Got to give props to LSU for actually traveling outside of the south to face an opponent. Unlike most SEC teams.
Yeah...the brave, courageous SEC! SEC teams come out west about once every ten years. And, by the way, UCLA is 6-1 against SEC schools in football.

@@AR18123 LSU won in 2019. The past 3 seasons an SEC team has won it all and you just want to disregard the LSU win because it was 3 seasons ago? Since 2000, the PAC 12 has one “official” national championship. And that’s the AP one, who most consider to not even be a legit national championship

That's not a statement win. LSU is ONLY ranked because they are in the SEC. They aren't much better than last year and they were absolutely laughable last year

They've had good athletes for a few seasons now. The problem is they way they've shot themselves in the foot so many times in big games and situations. They could do some real damage this season if they can get that under control.

Damn. I'm a USC fan but this game this early in the season already had the bowl games atmosphere and vibe. Both teams were playing top notch and flying around like they're in mid season form. Very impressive.

@@epp6787 SEC fans don’t seem to get it. SEC country has nothing going for it sports wise, that’s why your stadiums are packed. Alabama doesn’t have anything else going for it out there besides Alabama/auburn football. Same with Arkansas, Missouri, LSU, UGA, etc.
UCLA is competing with: USC and tons of other things to do out in SoCal like night life and people have very successful professional teams to route for. Multiple MLB, NFL, NBA franchises to route for.

Sorry to tell you but if the packers aren’t playing what else are all those people going to tune into if not a Wisconsin game? Looks like Chip kelly finally got the recruitment that he needed.
This UCLA team was built by Kelly 4 years ago. They were 15 points from being undefeated last year. Every loss was by less than a touchdown. They are good this year.
He had this team, they were just freshman an under developed..
All he needed was time to build a talented roster of guys who all wanted to be there and participate in his vision.

As an LSU fan to see our defense get mauled like this is saddening. UCLA ran crazy on us and I couldn’t tell you the last time we’ve had a non-SEC back run through us like that.

Should have been benched for even attempting that stupid behind the back pass in the red zone an that overthrow to the TE that hit the safety in the chest for an INT...He was missing open receivers all game with horrific high throws.

This is a perfect illustration of the stupidity of the college football ranking system. It's pretty obvious that UCLA is a better football team than LSU. Yet LSU was ranked#16 and UCLA was not even ranked at all. That makes no sense.

Been going to Bruins games for decades and the Rose Bowl hasn't felt like last night years! The break between the 3rd & 4th quarter was rockin'!! Bruins fans have the rep for being indifferent (deservedly so, ha!) but last night shows that if you put out a quality product, there's a ton of support for this program. This fan base is starving to see competitive and entertaining football again. This is Chip Kelly's most complete and talented Bruins team so far...no more excuses. Go Bruins!!!
My God. UCLA's TE1 and RB1 are going to be playing on Sundays sooner rather than later. They put on a show against a tough team.

Let me explain something to you: there’s a reason why SEC teams don’t really do REAL road games out of conference: the results aren’t that pretty. It’s nice and all fun n games when you can play at a not-so “neutral” site in Texas or Atlanta where you have a 70-30% fan advantage, whole different ball game when you come out west. UCLA is 4/5 vs the SEC in their last 5, fact of the matter is the SEC avoids these match ups much of the time. Plenty of SEC programs have declined true head to heads in the past.
That being said, UCLA beat LSU and are simply better than them.

I'm a ucla fan and that has been true in the recent history. the 90s bruins were smash mouth but they got soft in the 2000's. Now that they have a a good coach in my opinion, they should be able to make some big boy moves for a change.

Certainly no way to compete at the highest level in any sport. Let's see how they pan out before we crown or trash either team. I’m a diehard Michigan fan but I always love seeing SEC teams lose and I love UCLA’s uniforms and colors so I’m happy they won. It’s also good seeing charbonnet play so well. He was buried on the depth chart a Michigan but will get lots of play time at UCLA.
Probably not happy that the SEC has won 11 of the last 15 Natty’s I guess. I was in Arlington in 2012 when the Maze and Blue were run out of

Unbelievably strange the breakout year LSU had in 2019. The two prior seasons they have been shadows of that 2019 team.

Last year all there players left. That made sense a little bit. We will see how they’ll look the rest of the year. Maybe UCLA is a team. Who knows it’s very early. LSU has dudes though, but they had what 7 first rounders on that 19 team?

When Chip took over at Oregon. He was already in a system that was trending up. He was the offensive coordinator and he moved up to head coach position.
When he took over at UCLA, he basically had to start from scratch and build his own system. But now he’s got those boys bought in. They are physical and nasty and big. That O-Line is thick.
Been watching UCLA football since 97. I’ve gone through a lot of heart breaks with these teams. So happy to have a SQUAD!!!

@@fredleeland2464 I think Oregon is still the class of the conference, they overlooked a good Fresno state squad while looking ahead to OSU and played really sloppy. Doesn’t help being down Kayvon thib, and both starting safety and DB. But I fully expect them to pick things up and ultimately win the conference and possibly even upset OSU next week. UCLA could finish 3-4th in my opinion. I think UCS has a nasty D line this year with 5 star foreman and jackson at DE who will be a first rounder. Then I think Utah and possibly Arizona state can also be ahead of UCLA. That being said UCLA was disrespected all week Quite frankly, they have lost many games under chip but they’ve slowly been improving. These are all his guys. They will continue to be solid moving forward. As for tonight, UCLA bullied LSU and showed them they CAN run it on a SEC Defense. Humble pie

Ucla is definately not the 4th-6th best team in the conference you dope. Washington lost to freakin montana, oregon is shit and has a shit qb, arizona state is facing potential sanctions, ucla is on a revenge tour against utah for all the previous year and i guarantee will smack utah sideways and make those mormon boys cry. The only team that looks fairly good in the pac 12 right now other than ucla is usc. I would put usc number 1 and ucla 2 based on results so far. If ucla dominates fresno state then oregon is a total farce.

First of all, LSU got lucky when their QB blindly heaved a duck into traffic. But I like the blitzing - Kelly just had no fear in this game. The LSU QB actually made some great plays with people in his face. But they couldn't stop our run game. And that opened up the passing game. Oregon barely beat Fresno St. USC struggled early against San Jose St. We are legit shot to win Pac 12 now. Both lines looked very good today.

Agreed with everything you said, except you forgot that Fresno State & San Jose State are actually both tough opponents. Even Montana is a powerhouse from the Div II. You shouldn't be fooled by the blind fans who overlook some of the tougher football programs that come from lesser known conferences.
Well I enjoyed the game as we have suffered for so long. It was a good win for me. Hope they can keep it up.

You can’t take anything away from UCLA. This is a very well coached team under Chip Kelly! This is exactly what he did at Oregon with 2 & 3 star recruits! Made it to a national championship! One of only two Teams to make a national championship with 2 & 3 star recruits! (Both happen to be Oregon teams!)
Chip Kelly recruited 4 5stars and 40 4stars in his 5 year tenure at Oregon...
@@ihogz375 while he’s wrong about 2-3 ⭐️ players, those teams were definitely overachieving talent wise. His best classes pale in comparison with what Cristobal is bringing in currently, he rarely ever had a top 15 class and I don’t even think chip Kelly brought in more than 1 top 10 recruiting class if ever. And he STILL made it to 2 championship games and should have beaten auburn if not for the bizarre shin not being down play at the end.

If you look at 60's, 70's and early 80's run schemes at the pro level, you'll see some of the greatest names in Running Back history being escorted around end by some of the greatest names of the O-Line... particularly the teams from the "Black and Blue" Division.

What you saw was UCLA running a clinic in "OLD SCHOOL FOOTBALL" - Lineman pull left, Lineman pull right, Lineman go straight ahead....stop me if you can! lsu has gone on the road before against Oregon and ucla and won both games, so no clue what you are talking about. they have serious issues at qb for the 2nd year in a row and defense playing lackluster
@@hhh1200 LOL no they haven’t. SEC does “neutral” site games where they have the advantage 70-30 in fans. The SEC actually has a LOSING record 6-7 when their ranked teams have traveled in a true road game out west. LSU just lost at UCLA, A&M lost last time at UCLA, Alabama lost last time out west, as did Arkansas, Ole miss, and auburn if I remember correctly. SEC teams have done well at neutral sites in ATL or TEXAS (where it’s basically a home game for them).

USC, couldn't even beat Texas in the Rose Bowl(National Championship 2006) which is a 15 min drive from USC's campus. People allways whines about LSU's advantage playing in the dome(Superdome) but never mentioned USC's(or other Pac teams) advantage playing in Pasadena and losing to a sandlot type team.
