I've ALWAYS been a Journal/planner person and my daughters have picked up this trait from me. We spend weeks looking for the perfect planner for the next year. I love this, you're right there is no perfect planner. I used to make my own planners and then started using Franklin planners. I like this idea better than anything I have used since I stopped making my own journals planners.
I'm living for bullet journal videos right now eating them like cotton candy just started my own but haven't received the notebook yet in the mail. I need to see more layouts like this. By the way your video for April with the bees is what inspired me to go back to the journal keeping method it's very similar to one I used to use about 20 years ago when I was in grad school. Your video came along at the perfect time, I am completely overwhelmed with things to do and no way to plan on how to do them, I literally died in 2014 and have been recovering from a brain injury ever since so I don't have an organizational system anymore. Omg you take bullet Journaling so much more seriously than I do. Haha but I really enjoyed seeing how you tackle staying organized. But in all seriousness Bullet Journaling saved my sanity. Hallelujah A cute idea for the expense page would be to incorporate a pocket for your receipts since theyre so important for writing those off on your taxes.
I've tried to start up a bullet journal so many times and gave up almost immediately, but like, this video was so motivational?? And, sorry if this is weird or something, but watching you mess up was kinda motivational? I say this because every time I gave up on these types of journals/logs, I would mess up a couple times, then give up. You would mess up, paint over it, and start the page over, mess up again, tape a new paper over it, and start the page over, mess up, rip out the page, and start the page over, etc. You didn't give up even when you kept messing up. And it ended up looking fantastic because of that. It makes me want to try again for 2018 to get one of these set up. Also, I would love to see more of these on your channel! I like your suggestion of doing it like once every month or so. Not changing this channel into a journaling channel in the slightest, but providing tips and insight on how to do it.

I could never schedule and plan and document myself that extensively, it gives me stress and makes me feel like I always have something I should be preparing for or worrying about, maybe partly because of my anxiety. But I do like to be better organized and aware of things, and your journal is so pretty I think I might try this out with a calendar instead! Beautiful video
It might work for you! The great thing about bullet journaling is that it's entirely customizable, so you can literally just write down lists and dates if you want. You can add or take away as much as you want, so it might be a good way to start trying to organize a bit more :) It could also help if you break large tasks down into smaller tasks, so you're not as stressed out! I'm glad you liked the video!!
That is how I like to keep my spreads, especially my weekly/weekly overview ones, as it makes it easier and quicker for me to get them done! I try to keep a good balance between artsy and simple, sometimes I go SUPER simple if i'm really busy, and if i have more time I'll get more artsy and fancy. I'm glad you like it! I will keep doing it, I've had a lot of people enjoy it so I'll start filming more of them!

This is like the only video about bullet journaling that didn't bore me to sleep. All the girls are always talking way too much about lettering and colouring and quotes and put wash tape like everywhere and kinda miss the original purpose of bullet journals. I really like yours, it is easy to understand, makes sense and doesn't have any stupid decorations. If I'll ever want to watch any more videos about journaling, you are go-to!
I LOVE seeing your setup, trackers, and ideas, especially in relation to artists! I use an existing discbound planner then add in my own pages, and I'm definitely going to create some of the ones you mentioned. I'd love to see what else you do with this!
Loved this video! What type of paper is in your journal? Is it 'watercolor' paper or heavier weight? I have a $5 journal from Michaels and when I watercolor in it I have to take a page out of the back and glue it behind the page I just painted. Do you have another option to suggest? Also, keep up with the artist/watercolor journal videos!! They are great and very helpful. I also appreciate speeding up in the filming process and not showing all the drying...thank you for that. Keep up the great work and let's see more on what you're calling "artist journaling"...

Haha you're welcome!! Yeah I don't use them for on the go stuff, but I like to use them here and there when setting up spreads or for cover pages because they're really pretty and I think they blend nicely (like visually) with the markers!

Watching you and other artists this year has really made me want to try to keep a bullet journal, even with my abysmal history of failing to keep up with planners in any level of school. Oh man, I found this Spectacular! I’ve been bullet journaling for a few years now and I always am excited to change up my style and grow and change it. I’m in uni now (BFA majoring in textiles) and so my bujo has become even more important but much more basic. Nice video. I clicked hoping to see more of how you manage art commissions or pieces, projects and deadlines. Sometimes there are so many projects going on at the same time, that it becomes overwhelming to manage it all and not let things fall through
+ThatOnePerson I have a tracker I use! I didn't show it in this video because I spread them throughout. I don't use it for commissions because I don't do commissions, but I use it for tracking my projects at work and think it would translate well. I'll try to show it in my next bujo video!
Hi Alice, I stumbled across your video looking for spreads for creative projects, and I love the way you set up your bullet journal!! Do you have an issue with bleed-through when you use watercolour on a page? Or is the particular set of watercolours you use great for avoiding that? Also, I'm currently studying theatre design, and because of how my course is set up, none of the student spreads are any good for me. What we have are design projects that span several months, we just finished our first realised production, which means I got to see my design in action on stage for the first time!!! Have you had a creative project spanning several months? How have you set up spreads to keep track of all the different dates/deadlines and moving parts/ tasks for the project? If you haven't, how would you do it? And don't worry about the mess, you should see our design studio, it's like a bomb site with costume rails squeezed in!! All the Best!! Ghislaine
Just wanted to add - if anyone is interested in bullet journaling but the blank pages intimidate you, Passion Planners are a great middle ground between planners and bullet Journals. It allows a lot of flexibility and customization like a bujo, but has the standard month layouts and days broken down to the hour. I love mine!

I’ve been bullet journaling for a few years now and I always am excited to change up my style and grow and change it. I’m in uni now (BFA majoring in textiles) and so my bujo has become even more important but much more basic. You’ve inspired me so many times in this video, I found it took about 40 minutes to get though since I was pausing and taking notes! So thank you thank you. New sub and so hoping you have Instagram!

Nice video. I clicked hoping to see more of how you manage art commissions or pieces, projects and deadlines. Sometimes there are so many projects going on at the same time, that it becomes overwhelming to manage it all and not let things fall through
+ThatOnePerson I have a tracker I use! I didn't show it in this video because I spread them throughout. I don't use it for commissions because I don't do commissions, but I use it for tracking my projects at work and think it would translate well. I'll try to show it in my next bujo video!

Hi Alice, I stumbled across your video looking for spreads for creative projects, and I love the way you set up your bullet journal!! Do you have an issue with bleed-through when you use watercolour on a page? Or is the particular set of watercolours you use great for avoiding that?
Also, I'm currently studying theatre design, and because of how my course is set up, none of the student spreads are any good for me. What we have are design projects that span several months, we just finished our first realised production, which means I got to see my design in action on stage for the first time!!!
Have you had a creative project spanning several months? How have you set up spreads to keep track of all the different dates/deadlines and moving parts/ tasks for the project? If you haven't, how would you do it?
And don't worry about the mess, you should see our design studio, it's like a bomb site with costume rails squeezed in!!

Just wanted to add - if anyone is interested in bullet journaling but the blank pages intimidate you, Passion Planners are a great middle ground between planners and bullet Journals. It allows a lot of flexibility and customization like a bujo, but has the standard month layouts and days broken down to the hour. I love mine!
I would like to see more videos on bullet journaling because it would be great organized drawings that I'll do the next day.
