We will be introduced to a warlock named C'lee who the reformed Sand Door will fall in love with. At their marriage ceremony before the Heart tree, the septon will say something to the effect of "we are not losing a warrior, but gaining a great magician" as Sandor and C'lee jump over the firey ditch together, the frozen sentinels will finally awaken and raise a great cry of "C'leegained! C'leegained!"
So in elden ring blue water represents purity and flowing water while red water represents rot and stagnation. So maybe the blue lake tributaries dried up?
Nice to touch on stagnation also as a perhaps parallel theme depending on your interpretation of the Weirwood magic. Assuming you've played Sekiro or are at least familiar with it somewhat, stagnation is one of the primary themes and is shown as a source of impurity. Which makes sense considering that concept's importance both in Fromsoft games and Japanese mythos
@@ThommyofThenn yes I was thinking along those lines. David often talks about the bifurcation of the weirnet. If the bloody blade “blood” isn’t from sacrifice as he theorizes, then perhaps the hammer caused rivers to dry up. The red lake being “rotten” could be symbolic of the weirnets “rot” now that it has been desecrated.
i listen to these streams while playing minecraft 2b2t, being a menace hunting everybodies bases telling them no one is safe i have a thousand eyes and one
1:13:07 In addition to the Atreides's patriarch, you might find a fruitful connection between "Vorian" and "Vortigern," the fellow that Uther Pendragon is supposed to have defeated to become king. Otherwise it doesn't seem to be a name people use.
6:40 imagining a Stark warrior having a pre-battle ritual of consuming the sap, communing with the 'old gods' all night, entering battle in an almost trance like frenzy, with their wolves, she-bears and shadowcats savaging their enemies is so awesome
How is Darkstar going to steal Dawn from Starfall? if no one has ever done it in at least 8k years Is there any precedent in ASoIaF of someone stealing Dawn from Starfall?
🎉 I'm surprised you're up so early, I just got this notification on my phone at about 7 AM, I'm super impressed, I loved yesterday's stream, so as always, listening to this on my way to work this morning😊
I might just be too tired right now but it feels like you spend the video up by 5 -10%. Your cadence and gestures feel off. Anyways, I am headed to White Walker Land. Appreciate you duder.
i REALLY wish we could get a flash back of Eurons dream when Bloodraven came to him, i thought the ice spires symbolically and maybe literally killed the greenseer but more importantly destroys the power within that person, im probably wrong but how else could Euron have survived the fall if it really does kill u? what if his dream led him to jump out off a spot that was over the ocean so when he fell he landed in the water and ended up doing the drowned ritual after that breif connection to the net he felt like he had the knowledge of a god and maybe he kinda did gain some kinda deeper understanding of the magic on planetos
question... lol i was watching the series on hbo again and idk why i didnt think about this before, where in the hell did they get those monstrous anchor chains to pull the dragon out the lake with? maybe they meant them to be ice chains but they was metal how they forging links of chain like that? and in the series when tyrion is in the sky cell and morde is coming in to beat him with the club, the club is leather pillow i only noticed on the 3rd time of watching it but once u see the seams in the leather u cant unsee it
If magic consumes its user, then what if the greenseers' features (green skin, antlers) are the consequences of using green magic? Even if a greenseer's actual transformation doesn't make them look like Garth Greenhand, they definitely turn into worm food like Bloodraven and join the hive mind.
the show accidently correctly coveyed a sense of ritual every time a stark takes a head or whenever ice is raised to execute a man it really felt to me as well that any death in westeros the blood always runs down to the roots of the trees underground
Has anyone connected the right of the first night to sacrificing babies to the others? It's a perfect way to farm babies if no one wants the babies around in the first place

Also the "unalloyed" (pure) gold needle being a way to cleanse a terrible curse

First Night: Alyssayne outlawing FN not only makes her popular, but also reduces the possible spread of greenseers.
Love your Icebergs David, gonna rewatch the first part right quick before this :D Praise Garth

Welcome back, Martin "Crow." 🎉 We missed you, too.
Updating art is a fantastic idea, David. I'll relisten and absorb like a paper towel every time.
I think this has updated art because it was taken down yesterday. I was in the middle of watching it when it suddenly disappeared.
He mentioned accidentally posting it a day before he intended. It was up for about 45 minutes, so you're just extra awesome@@arsenicjones9125
@@arsenicjones9125I knew there was a notification yesterday! I knew I wasn't imagining it!!
yeah Bumbo with the quality of art being done it really is worth it
@ThommyofThenn yooo did you see the 40k art at 4:30?!!

Any thoughts on the Eddie Mendoza art from the 2025 calendar? Absolutely awesome depiction of Starfall

Beltane is pronounced like "Be-al-tin-uh" at least in Ireland.
Classic

Just finished a re-read of the series. So many of these theories and explanations hit different now that the story is so fresh in my mind. Good stuff.
