I belong from eastern UP. When my nana was 16 yrs old he went to visit his maternal grandmother. But a few villagers kidnapped him because he was 6ft tall and a very handsome fair skinned young boy. My nana's father used to work in kolkata so there was adequate wealth. So he was also kidnapped for 'pakdawa vivah'. 😂 He was so scared but he gained his strength during the haldi ceremony and asked people for permission to go pee. He then went down to pee and literally ran away from there and straight landed at his home in langoti. 😂

3 years back I was attending a relative’s wedding in Rajgir region. I had only visited Rajgir prior once when I was a kid. I did not have any idea about this sort of wedding. So when I visited Rajgir 3 years ago, my dad introduced me to one of his relative who was kidnapped and married in a similar fashion back in 90’s.
Fast forward to the day of barat, I was on another car with strangers. All the cars were on the highway when all of a sudden, the car in which I was travelling took a detour onto a kutcha road. Now, since this story of kidnapping was fresh in my mind, I was literally shitting myself. I sent emergency messages and location to my friends😂😂😂. But it turned out that our car had taken a wrong turn due to fog in December. But i was really scared.

He was telling me about the good culture and food that they have in his city. I jokingly said to him, "Bro, take me to Begusarai, once!", and he replied, "Bhai, agar tumko le gaye apne saath, to tumko kidnap krke tmhara kisi k bhi saath shaadi kara diya jayega" (Bro, if I take you with me, you will be kidnapped and forcefully married to anyone).
I never went. That thought scared my soul. Only God can save Bihar and its mentality.

Men play, after taking dowry make women bear kids against forcing them to stay with their parents, leave their parents, use marriage not give anything to them. I'm from district Bhojpur that is adjacent to Patna and even I have never heard of it. But our districts are much more developed compared to some distant districts in Bihar and there's a high chance that these things are fairly common in those districts although we don't hear it often because these type of sensitive topics are suppressed and not reported due to social pressure.

Becoz in bihar without dowry marrige is not possible...even a poor farmer who have nothing to give as dowry, he has to arrange dowry anyhow like taking loan from people and bank.. And parents of boy feel proud to take high dowry as money value of their son... हां, ऐसे ही बिल्कूल इसी तरह के घटना में बगल वाले गांव में हुआ था आज से लगभग 2 साल पहले।
मेरे बगल वाले गांव में बहुत सारे भूमिहार जाति के लोग रहते हैं वहां पर एक 25-30 के उम्र के लड़के का शादी हुआ था।
जब उनका शादी हुआ तब वह नए - नए अपने नौकरी की शुरुआत की थी साथ ही उनके पास बहुत सारे और भी प्रकार के संपति थी - जैसे गांव में बहुत सारे जमीन, शहर में अपना एक अपार्टमेंट, एक Scorpio.
और जब वह अपने नौकरी से घर ले लिए लौट रहें थे तब उनके कुछ लोगों ने किडनैप किया और दो दिनों तक वह आदमी किडनैपर के पास रहा और फिर उनके बाद वह घर आए तो साथ अपने अपनी पत्नी लाए।
और बाद में पता चला कि ये सब उनके कुछ खास रिश्तेदार द्वारा ही किया गया था जो पकड़ौवा शादी में शामिल थे।
