I've used stencils in the past without success. Now, I'm ready and willing to try again. Thank you, Brandi. I enjoy watching your videos because you're in them!
You're doing a great job whether you're filming yourself or not. I hear your voice, I love your humor, and you explain everything very well. Almost 33,000 subscribers agree with me. Sometimes others, will, talk smack about you to keep from having to look at themselves. It's easier...isn't it? To each his own!@@thediystruggle
Thank you so much for this great tutorial! I have many Christmas ornaments that I need to stencil for a show in December. Been holding off for almost 2 weeks because I know they will bleed through. Watched many youtube's. Yours was absolutely the Best. Now I am not afraid to tackle this project. Many, many Thanks.

Thank you 🙏🏼so much! I’m new to crafting and this video solved many of my stencil mishaps. I can’t wait to follow your guide lines and see positive results.
You crack me up! Thanks for all of your tips. I hate to clean brushes too. I rinse them out and let them sit all day or overnight in a mixture of half water and half Murphy Oil Soap. If I have a crusty one, I put it in a cup of boiling water with the oil soap. Haven't lost one yet.
Hey Brandi! I look forward to each n every video you put out. This is yet another good one. I tend to screw my stuff up n have redo it several times. 😂 😂 😂
I love your tutorials, Brandi! I love how you used a variety of tools and sealers to shows us a variety of results! I appreciate this and YOU so much! ❤
Aww thank you so much Girlie! I just try to make videos I myself want to see. Like, its nice to learn HOW to sencil but what should we use and why, and what else can we do if we have issues... I really ask myself questions like this before I create content latley. I hope it is helping all of you as much as I think it would help me!
I am glad I could help Mary! In terms of application you really see, the stencil can be applied with great results with any of those tools really. I truly believe the off loading is what makes a good stencil. the less on your tool of choice to apply the better!
I make stencils with my Sizzix Big Shot die cutting machine, but love DT stencils. I've bleached shirts and used fabric paint with those DT stencils and they work great. I use quilters adhesive spray for the non sticky stencils. I LOVE Technique Tuesday!!😍
Thank you! I was trying to stencil some butterflies for my niece and it wasn’t going well. Never knew it was so hard to stencil well lol. Your tips helped!
Brandiiiii I LOVE YOU for doing this tutorial! I told u thst I ALWAYS have bleedthrough issues ALL THE TIME and asked all types of questions so this video is PERFECT for me!! Ty live! Ty ty tyyyyyy!!!❤❤❤❤
Thank you for taking the time to teach us how to do the amazing things you do. I probably will never get as good as you but, I'm very grateful that you're willing to share.
I hope you GET BETTER.. Like I tell my kids I don't teach or tell y'all to do things like I do so you do it like ME!! I do it so you excel and become better than me!!! The students should always surpass the teacher so to speak..lol
Thanks Brandi, I love your tutorial videos, they are great for me. I never knew about putting medium in before the paint, maybe now I’ll get better stencils cos mine don’t come out very good when I’ve finished them. These videos are really helpful to me.
18:38 I just started crafting and am so happy to have discovered your channel. So informative and funny at the same time! I’m not sure if you answer questions, but I’ve watched multiple times and can’t figure out what adhesive you used on the white paint. I’m having the worst time with stenciling on my painted Dollar Tree boxes!!! Thanks for putting the time into sharing your knowledge! ❤
Hey Brandi, I really appreciate this very informative video. You're the best. Thanks for taking the time to share your knowledge, from your experiences. 😊 ❤

Hi Brandie, glad I watched this video. I got the paint around the stencil, I blotted the pounder so it was almost dry. How do I get a perfect stencil like your first one?
I didnt get it up till late, a lot of editing yesterday, I worked on this and almost have fridays video done!! I like getting them up earlier for more notice but just didnt happen,, *ugh
Look at you dropping this knowledge gem. I love this.. so much I am about to add this to my craft hacks..lol seriously an awesome way to kill 2 birds with one stone!
I would use the paint color of the background over the stencil then let it dry. And make sure to use the off load method so the applicator is completely dry almost and gently tap the color in. Hope that helps!
So I have a. If not it's kind of like wood but that stuff that you show nothing planks. Will I have something like that? Should I paint it first before I use my my stencil but my stencil is a paper. Can I use paint still?
Not dumb at all, it was their satin clear coat sealer. I just wanted to show you, that with that you can also use a Brand retailer that can not be easily found in stores to accomplish the look
@@thediystruggle I guess the PodPodge was put on too thick. I took off the stencil, and it tore off the paint (waaahhhh!!!) Terrible I guess I need a thicker canvas. Wood panels here are TOO expensive---and Amazon ripped me off.

Very nice tips. Can you smear modpodge over your finished product?
This is a great tutorial. What is the Dixie Belle product that you used?
The gilding wax. It's amazing. A little stinky but amazing!
I use my brush to clean the stencil that way I clean both at the same time ☺️☺️☺️

I like the stipple brush and the regular sponge the best
Which medium would you suggest to use to help with bleed through on paper?? Happy Crafting from Phoenix, AZ. 🤗❤️

And make sure to use the off load method so the applicator is completely dry almost and gently tap the color in. Hope that helps!

Had a hard time finding makeup sponges as well. But you can get them at Target.

How do you line up letter stencils to make word? So the letters are not far apart or to close. But just right.
A lot of times you have to wait for one to dry or use a heat gun!! They lay them .
Hope that helps
❤❤❤
Uhhh what was the Dixie Belle? Am I dumb? 😂 Thank you! 💗
Not dumb at all, it was their satin clear coat sealer. I just wanted to show you, that with that you can also use a Brand retailer that can not be easily found in stores to accomplish the look
Do you put modge podge after you stenciled?
You can absolutely seal over your stencils! I have used all kinds of sealers from spray paints to mod podge! Just let them dry!!
THANKS YOU GOODNESS 🌟 DAPHNE COTTON ALWAYS 💜
would this Mod Podge work on an already painted surface on canvas? thanks
Depends on the item I think. I don't feel comfortable giving an answer without seeing it and knowing the paint etc...
@@thediystruggle would matte ModPodge work with the stencils on whatever you're working on?
