- Battlefield 5 is broken. Or Imbalanced. I don't know. But i have been upgrading my BF5 American P51 Mustang when i found out how SUPERIOR Germany's BFV BF109 is

Is it a bad thing that almost every match I join in Al Sudan the Americans always manage to control over the air? I legit find only 1 other person flying in a bomber while the others are flying P51 fighters. Usually on the ground there is always one AA vehicle always watching the sky.

It was great they added these new specs to the german planes while we were trying to level up the US planes. So you go up in a lvl 0 US mustang vs a buffed bf-109. GG Dice

Dice has already stated the P-51s high altitude package is bugged. It is supposed to be fixed in the next update, but that won't be for a while. That being said they need to give the Spitfire something to counter the 109s as well.
Yeah I hope they rather buff the other planes than nerf the G-6. It is strong, yes but I'd rather see the american planes be upgraded. Brits are fine. Honestly the Spitfire with 100000000 guns on it can destroy the G6 just fine.
They need to remove the upgrade entirely. It is the most unbalanced upgrade in the game and there is no counter to it unless you have the upgrade yourself. You are essentially immune in said flight ceiling and your enemies options are stall trying to challenge you or back off and let you get on their tail. I cannot believe DICE hasn’t addressed this exploit yet.
Talking bout a High altitude package and seeing 200 meters higher just actually makes me laugh. The FLight ceiling in bf5 is way too low anyways. bf3 had a way better map design in that regard.
You know, instead of dealing with all of this why don't they make it speed based?

Last thing you didn't mentioned about the G6 with the HAP. Planes will dust all their shots when the G6 reach its ceiling (another broken mechanic we can had to that plane)

I believe the P-51 had a higher ceiling than the BF-109.

Would like to see Dice add readouts for altitude and speed in planes.
This applies definitely in war thunder. German planes energy (energy meaning that the plane focuses more on something than anything else) is high altitude, well American planes energy is speed. also Japanese (and probably British) planes energy is maneuverability. I don't know if this will help you in battlefield, but it's worth the experiment.

So happy a big name covered this topic. The 109 G-6 is so absurdly overpowered against any other aircraft on both the British and American factions. The only other aircraft that has a slim chance of countering it is the Mosquito Mk II, which also has the high altitude package. However, we all know that mosquitos are nowhere near as maneuverable as a 109.
I think spitfire VB has high altitude package but I haven’t tried it.

@@youretrashmate8253 yep, on top of that the spitfire has the worse guns for combating enemy fighters. The only thing really going for the spitfire is it’s rockets which are good against everything.

Nuff said. But it's Battlefield so never expect things to represent reality. Just like them turning Japanese tanks to something that resembles a Abrams M1A1 in speed and canon power and turning Sherman's into something that moves like a sloth and explodes if you breath near it.
Or if your a PC player, just run a damage multiplier hack on your planes guns like many I've had to face since the BF5 release and of course never banned no matter how many times they're get reported. Don't get me started on this subject....

The Bf-109 is overpowered vs the spitfire, no one can climb like the bf does XD
because the Bf-109's are faster and have better climb rate. Its simple knowledge
Well, what i usually do when im against HA users: i follow them up for like 2-3 secs then i just nose dive back (decouple pilot view is the best thing ever) and i start climbing again and meet the BF half way. This works like 90% of the times, specially cuz they spam smoke so they cant see that u actually stopped climbing with them.

Yeah I’ve been saying for a while the flight ceiling upgrade is broken. It feels as if there’s seamlessly no counter to it if you don’t have the upgrade for yourself.

The tactic is called Boom and Zoom, the plane was made to go high altitudes and then careening forth back towards the earth.
to be honest .. it is a nice small realistic feature in the game. The germans and the soviets had a technic to solve the power drop in big high. They use piston engin´s with compressors. That combination allows them to fly even higher than the US or Brit-fighter. Yes it was unfair but it is a true fact that they have used here in BF .. and i have to say it .. i like it.
I love the fact the messerchitts are so powerful, I like to blast German wartime songs while I fly and just melting US planes feels so good. But I won’t lie, it gets boring to not have a challenge while flying, the Spitfires are harder to kill but barely, I can still one-strafe them with rockets and sustained mg fire. If a spitfire gets on a bf109, the 109 is likely to die, it relies on having the starting advantage and being faster. The P-51 in the hands of a competent pilot is hard to kill with a G-2 which is my preferred plane. Not using the high alt pack makes you better at flying and that’s a fact. I have to say overall the G-6 is the better dog fighter and those rockets are great for cheesing tank kills. But with the right timing and proper knowledge using the G-2 is so much more satisfying, especially when you kill a tank with those 2 50kg bombs. It’s absolutely awesome to get a quad kill with them as well, and the way it moves and the skins available for it just combine to make it so badass. I love the G-2 and only ever take the G-6 when I need to cull the AA tanks late game.

Imo high altitude pack is a pretty bs upgrade, i just usually go for bigger bombs and upgrades that are good AT and AI

There have been players abusing this exploit by camping the spawn and using high altitude giving everyone no chance...Advanced pilots and beginner pilots abusing this. British planes have no chance either since no added specialization for them when bf109 got more to compete with p51s.

This explains a lot. Had no idea about the altitude glitch. However, the g-6 is a goddamn monster regardless. It’s pretty much untouchable.
4:05 because its a Bf-109, it has more power. The P-51 can outturn the Bf-109, so its fair (and realistic) that the Bf-109 can out climb the P-51
P51-d, high altitude, air brakes. The only way that you can even stand a chance against this is assuming that you can get behind him. You can outstall him with the air brakes and keep up with him at high altitudes

Wasn't this said from literally the launch of the game, that the Spitfire would have better maneuverability but the BF109 would have a higher max altitude?
Bf109 g6 has added improved turning specialization added in last update, plus nitrous, plus high altitude

I was playing bf5 and the wirblewind with the OST wind upgrade absolutely destroyed my p51k
I met an amazing pilot on Fjell a long time ago who used the high altitude package on his BF109 and deliverd death with skill during our dog fights. The only pilot ive seen using this technique on xbox. I would take him down a few times when i came on his 6 but he would most of the time do this manuver and evade untill he was on my 6.
I didnt adapt to this way of flying through the rest of my battlefield carer, even though it was a better dogfighting technique. Because I prefer a more balanced plane between attack and fighter. But fun to see that people are actually using this mannuver. Though not in this broken way though.

Realistically the P-51's service ceiling was so much higher than the bf-109's. I think with all the movies and shows promoting how powerful the p-51 was, Dice wanted to try and combat this. But it's absolutely hilarious when a bf-109 just dives down on a stalling p-51 and destroys it in two seconds.

The reason they’re so powerful in war thunder is because generally speaking allied teams don’t use American aircraft for the purpose intended. The Bf109 has great energy retention which makes them a great energy fighter. I find a lot of allied pilots seem to always turn fight them in a P-47 completely bleeding their own energy.
Reason that 109's are so powerful in WT is because wehraboos own the game. They simply cannot comprehend a Spitfire beating a 109 so they winge and cry on reddit so Gaijin changes it. Same for their tanks too.

It's not broken, the 109 has a higher altitude limit to begin with. So even without the upgrade, it will always fly higher than other planes. 😔😐

In real life planes have different altitudes, and there is already an imbalance for each side so it might be intended.

If you didn’t know, they nerfed the 2 500lb bombs in the pacific. Now they do less explosive damage and more irreparable damage, so they’re a 2 pass kill instead of a one shot kill. The 1000lb bomb has more explosive damage and less impact damage but 500s have more impact and less explosive. Previously the 1000lb bomb did more unrepairable damage but now they do the same unrepairable damage
I once got chased by 4 BF 109s in my A 20 and I outclimbed them all except for 1 which had rockets installed. I only survived because of the sharp turns I was doing around the hills and mountains and because the game ended right as I was on 8 health.
And yes it had the high altitude package and was fully upgraded.

Yeah when I was playing earlier I had the high alt off and was using the weapon cooling upgrade on my G6 when the Mustang with a high alt started trying to use the flight ceiling to his advantage until I switched my upgrades and flew past him he decided he got got and crashed not letting me get the kill
This is a slight disadvantage if you're chasing someone, but you can use it as an advantage over it by stalling out when someone is on your tail.
