Heading east is usually always easier than west. Rarely does any significant wind prevail out of the east across the continental US. A good cross wind out of the north or south can make things a little interesting and still wreck your MPG a little though.
That’s what I’ve been doing on fuel on 136 gallons. You’re 💯 about fuel cost and consumption. I was running a 2020 F350 with some “weight loss” so that helps out a lot. Also the truck beefed up the truck to F550 suspension and uprated the gvwr
I would never run without an auxiliary tank! I had a ram 3500 cab & chassis so I had a 52 rear tank & a 50 auxiliary with a pump system. Saved so much money!!
My ram has 3.73 gears and I get about the same MPG as you do. I don’t have an fuel in the bed of my truck and it’s a pain to have to stop 2 or 3 times a day. I just bought a single axle semi with a sleeper to pull my 40 foot trailer,it has 150 gallon tanks on it.
Get a fuel card too if you don't have one. There are several good ones. I've been using TCS for about a year now and it works. Good discounts in most states.
I put an aux fuel tank in my truck when I bought it new. Not running Hot Shot but pulling my 5th Wheel RV. What you say by having the options on where to fuel is right on.
Make sure you know when they are going to cut checks and how they want their paperwork and who is your point of contact in accounting as well as operations.
I have a gm truck I’m going to use just what I’m most familiar with if I need to wrench on it myself it’s still under warranty but that doesn’t help much on the side of the road. I used a 2500 Chevy in oil field on lease roads in west Texas very harsh environment only issues I had were suspension and electrical mostly from mice eating wires nothing much from the engine a bad starter and a broken belt but this isn’t hauling heavy loads all day every day either
@@HotshotAdventures is there loads that pay better that will only accept air ride? I've seen other Hotshots mention that on their UA-cam and since you also dispatch, I was wondering how much truth to that? Thank you for your time. Love watching your videos, very informative and entertaining as well. 😁👍
Love the video!! It was very informative for everyone, whether u already haul or are looking to haul or hotshot with a big long trailer!!!
Yay! Thank you!

The newer Fords are doing really well with MPG. My 2021 F350 gets 18-20 MPG *city* and 24-25 highway. Blows me away. Great info, thanks for the video.
Hey Natalie Merry Christmas 🎄 to you and the gang…glad to see you’re doin well. Keeping hustling hard in 2024 and stay safe gurl 👍🎉🎉
Yay!! Merry Christmas!
Thx so much

The best move you could make !!
@@michaelsorrentino9279 I got a very good deal on the truck I bought.

💯
She is definitely right 👍 will help you to avoid down time in the fuel isle.
Beautiful lady beautiful smile Natalie
You are one fine Texan momma.
Great advice, I'm getting into dealership vehicle transfers. Any advice?

Good information.
So nice of you
Your mph & psi are huge factors Let’s Gooo!
Oh, very good, another good point. Yes, PSI checking your tire pressures all the way around truck and trailer very good point I forgot to cover.
Good information Natalie.
Glad you think so!
Question.... what about fuel tax for each state you are in. I was always told fuel in one state going out and the opposite going back
Are running fita tags? If yes where did you put them?
Fuel tax is totalled quarterly. If you want to minimize the cost of ifta taxes you can fuel in the states you drive through
HELLO GOODMORNING, WOW WAT A BEAUTIFUL PLACE U HAV THER. WISH I WAS N TEJAS. HAV A GR8 DAY AND ENJOY THE CRUZ.
Good morning!
I see you got a generator too. I love mine too
Oh ya
I did not hear you mention a fuel card? Do you use one and if so what kind of discounts were you getting? Thank you very much
She has mentioned that very subject in previous videos.
Yes, I've done videos on my fuel card.
Awesome job fuel and ins biggest expense
The weight of your right foot is probably the biggest factor!
That's a good point
My Ram has a 22 gallon front tank and a 54 gallon back tank. If I get a 95 gallon auxiliary tank ill have 171 gallons on the truck. 😊
That's awesome!! That will get you far Eric
Good to head you got good fuel millage. Awesome video. 🙂
Thanks 👍
put a wind foil on your truck
355 is higher gear ratio…373 is lower…
We all know what she means, lol
Hi Natalie.can you text ware you buy delco trailer .thank you
I saw a new one out oh Oklahoma a few months back same as mine 12k$
I bought mine from the trailer guys in Trenton tx
Do you have to pay IFTA with that f350?
If you're registered over 26k gvwr yes you have ifta
Natalie needs to clean the bed of the truck lol
Do it for me
Natalie I can't walk so you have to clean it
My ram 2020 has a 32 gal truck tank but I have a 93 gal extra tank
It's necessary
Yes it is
What gear ratio is better for a non cdl hotshot?
If I was going to do non college I'd probably have a single rear wheel truck. 3/4 ton, maybe 1 ton. Definitely diesel.
3.55 or 3.73 is plenty
Why don't you see many GM trucks being used in hot shot?
Not sure
I see them every so often
It's the same reason you don't see gm ambulances they aren't heavy duty enough
I have a gm truck I’m going to use just what I’m most familiar with if I need to wrench on it myself it’s still under warranty but that doesn’t help much on the side of the road. Great information. Looking to get into CDL Hotshot. Do you recommend a 25k GvWR flatbed 40 ft or a Diamond C 40k GVWR air ride flatbed 40ft?
Both are good choices. I really don't see the need for air ride but it's a matter of opinion

Nice! What made you decide on the F350 vs the typical Dodge hotshot setup?
The transmission
If you don't know gear ratio you probably shouldn't be doing this. Seems logical that dual-tandem would have more drag.
Get your Truck maintenance regularly
I got a 60 gal wished I had a bigger one
Ya I hear you
Thanks for being pretty 😉
No problem 😊
