- It's time for Valentine's Day again! Since you've got nothing better to do, come spend the occasion with the angriest Lalafell in Final Fantasy XIV. Be amazed as we complain about the newest seasonal event, which - despite its lackluster story - actually has some pretty sick rewards.

to be fair, the characters ARE specifically at the age where they actually *do* need a bit of help to be able to just Be Themselves regardless of societal expectations.
They're also lesser Ishagardian nobles iirc so they also have the pressure of acting according to their status to rep their household in the constant game that Nobles play with each other.

All that you do for two maybe three planets now and they still make you pay for housing and items.

Holiday events are all about the free clothes! And because at least they can go in the armoire and not take up precious space in the glamour dresser.
That fucking armoire needs to allow more fucking things >->
And since you can already buy the cross-gender set and stuff _that_ in the armoire, you're all set for when Square Enix bestirs themselves to finish up making the cross-gender models.
Don't forget about the free mounts they have sometimes too ^w^
I love how Cider has a quest in wait that literally reads "Child Labor" as they escort Emilie
Regarding the obscure side-characters : it's nice to note that you can find most "ex-scions" around Eorzea ! When the Scions disband, most of them gets dialogues explaining where they plan to go next... and you can actually find them there !

(at the end of 6.3, you can find A&A still in Tertium, Y'shtola in Sharlayan's library, and Estinien in Thavnair training with Radiant Guards. Tataru is still in Mor Dhona, and the others remain unfound afaik.)

I found it stupidly funny when the whole event was about dyphoria over being forced to wear clothing assigned to a specific gender... and then the reward forces you to only be able to wear the reward clothing assigned to your specific gender. At least the dress looks cute on my lala
They almost got it all unisex. It's only the male roe/hroth bodies that aren't finished for the female set.
And you can buy the opposite gender set from the vendor for the low low price of being told for each piece that you'll never be able to wear it.
Supposedly they will change the set last years was. They just didn’t have time. They are slowly removing locks but it isn’t a priority.
Right? Lol. I bought the second set though for when they eventually un-gender lock it. I don't care much for the male outfit and know that the dress would be super cute on my bun boy.
Admittedly, fantasias mean going post op is fast and easy in this setting.

3:40 I thought about that, so here's a hint for everyone:
You can just get the other gender set from the vendor you get the eat chocolate emote and just keep it in the chest you can use for achievement stuff until the day it's not genderlocked anymore comes
ALSO: If you forget to check the vendor, then RIP to your emote, but you have a second chance to get the other gender outfit - it should be permanently added to the Recompense Officer in a patch or two from now, like all other seasonal events. You just need to get the achievement while the event is going on to unlock it.
Me and my friend did the kupo duty - we got 98 on the bond and got near perfect on the memory game bc some guesses were correct… we still got ‘favourable’ - so pr sure you can’t get anything higher than that other than if you maybe completely 100% it
Should note we went to 30 bond on the first try and failed miserably with the cards and STILL got favourable on that one on our first try. The 98 bond was our second try. Ye

Thanks for this! Great editing and script as always. Also great as it had cutscenes I didn't even know existed (I'm still in Heavensward, so I'm surprised I didn't see Aenor). Hope to see lots more from you, old and new, FFXIV and beyond.

I played this quest yesterday and I find it quite hillarious with how you tell the story. I wish I played FFXIV earlier to know full story though.

I don’t know if I was just really good at the mechanics or something but like all my times doing the instance I got “Kindred Souls”

No joke, I made my WoL have a bunny name with the intent to fanta to it when I upgraded off trail, but with no hats and the lala emotes I changed to potato elf and have not looked back(Just gotta wear bunny ears to have the bun name make sense)
Please keep doing these so I can keep skipping the events' stories without feeling like I've missed something.
i swear the event rating system was just spun at random. I ran it a few times even getting perfect souls with people that would actually talk just to get a low rating, but when running it with a lalafell that wanted to speedrun it and barely finishing with a score of 2 and taking 10 minutes on the cards we somehow got kindred spirits.
For the minigames I got randomly matched with a minimum height Lalafell...I'm a maximum height Elezen. Romance was not in the air on that blind date, lol.

god i had no idea what aenor was on about. not sure if its more or less weird with context.
also like everyone else the theme of the quest is cute and immediately undermined by the clothes being genderlocked. especially since someone on cohost had datamined and found the outfit months ago, they had it wearable on a bunny boy just fine. :/
at least these outfits can just be stored in the armorie until the cash shop team frees them.
