Karnataka was the first state to adopt the three-language formula and incorporate Hindi into our school curriculum. We welcomed everyone with open arms and made them feel at home. However, as Hindi speakers realized their influence in Bangalore, they began to show disregard for the local culture, traditions, and the Kannada language. Initially, it was assumed that they were not well-informed, so we remained silent. Despite the three-language policy, we started to notice only two languages being predominantly used, with Hindi taking precedence over Kannada. Many public places began to operate solely in Hindi, and efforts to promote the use of Kannada were met with resistance, particularly in banks, post offices, theatres, and various other establishments. We began to assert our demand for Kannada to be recognized everywhere but were labelled as anti-nationals for doing so. We were even told to leave the country if we didn't speak Hindi. Furthermore, a large number of migrants who came to Bangalore showed reluctance to learn Kannada, despite it being the native language. With regard to employment, Kannadigas were intentionally overlooked in the hiring process due to biased recruiters. There were instances where Kannadigas were unaware of numerous job openings within an industry due to the involvement of third-party consultancy that brought candidates from their state. Regarding the hoisting of the national flag, there are protocols that must be adhered to. It should not be raised haphazardly, as this would be disrespectful. This resistance towards people from North India is gradually evolving into animosity. It is essential for those who relocate to embrace the native culture and language. Kannadiga boasts a remarkable history and a language that dates back at least 2000 years. We take great pride in our language and are determined to preserve it without any form of replacement. We can draw inspiration from a Hindi saying: "jaisa desh vaisa bhesh," which means adapting to the customs of the place where you reside. Therefore, while in Karnataka, embrace being a Kannadiga. Failure to respect the native culture may foster animosity and have detrimental effects on the unity of our nation. To uphold national unity, it is imperative to acknowledge that South Indians are indeed Indian, and their culture and languages are an integral part of our nation.
Very well said 💯. All 4 South Indian languages are more than 2000 yrs of literary heritage, should be preserved as they all have rare distinction of being Classical languages as per Indian Constitution.
Hindi is not national language. If you stay in Karnataka for more than 3 years, you should make attempts to learn Kannada. Don't ask them to learn Hindi. Because they don't expect you to talk to them in Kannada in Delhi.

Bad people exist everywhere, but it has gone to extreme cases in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka. It's not as much in Kerala or Telangana or Andhra. In IPL too, it's reflected in the toxic rivalry of CSK and RCB fans. I'm a Rajasthani and my company asked me to shift from Jaipur to Bangalore. This was 2 years ago. So I learned a few Kannada phrases and words to help me with basic things. My first expwrience of Bengaluru: the cab driver doesn't understand English and gives me a stare when I'm taking some time to figure out the words in Kannada. The very next month a group of people comes to my company office and starts heckling the management: got to know later that they were angry about no Kannada boards in the building. The company and my colleagues were nice, but the campus where I lived, it almost felt as if there was a kind of border between north Indians and south Indians. During a conversation, one of my Tamil colleagues nonchalantky said that north Indians come and take away money from south. Like dude, if I'm generating a value of 4 lakhs, I'm getting paid 2 lakh. Out of that, I spend more than half of it in the local markets and rent. I save 50k and use the rest for some trip to nearby places, which goes into the local economy too. The 2 lakh of profit ingenerate for my company is invested back into the local economy in some form or other. I'm giving back much more to your state than I'm getting from it. Plus, there always is that stereotype that if you're from north, you must be uneducated. I got so many questions like "how do you guys get water", "were you married in your childhood too ?" Just because I'm from Rajasthan. We're in 2024. It's not 20th century anymore, grow up guys.

The Bihari Story: A Tale of Political Corruption and Identity Crisis Phase 1: Political Corruption and Neglect of Native Languages (Post-Independence) In the years following India's independence, Bihar's politicians prioritized allegiance to Hindi-speaking central leaders over promoting their native languages, such as Maithili, Bhojpuri, and Magahi. This pursuit of personal power led to the neglect of Bihar's development, despite being a mineral-rich state. The "freight equalization policy" further hindered industrial growth, as companies opted for coastal regions over landlocked Bihar. Phase 2: Consequences of Freight Equalization (41 Years) The freight equalization policy lasted for 41 years, during which Bihar missed out on numerous opportunities. By the time it ended in 1993, the state was in ruins, plagued by political hooliganism. Bihari languages became associated with B-grade movies, and people fled to neighboring states for work, often settling in slums. The term "Bihari" became derogatory across India. Phase 3: The Rise of Brilliant Bihari Minds (UPSC) Despite the challenges, brilliant minds from Bihar excelled in the UPSC exams. However, they often abandoned their Bihari identity in the process. Phase 4: The Middle Class and Hindi Nationalism (IT and ITES Boom) The IT and ITES boom led to the migration of Bihari middle-class individuals to IT hubs. While they retained their identity, they distanced themselves from the labor class and embraced Hindi nationalism, seeking respect as Hindi speakers rather than Biharis. Why Others Hate Biharis: Three Reasons 1. Laborers' willingness to work for low wages and in poor conditions, making them difficult to compete with. 2. The significant number of IAS and IPS officers from Bihar, leading to a perceived dominance in state governments. 3. The new generation's boastful display of Hindi, sometimes coming across as superior or colonial, inducing resistance from native populations.

It was not the South that made ‘Bihari’ equivalent to an abusive bad word. Hate against Bihar is true, but selectively targeting Indians from the South is not right. That is a completely false allegation. The two most industrialized states in India are Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu; one in North and one in South. And anybody who has been in both states for employment, will say that Maharashtra is much more inclusive than Tamil Nadu. Shiv Senna are very liberal; they are practically branch of RSS. Some politicians say some things for votes but Marathas never took them seriously, instead they criticize those politicians themselves. Meanwhile Tamil Nadu has a party like DMK and I can't even write the things they do and say; otherwise this comment will be automatically removed by UA-cam.
Gujarat is the third most industrialized state. Many Bengalis work there. They are well respected. Gujarati people are culturally businessmen. So, they maintain a good relation with everybody. Bengalis have a deep cultural root with Gujarati and Marwaris. They used to trade with North East India through Bengal for thousands of years. Even before 1971 in Bangladesh, there were Gujarati-Marwari towns in Bangladesh or East Pakistan. I am a Bangladeshi and my maternal grandfather is Zoroastrian. As a bangali I can say, I lived in Karnataka Hubli city. I never faced any racism for language. I communicated with hindi. They understand Hindi but speak a little bit. Autowala, bus driver, police they always cooperate with me very well. There were also many people from Odisha, Mumbai even from Kashmir. I think the attitude matters, 'what's my attitude towards them.' Also I never felt that I am outside of India. Hubli is a very beautiful city with lots of greenery. But I don't know about Tamilnadu. I have never been there.
South Indians hate north indians never I have seen hate against Biharis in south india if they hate a place or region tthen that is Delhi because south people think that Delhi people are racist to everyone..it is my real experience after living several year in kakrnataka
How fragmented have we become, Biharis getting hated by Karnataka, Karnataka getting hate from tamil nadu, tamil nadu getting hate be another state and the cycle continues. How come the south or north call the other illiterate if you do the same to one another. Come on man we are Indians first then come your state and religion and language. Kannada, tamil , telugu malayalam have been given the status of classical language of India. The Constitution provides immense respect to these languages but we don't. It's high time that we start to blame and curse the corrupt officials, thieves, rapists, anti-social elements of the society rather than hating each other on the basis of residence, language, caste etc. All hail Indian culture, we are divided in language but united as Indians.
✅ Fact : Bihari People Hated & Insulted all over India. Some people says we love Biharis and we are not like others. Par woh sab kuchh problem hone par Bihari logo ko bhagate hai apne yaha se.💯

I stay in Bangalore and every time I go out for a walk or to buy anything some people from UP, Bihar etc come and start asking for money by starting aapko Hindi aata hai and all that. I just ignore and walk away. Secondly we tax payers get no security or respect from the government. Karnataka receives only 0.11p for every rupee while Bihar receives Rs 7.06 for every rupee of our hard earned tax. Isint this injustice then ? If people in Bihar are not putting an effort towards education then what is our fault in that ? I agree that government schools are not good but now with internet and media there is a lot that can be done even with a mobile phone. Secondly regarding the local language , everyone is expected to make basic efforts to know the language of the state. I myself used to speak only in Hindi purposly for a long time but I stopped it when I realized that Hindi is just one of the languages of India and not a local language. So I will not be treated like a princess if I don't speak in hindi, punjabi, bhojpuri etc in north india right ? I understand that these labour class people from UP, Bihar, Westbengal, NE etc are innocent in many cases but if they don't make an effort to gel within the culture of the state or educate themselves then notjing will change no matter how much ever taxes the govt takes for them from us

You can take a survey and report the same. More over do not say South Indians are against National Anthem. In Tamilnadu Legislative Assembly, Tamil Anthem is recited during start the Assembly Session and at the end, National Anthem is recited. This is the procedure being followed for long time. TN Governer is delibararely blaming the elected government as if National Anthem is not recited. Do not spread hatred among the people using some incidents happened here and there which will be continued until the end of the planet. North Indians are living happily without any trouble.

The Bihari Story: A Tale of Political Corruption and Identity Crisis
Phase 1: Political Corruption and Neglect of Native Languages (Post-Independence)
In the years following India's independence, Bihar's politicians prioritized allegiance to Hindi-speaking central leaders over promoting their native languages, such as Maithili, Bhojpuri, and Magahi. This pursuit of personal power led to the neglect of Bihar's development, despite being a mineral-rich state. The "freight equalization policy" further hindered industrial growth, as companies opted for coastal regions over landlocked Bihar.
Phase 2: Consequences of Freight Equalization (41 Years)
The freight equalization policy lasted for 41 years, during which Bihar missed out on numerous opportunities. By the time it ended in 1993, the state was in ruins, plagued by political hooliganism. Bihari languages became associated with B-grade movies, and people fled to neighboring states for work, often settling in slums. The term "Bihari" became derogatory across India.
Phase 3: The Rise of Brilliant Bihari Minds (UPSC)
Despite the challenges, brilliant minds from Bihar excelled in the UPSC exams. However, they often abandoned their Bihari identity in the process.
Phase 4: The Middle Class and Hindi Nationalism (IT and ITES Boom)
The IT and ITES boom led to the migration of Bihari middle-class individuals to IT hubs. While they retained their identity, they distanced themselves from the labor class and embraced Hindi nationalism, seeking respect as Hindi speakers rather than Biharis.
Why Others Hate Biharis: Three Reasons
Ias ips koi economy ka indicator nahin
All you have said right but Bihari talent not only confined to upsc but also recently they are doing very well in IT sector
I lived in Chennai for almost 10yrs and in 2022 shifted from Chennai. I never faced any discrimination as a Bihari but as a Hindi speaking north Indian. We Indians from South didn’t raise ‘Ek Bihari Sau Bimari’, we didn’t coin Bihar as ‘Bimaru’, it was not South people but in Maharashtra where immigrants were regularly abused and beaten by MNS and Shiv Sena Workers.

If there is a single stick then it can be broken easily. However, if there are a bunch of sticks then cant be broken.
Our country is just like that. If we as a country rise above the idea of regionalism and embrace the idea of India, where we cherish unity in diversity, only then we can survive.
We tend to forget that our idea of unity as Indians is our biggest strength.
Just remember how many enemies we have along our borders, they would surely not discriminate us based on from which region we belong to, if and when they attack us. It is only our unity which is protecting us from an invasion and allowing us some kind standing in the world.
