I got the f501. They take absolutely ages to run in. Sound totally different to when I got them. I'm in the UK. They were really harsh and no bass. Brilliant now. Traditional speakers tweeter woofer arrive at same time frantic wotsit is bull****
How would you describe them, are they clinical and accurate? I’m really intrigued by Fyne and moving to a larger place where I want a dedicated listening room and I really like their heritage related to classic tannoys. Fynes Vintage series are to die for
@@SpyderTracks Yes they are clinical and accurate to my ears. I was going to sell them because they sounded like stand mounted speakers. I damaged a cover when re packing them. Had to cancel the auction. I called the shop (richer sounds) and the guy said he would order me a new grill. When I told him about the sound he said they were his favourite speakers and they took an age to sound their best. I always thought that was a fallacy. What a piece of luck. Gave them more time and they are absolutely awesome. Can really hear things I've never heard before and the bass came to life. Great separation and soundstage.
@@andywrollo2915 thanks, what was the rough burn in period do you think?
Can sound a bit harsh on some music. Hard to say how long. I had a pair of dali oberon 5s and listened to them instead. After speaking to salesman i tried them again and few days they sounded better. Few weeks of frequent use. Might just have been mine.
Dali oberon 7 ten times better. 501s bright and harsh.
If that speaker can make Linda Ronstadt's music as euphoric as scoring heroin in the park we all need at least one pair. Thanks for putting that into perspective, Kevin.
Polk uses a similar patented design called a Power Port to direct the air flow.
Kevin's involuntary shoulders dance (?), usually happening in the beginning phase of his talk, puts me into smile. It makes him endearing! 😀
yeah, he loves talk dance as well 🤣🤣🤣
Hi kevin thanks for the brief talk we had in munich on the stand of pathos. Thanks for helping me solve that amp problem. Till we meet again 😁
Glad to help! Rock on!
I have the F501SPs. I love them.
Hoya, what was the burn in period on them out of interest?
@SpyderTracks I actually don't know. I purchased them as a used demo pair from a shop. But once I got them positioned they were awesome.
@@SpyderTracks40+ hours minimum. I think after 300 hours they won't improve. But these guys do need time. I've got the F502SPs with about 30 hours on them. They do improve with each listening session..
Check out our latest video where we review the F501SP as one of our favorite speakers!
nice chair in the background it looks Avaitor Inspired Design
It does!
So brilliant it's just like a Tannoy.
ofc these were people who left Tannoy because Tannoy stopped with most ranges...
60" true ribbon tweeter 😊
FFS! After a few months, I've almost got my F502SPs set up properly. Now I've got to consider the super tweeter and start over again!! 😂
Don't bother ... they won't add anything.... Just sales talk and I've owned a few of these from Tannoy...
@@ericshutter5305 yeah. You're right. They would be overkill for the F502SPS with my equipment and room anyway. But I would be interested in a blind test.
We think you should go for it!
You can see the Tannoy traits in that Fyne speaker.
I remember all of those raving Tannoy videos Kevin made bashing “Fynoy” speakers and their not so “Vintage” collection, and here we are.
What videos?
Is it really worth its price point, is it a huge upgrade from the Tannoy’s Revolution 8Xt’s?
Clearly the build looks better. Can it be bright like the Revolution?
Surprisingly, they aren't harsh at all.
*with the correct amp.
Think Arcam, Cambridge Audio, PS Audio etc...
I have never found these bright!
Starting at $8495 CAD$
Kevin, just wanted to say THANK YOU for stressing the need for people to buy from local dealers. I have to admit, that speaks volumes about your character and how you truly care about other business, even if that means you might lose a sale. 🫡
Every town is better with a local hifi shop!
