build the house I sold last month for ₦100 million, and I was only able to convert it to $40,000 after paying commissions. I have one remaining house in Lekki, Lagos, for sale now, and I’m not happy with the offers I’m receiving for it. I haven’t been to Nigeria since 2013, which was 11 years ago, and I don’t plan on visiting the country in the next 10 years. Based on my observations, I understand why people are amazed and surprised by your return to Nigeria. I left Nigeria in 1991, 33 years ago, and have only visited the country in 2002 and 2013 since then. Although I would love a change of environment from America, Nigeria is out of the question for me. I could understand why people are surprised about your return.

A lot have changed since your last visit in 2013. If you believe what you see/hear on media,(particularly on the mainstream) and some social media platforms, then you might not want to visit, because we have been weaved mentally to think and see more of our negatives than positives, at times to the point of the absurd. The best is to have an open mind. I had a friend in your position, who did not for 20 years but braved it six years ago and have been on Nigeria yearly since then.

@@akinjoaquim1013 It’s not about social media. There was no social media when I left in 1991 and came back for a visit 9 years later in 2002. There wasn’t much social media from 2002 to 2013, when I didn’t visit for 11 years. And it’s not because of social media that I haven’t visited in 11 years. The truth is that Nigeria has nothing to offer me. I’m used to a certain lifestyle, and I couldn’t cope with the lack of infrastructure and security during my two visits. My reference to social media was about the person making the video, not about why I don’t visit Nigeria. The two times I came, I stayed indoors for the entire two weeks because I don’t have friends in Nigeria to play with. I have six siblings, and I haven’t even talked to them since 2013. I don’t even know where they live or whether they’re alive or dead. Even in America, I don’t have a single Nigerian friend. So, I don’t know much about Nigeria. Even if I have to visit Nigeria, I have to apply for BVN, NIN, and passport to travel. I won't go through those hassles to visit Nigeria. I have zero interest in Nigeria and will never live in the country again, no matter what.

@@AdaLivingInspirations I had five houses in Nigeria, and I’ve been selling them since 2020. The last one is on the market for sale. Living in Nigeria is not for everyone; some of us have moved beyond that stage of life. I have houses in America, Switzerland, London, and Germany. Why would I choose Nigeria to live in over all these countries? You expect me to rely on an inverter and generator for electricity, endure sleepless nights due to neighbors' generator noise, constantly worry about kidnapping and crime, and deal with bad roads? At this stage of my life, I can’t live in that type of society. You’re right, there’s no place like home for those of us who see home as where your heart wants to be and where life is comfortable. America, Switzerland, London, and Germany are home to me. That’s where my heart wants to be, and that’s where life is comfortable for me. Home is not necessarily where you're born or where you come from.
