Hey …that is how to play a guitar to show an amp…great raw recording and staccato picking so I can hear the tube tone through my phone , your the greatest man on the internet
IDK, I'm hearing a similar EQ to a Bassman or JTM 45. I suspect that what it's being fed is going to push it more into an instantly effective mixable range, not unlike a lot of popular guitar amps; does it have a lot of low end that is ultimately not going to be heard, and is consuming available power? No doubt, but that is also affecting the gain characteristics and dynamic sensitivity. Particularly with a higher rated speaker, the cleans could be extended into a higher volume range. I've had great experiences using the Hudson Broadcast in EQing a broad range of tube amps. The bass cut knob is great for switching between standard and baritone guitars( even if that " standard" is most often down tuned .) It's a nice alternative to just conceding that the Princeton is the best amp design, period.
Mine is on the way. I love an amp where pedals are optional but I get tube distortion. This looks like it. I plan on using my tone bender and maybe my Boss Blues Driver but that’s about it pedal wise. The plus to me is getting the break up at low volumes but not using my modeling amp. I’ve got a Fender Blues Jr too but wanted built in OD. Thanks for the great demo.
I bought the Delta King 10 from Guitar Center and love the tone, touch and punch from only a 5 watt amp. However 6 months into owning it the reverb pot seems to be crapping out and now is not working at all (No Reverb). I don't want to open the reverb box because I'm afraid it will void the warranty. I also think it could be the 6V6 crapping out prematurely but it's hard to say because I'm afraid to replace the tube because it might void the warranty. SUPRO so far has not returned my emails or phone calls which is disappointing to say the least. So great sounding amps and very cool looks but to be determined on their customer service.
Update. Supro sent me a new reverb tank and cables and after that didn't solve the issue on a hunch I loosened the flat hex nut on top of the reverb pot and the reverb was back in full. However If the nut is tightened (by hand) or if downward pressure is put on the pot knob the reverb will cut out again. Supro is going to replace the bad pot under warranty.

Less interesting w/lipstick humbucker. The neck p90 was okay sort of in between the casino and the sg. Rick 325 - I was sorely disappointed. The toaster pickups just couldn’t drive the thing. Just to make sure that the 325 didn’t have a problem, I plugged it into the little vox there and with the emulated AC30 mode it sounded great. Plugged it back into the Supro and was bereft of joy.
The Supro is good for what it does but it makes more sense to me to get one of those monoprice stage right tube 15 things for half the price. It's way more versatile
1 watt or 15 watt power mode, real spring reverb with foot switch, FX loop, external speaker jack. Takes pedals incredibly well. Apparently the newer ones have an updated Celestion speaker and come with JJ tubes. What more could you ask for?
@@zombiemontage Sounds like a really decent amp. I've always used solid state and was looking at tube amps. Might honestly pick up a Monoprice for fun at that price!

My local guys have a few of these coming in over the next couple weeks. Hoping to get my hands on the 12 inch speaker version. I’m sure these also can plenty loud when you dime the input volume and the master? I’m already of the opinion that this blows the Blues Junior away.

Great amp! Honestly, I bought the Blues King 12 - which seemed like a sensation WAY back in 2019 - the day they were discontinued, through Sweetwater in what was an amazing deal ($299) at Christmas. LOVE it. Still a little ticked off that the footswitch became impossible to find on that day (they are, literally, impossible to find), but the Boss FS-6 works fine. My theory is that the BK12 did a lot of what the pricier Supros do for a third of the price, so Supro cut the out in favor of even smaller amps, but brought this version back. Really dig the color. Unknown, though, why Supro would offer the same amp, minus the loop. Perhaps it's meant to hold that spot in the lineup but relieve some marketing pressure on the top line amps.
@Dan Pugatch They are remarkable. Mine's just a tone monster. All those really creamy, edge of breakup-to-compressed tube sounds are just right there. Like you, I keep the boost switch on mostly, and push the rest with pedals.
I managed to score the matching pedal for this amp in January on eBay. If you're patient, you'll score one. I bought the BK12 in August at full price😬. I didn't have a clue that it was getting rebadged, otherwise I would have waited until clearance sales. Anyway, it's got the most reactive EQ I've ever used. Plus, the pick sensitivity is remarkably awesome. That stood out the most to me. When you dime this in just right and sit 5 feet directly in front of the amp, you get hit with gorgeous clean tone. The downside is this amp has a directional speaker. If you're not at the right spot, you don't hear the highs as well. The reverb is very different from others I've heard. Got a long tail to it and that's not bad. It's a fun amp. A bit crunchy and fuzzy on the gain which I normally don't care for in most amps/effects, but since it gets into Zeppelin I territory, that's just fine with me.
According to the Supro website, the Blues King 12 is still available and features a 12AX7 tube preamp into 12AU7 triode power amp, while the Delta King 12 has a 12AX7 tube preamp into a 6L6 tube power amp. So there is a difference between the two, but not much.
I had a Blues King 10 for a week. I returned it promptly due to it dropping output (loss of volume). Was pretty disturbing. Was my first time getting a new piece of gear and seeing it fail before my eyes.
Great review of a very nice Supro (now d'Angelico) amp...good to see D'angelico getting guys like you to show off their stuff... Love the headstock on the D' guitar...as cool as the tweed on the Supro Delta King 12 amp. Good Job... for anyone who can't afford one of these look out for a Blues King 12...virtually the same amp for half the price...any colour you like as long as it is black... and it has one feature more. regards
Played one this afternoon next to a Deluxe Reverb, and I was really impressed with it. The presence was outstanding and the tone was sculpted really well, and the reverb was surprisingly musical. The distorted switch seemed a little gimmicky to me, but that’s not my style anyway. Given the choice between a Blues Jr and this-low watt tube amp with reverb and the ability to get gritty-I think I’d probably take this. That being said, my standard is a Pro Jr with a Flint: I wonder how it would compare side by side.
I got the precursor to the delta king just as they transitioned over to the new model, the gain switch is surprisingly usable. it gets pretty close to a bluesbreaker when cranked. its super gigabel as well. its probably the best amp I've ever bought
Thanks for a thorough review. I think it's worth pointing out (if you didn't), you're using a ribbon mic which will capture the low end beefiness. This will sound completely different through an SM57 which everybody owns and most use. Why, I don't know. Proximity effect will help if that's what you're after. Lovely amp, me want.

Awesome job man !!!!
For a 15w tube amp to play some surf, would you get this or a Blues Junior? What about if you also wanted to play a modeler through it?
Did I understand you correctly that the master volume still works with the power amp in? Sorry for resurrecting this
Thanks!
I can see the gears in your head moving lol. Awesome review
I just recently purchased this amp and I love it. Would you recommend always leaving the standby switch on?
Fantastic! What mic are you using??
What makes it different from the Blue King 12?
no fx loop and new tolex styles
I had a Blues King 10 for a week. I returned it promptly due to it dropping output (loss of volume). Was pretty disturbing. Was my first time getting a new piece of gear and seeing it fail before my eyes.
weird, glad you were able to return it.
@@vividvulpe9842 That was probably just a power tube going out. Very easy to damage tubes in shipping.
@@remyrising i actually did a fresh swap myself! No luck ☹️
Great review of a very nice Supro (now d'Angelico) amp...good to see D'angelico getting guys like you to show off their stuff... Love the headstock on the D' guitar...as cool as the tweed on the Supro Delta King 12 amp. Good Job... for anyone who can't afford one of these look out for a Blues King 12...virtually the same amp for half the price...any colour you like as long as it is black... and it has one feature more. regards
That sure is a beautiful guitar
I retired my Blues jr after decades since having bought this piece
Love your demos. Will this keep up with a band? Does it need to be biased? Thanks!
Best spring reverb I've ever heard.
I wonder how easy to change tubes ? Easy access or have to remove chassis ?
Seems like a perfect studio amp. I’ll take two.

@@60CycleHumcast I am the wave of the future. Also my new album has a song called Territorial Drippings. An ode to the two greats Cobaine and Ryan Burke. Also stereo.
I’m so gonna get this! It may not do that tight, thrash metal thing, but I can guarantee you it will doom (maybe not your Sunn O))) kind of drone doom, but I have no doubt that it’ll do Sabbath, Sleep, and Electric Wizard very well)
Good review, I have seen 3 of then on youtube now! Your review is more informative though. Thanks!
Thank you for testing it at bedroom level!!!
what kind of mic you using here? thanks
How is the stage right tube 15 these days - follow up ?
Doesn't sound like a Fender, AND highly affordable?
highly affordable? meh..... it does sound nice though
@@ramspencer5492 500.00 FOR A SMALL TUBE AMP....Meh.
@@MrGixxer1300r yeah. It's way overpriced. 5 watts. Agreed. $300 as a pretty, vanity practice amp you could record with.... Sounds about right.
Monoprice makes a $250 15 watt blues jr knockoff that's probably 85% there sound-wise.
@@MrGixxer1300r yeah. definitely not $500+ dollars nice. That's laughable.
What make guitar is the Beautiful red and white he is playing in he very beginning. I need one. Thanks.
God knows I don’t need another Amplifier…!!!
But I have one of these coming Saturday , yesterday, I just unpacked a, Eppiphone Century 12 20 1939, Reissue….🙄👀
I got one ordered but getting cold feet. Thinking about switching to Marshall DLS40 CR. Looks cool, sounds good,
Get the Marshall.

We have an A/C current of 50 cycles per second (Hertz, Hz) in Europe. I wonder if that makes any difference?

How many bars of Seven Nation Army or Sunshine of Your Love does it take before the video gets demonetized?
Supro makes incredible nice tremolo's. Ryan, if you find a good clone than let us know.
Is this useable for small gigs?
Ryan -- at the end of the video, you said to not "expect a 15W amp to overtake a drum set", and given your love of Princetons -- have you tried any of the Princeton FSR's with 12" speakers? I just purchased a Princeton Reverb FSR with a 12" Celestion Blue, and having cranked it to '6' so far, I can't imagine it not working with a live band. It only started breaking up at 5.5... and I was already deaf. :)
I have not tried those. My personal experience is with some pretty loud bands, so take it with a grain of salt lol.
@@60CycleHumcast What amps do you gig with then with your band? Is your rig different in that situation, and how? Thanks!
@@rwp42 with my surf band I use a vintage acoustic control 150, it’s a solid stage amp from the 70s with a massive amount of clean headroom. In my more punk oriented bands I’d use an peavey classic 50. I like smaller amps for home recording and stage situations with a good sound system.
Did they give it to you? Why do all the reviewers suddenly have these at the same time?
Because it’s a product launch. Yes they gave it to me and they are paying my demo fee.
@@60CycleHumcast I was just frustrated, because people reviewing weren't saying the "full disclosure" thing to start the video Thanks for the straight up answer. Enjoy your channel. 😎
