It's like you're sharing a piece of that early morning tranquility with us, coupled with the anticipation of stepping up your game, Mark, hehe. Can't help but admire the dedication and the little moments of peace you find along the way. It's these snapshots, from the curious view from the bench to the casual meet-ups with dog walkers, that stitch together the real essence of your journey, dear friend!
Beautiful route and the weather was cooperating. Appreciate all of the b-roll, lots of great filming and editing. It's getting real with 8 weeks to go!
Thanks 🙂👍🏻 It's great to hear that. Put a smile on my face. I think the intro tune will stick with me for the rest of the ultra training then I'll have to come up with a fresh intro. All good fun. Cheers!
Thanks, Lorna. I do like my little local route. I used to run around Holmebrook when I lived in Newbold for a while. It had a similar vibe. Looks like you caught it on a wet and muddy day today 😄
Nice relaxed run Mark and a great video as usual. I love meeting all the dog walkers on my usual routes and have a pack of dog treats in my pocket to give to my favourite dogs. Also very useful to throw on the ground to placate an agitated dog! Good luck with the rest of the training.
Hi mate. Yes, I took it very easy and decided to focus a bit more on the filming for a change. Good idea with the dog treats. Might be useful on the way through some of my local farms! Thanks, Peter 👍🏻
LOVELY Mark. a bit jealous of both your sunshine AND your easy run!! I did my big 26km trail race today in the rain and endless endless mud, 834m (a new record for me) of lots of very steep ups and downs, plus a few fields of bogged out mud in between, and all churned up by the 46km runners who started before us... I was already in pain and wanted it to be over at 5km!!😂😂 Isn't it the way?? "Why do I do this??" I kept asking myself!! I've definitely done way too much lately, not fully recovered, and I paid for it today!! That made me quite determined to take it easy the next 3 weeks until my 50km April 6. I was hoping to do 2h50 today, but managed 2h55 and still got first in my category💪🏻11th woman overall, so pretty chuffed with myself!!!😁😆 I DID learn from your video the other day though, was it you or your friend who left their shoe behind in the mud? So I thought to do them up well before the start, and just as well too!! I went with my trusty old Trabuco Max V1 finally as they're a bit firmer than the V2 for such very steep slippy slidy terrain, I wanted some trusted oldies on my feet, though could've REALLY used some Mudclaws. Will totally go for the V2 for the 50k though, which will be on much more reasonable trails!!!
Well that sounds like a fun day out! 😄 Congratulations on another great result, Bev. You do appear to have been doing a lot lately, but then how else would you find your limits? I'm glad to hear that you're going to allow for a bit of recovery now. Makes me feel a bit less of a wimp for not pushing quite so hard with my training for one thing 😄 Enjoy your easier 3 weeks. I'm sure you'll smash the next race 💪🏃♂️
@@markg99 TRUE, it's just FAB to really push from time to time, but gosh my recovery has been taking way too long these days, AND I've picked up some tennis elbow from my strength training too, so definitely signs it's time to take it easy for a bit!!!
Nice editing there, Mark. Different vibe to this one. Some good firm trails around there. Good work on running up and down finding the camera you kept dropping by the side :-😂
Nice one Mark. Liking the new style of filming 👍 Looks like a really nice peaceful run, I am just starting to build back up now and cant wait to be back out on the trails! Have finally got round to making a new video too which will be up later today.
Cheers, Ryan 👍🏻 I enjoyed taking my time on this run, and filming more than usual as it was an easy run. I'll look out for your new video mate. Glad you're getting back into things 👌🙂
Nice update, love the way you film your surroundings! Beautiful day but a lot of mud and dogs so I'd hate to run there 😆 good luck with the long run next week, I'll have my peak week next week too 🤪
Thanks, Deputy 🙂 The was a little bit more mud, and quite a few more dogs than I would have preferred but it was a lovely run. Enjoy your big training week, you've been doing great so far! 👍🏻🏃♂️
Bit of a mud fest in places down your way by the looks of it, good to get a bit of a rest with the recovery week, I'm in an enforced recovery week at the moment as I'm full of cold 🤧 Good job with the relaxed 10k 👏
Yeah, getting there now mate. I'm ready to go now to be honest. Feels like I've been training all my life at this point 😂 I'm going to do a celebratory dance if this flipping mud ever does dry up!
Absolutely. There were lots of dog walkers out, enjoying the morning too. Not quite sure on the history of the bench 😄 The bench and hedge look quite aged! It's a wonderful setup, however it came about 👌😁
Cheers, Ben 👍🏻 It was a happy coincidence that I decided to spend some extra time filming on the day the sun came out. Could have stayed out all morning that day, it was so nice. 🙂👌
Nice mate, beautiful weather for it! I was watching how much you were filming you running and thinking ‘That must have took some doing’ 🤣 and there you said it at the end. Is the Gate Inn as rough on the inside as it looks on the outside? Nice to see the daffs out. How your new shoes feeling?
It was a grand day indeed 🌞 As it was an easy run with no pressure, I just fancied doing some filming. Quite enjoyed it 👌🙂 The Gate is a bit of a sad story really. It's a really old pub with lots of history. The owner wanted to fix it up, make a balcony for outdoor drinking etc, but the neighbours got the planning permission blocked, so in the end he gave up. Now it's getting knocked down and turned into houses or flats. Shoes are still fab! 😁👍🏻
Nice looking trail to run on. Thanks for sharing.
Thanks, Michael 👍🏻🙂 I enjoyed this one. The sunny weather always makes the trails look even nicer.

Thank you! I've been enjoying running for almost four years now and it's great. Glad to hear you are happy and healthy my friend 🙂

Thanks buddy 👍🏻 I loved this run, and enjoyed taking it easy and filming a lot. Race day is indeed fast approaching! 😁
Very good video ❤❤❤
Thank you 🤗
Really loving your channel Mark. Keep em coming .. and great intro tunes too!

Well done again mark. That’s a really nice route. Glad it didn’t rain like today (Sunday)!

Fab video! Good to check in with you!
Thanks, Jess 🙂👍🏻 Always good to hear from you.
Some stunning views along the way Mark especially from that bench! What a beauty 🤣👌Keep up the great work mate! Bring on the long runs! 😎🤘
Cheers, Ben 😄👍🏻 I just had to check out that lovely bench view. I'm surprised there wasn't a queue! 😁
Loved the video Mark, thank you for taking us on that scenic run
Cheers! Appreciate you watching guys. You do well to stay awake with all that epic training you're doing 😁👍🏻
@@markg99😂😂 editing has been tough to fit in recently which has been annoying
Great running mate 😊

That little cemetery or monument looked neat.
Ah yes, the memorial related to the two world wars. Nice to see it still gets looked after.
Nice run out Mark. Good luck with the training.
Cheers mate. It was a lovely morning for it. Not like today 🌧🌧

I've never known such a wet winter. Hopefully summer will make up for it.
Not long now mate till your ultra how time flies while youre having fun 😂😂 Iam getting sick of the mud though , bring on the summer 😀

Absolutely. There were lots of dog walkers out, enjoying the morning too. Not quite sure on the history of the bench 😄 The bench and hedge look quite aged! It's a wonderful setup, however it came about 👌😁
