Marqise Lee was a monster for USC that season. He went on to win the Biletnikoff. If Drake London didn't get injured a few weeks ago, he would've been the first to win the award since.
Right USC has always had good receivers since I've been watching. Especially in the 2010s. Lee, Robert Woods, Agohlor, JuJu, Michael Pittman, Amon-Ra St.Brown, Drake London and a few i probably left out
What an absolutely beautiful setting for a football game. The location, the colors......awesome. Every year! It shouldn’t be too hard to recruit top tier talent for these schools?
You’re 100% right, but the other Power 5 conferences have such incredible TV deals that the press and Bowl people just don’t pay attention to the PAC-12 anymore. and the TV packages are a strong incentive for players to leave the state. And neither UCLA or USC have learned to use juco transfers; academic requirements are still too strict.
U would think so I'm pretty sure they both get a few top recruits. But the fact that USC and UCLA ain't what they used to be and that they're in the Pac-12 might make it harder for them to get kids out of state or even in state to play for them. Most kids will want exposure on TV cuz it gives them a better chance to be seen and drafted higher like JuJu was the best receiver to come out of that 2017 class imo and he went 2nd round, Amon-Ra St.Brown is another example of a great receiver going later in the draft. Now exposure might not have been the reason why but i think it might be harder to get your name out there if u aren't on tv as much i could be wrong tho. Also, schools who are winning more and are the best programs such as Bama, Ohio St., Clemson(Maybe not after this season) will get the best recruits. I'm not an expert in recruiting and how team scout players tho so i could be wrong.
19:58 Matt Barkley was never the same after this hit. As a Bruins fan this was payback for the Trojans going for two in 2011 to make it 50-0. Sure Barkley would have liked an NFL career, but Anthony Barr had another idea. Also I was there and boy was it sweet.
My sophomore year in high school i was able to see this UCLA team play at CU in 2012!! Even though CU lost it was a fun game and i got to see Anthony Barr play haha
Did you see that LSU-Alabama game on this channel from 2019? Unbelievable how much NFL talent there was. Joe Burrow, Tua Tagovailoa, Clyde Edwards Helaire, Najee Harris, Justin Jefferson, Jamarr Chase, Jerry Jeudy, Henry Ruggs (yikes), Devonta Smith, Jaylen Waddle, Alex Leatherwood, K'Lavon Chiasson, Patrick Surtain II. All of those guys were first round picks
@@G0Chiefs my point is that the comment was not about Tua in any way, he was merely one in a long list of names. and of course not all first round draft picks work out, that’s just how the world works…
@@G0Chiefs True but give tua time we're so quick to give up on a player if he doesn't come out the gate putting up historic numbers. Yes he was drafted high but he still developing i think he will be find. He just gotta keep grinding and plus it's only his second season
This was the first UCLA-USC game I ever attended. I was an 8 year old kid who got there early before the game with my dad and younger brother. This was Jim Mora’s 1st year in charge and we all were super excited and optimistic that the program was turning in a new, better direction. Just one year on from losing to USC 50-0, I remember being so ecstatic that UCLA won that day, being drenched in the rain was purely an afterthought. Memories that will last me a lifetime. Go Bruins
Fun fact : The distance between USC Trojans football and UCLA Bruins football is 12 miles (20 kilometres) and driving distance from Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum to Rose Bowl (stadium) is 17 miles or 27 kilometers. Travel time by car is 26 minutes. P.S. ; From the UCLA campus to the campus of USC , it’ll take you about 23 min (14.2 miles)
I remember seeing this game on tv and being surprised both teams had the home jerseys. It also had the scrolling ticker at the bottom so its nice to see a clean broadcast truck copy here. But it makes me wonder why the nfl doesn't supply this channel with ticker free copies of their games.
In this game, Gus Johnson was working with Charles Davis, who works on the NFL on CBS now with Ian Eagle, who for 13 years was a colleague of Gus Johnson. Gus is calling an NFL game tomorrow on Fox!
Flemlo Raps lol I've felt like he has talked about this thing. That players will be projected top pick in their junior year and decide to stay and senior year they end up being bad or getting hurt
I listened to this game on the way back from a William & Mary football game (to which I wore a William & Mary shirt and a UCLA ballcap). I wish they still used this typeface for the yardline numbers for UCLA home games. They changed it in 2017. They still use it for the Rose Bowl game.

College football is amazing in nfl throwback
No cap
You can’t have a big college football game without Gus Johnson on the call
Gus Johnson for super bowl
On Sunday he's going to be commentating the Browns and Lions game
It never matters who the teams are, if there's a game, he's willing to call it without any bias whatsoever. You gotta love commentators like that.
Gus Johnson is perfect for any sport

Facts. Marquise Lee should’ve been a Heisman finalist and probably would’ve been if the team were better
Right USC has always had good receivers since I've been watching. Especially in the 2010s. Lee, Robert Woods, Agohlor, JuJu, Michael Pittman, Amon-Ra St.Brown, Drake London and a few i probably left out
This was an amazing game! There was just an energy that day with the rain and everything.
Hundley was a champ! What a fun game that was to watch!
Anthony barr and eric kendricks on UCLA now teammates in Minnesota

Robert Woods
Nelson Agohlar
Leonard Williams
Anthony Barr
Eric Kendricks
Still playing in 2021. That’s insane.
Brett is on the colts
Anthony Barr thought and Eric Kendricks forever Vikings💪🏿

Matt Barkley lol man, most of those players they announced are recognizable and still play in the NFL

That's a tradition in the rivalry SC wears theIr reds UCLA wears their blues.
I think when Neuheisel was coach at UCLA, he lobbied for the home/home jerseys and it eventually changed.
great game! this game had it all
I thought it never rains in southern California, USC and UCLA played this football game in the rain back in November 2012!!
In this game, Gus Johnson was working with Charles Davis, who works on the NFL on CBS now with Ian Eagle, who for 13 years was a colleague of Gus Johnson.
Gus is calling an NFL game tomorrow on Fox!
and all them 3 are on top tier as commentators
I wish Gus would call NFL games permanently again
Look how many people showed up back then
When they still had prestige
What a game 🏈🏈🏆
Cant wait for this years matchup game should be insane 2022
I remember a time Matt Barkley was considering one of the top picks of the draft and his final season in USC was so poor he dropped into oblivion
They were #1 until the Stanford game. After that, oblivion
Flemlo Raps lol I've felt like he has talked about this thing. That players will be projected top pick in their junior year and decide to stay and senior year they end up being bad or getting hurt
This rivalry game is always special. Gus is the best announcer ever too

I Like UCLA Beat USC Rivalry College Football History From The 70s 80s And Early 90s Totally Amazing Badass ☺🏈

More college games please!
Gus Johnson calling a game makes me happy I’m watching the game
Lowered the Barr on Barkley 19:57
Go BRUINS!!!!!!
Imagine going to a game in Pasadena and it rains!
Anthony Barr in the thumbnail?
20:00 good lord! Anthony Barr hit him so hard, I can hear Ray Lewis screaming his head off rn
Gus Johnson is the Goat of announcing.
Robert Woods has been pretty good at football for much of his career.
Bro it’s crazy how many future pros were in this game too bad the other guys weren’t as good to put them over the top
Yea well that's football for u. I think it like 1% maybe closer to 5% of all college football players make it into the league
It's also sad cuz most of these dudes were like the best football players on their high school team
The great thing about this, is that it is on my birthday
great game!
Rain? Where?
Bet no one saw the ref that fell at 13:55 😂
Edit: and at 18:20
Bruh fell on the same spot 😂😂😂
USC: Rams!
UCLA: Chargers!
Man, I wish we could have the picture of USC-UCLA all over football. If the teams doesn't have the same colors, the white shirt should be optional.
UCLA runs LA!
Nah..sc was on probation...for Reggie innocent
@@ickystrashcan....anothersm9749 what about last year wit the number 1 pick yall had at qb?

hi
Stay in your lane lmfao
Usc has to congratulate UCLA and chip Kelly.
Fuck this ain't really USC....this was a sc era with shit coaching...we demand the best
Jim Mora....whoops
Matt Barkley was so overrated dude was mediocre at best
Barkley sucked
Rain but no mud, all this knee breaking astro grass, this isn't how football should be.
The rose bowl is 100% Kentucky blue grass so idk what kinda turf you are talking about.
It's always been a natural grass field in Pasadena. I agree that football should be like that and in this stadium, it is.
No mud speaks highly of the groundskeepers considering this is natural grass.
