    MAN this movie looks so sick, love the analysis of the kick catches and the acknowledgement of how difficult that kind of choreo is! Stay well!

    I like how you notice the filming techniques in addition to the martial arts! Tony Jaa’s mask in the film is his character’s daughter’s. She needs a bone marrow transplant and Wu Jing’s character is the donor so they are fighting to save his daughter’s life basically.

  • @fightsclub8768

    5:47, what i like about Tony jaa scenes is that it look always more realistic, especially the planing or the building of the scenes, you can notice that he doesn’t finish everyone he attacked him, but he use a smart strategy by keeping many attackers aways by push or quick taking down and focus good attack on only 1 opponents. And that what can happen in real fight , you will not attack every one with same way because you will lose stamina and lose in the end.

    Tony Jaa is one of the best single opponent and multiple opponent fight choreographers of our age. He knows how to set up timing while dealing with multiple opponents attacking simultaneously. Too many fights have. It's my turn and my turn and my turn. Where Tony has 3 guys striking at the same time he be like block this guy kick and take the lightest blow so I can deal with him shortly. There are always answers to be found in Tony Jaa fight scenes.

    I'm totally behind you on knee injuries. I actually have a fucked up knee myself so every time I see something like that I cringe a little. Got mine from a fall. I went head first, my foot got stuck and my leg made a 180 degree twist. Shattered my knee but it probably saved my life, because the fall uninterrupted would have broken my neck.

  • @nightshade7240
    @nightshade7240 2 роки тому +1

    That's not a baton, in case you were wondering. That's a tonfa. There is actually a difference, mostly to do with shape and length which changes the usage of the weapon. Tonfa also hit harder because they aren't domed on the end like a nightstick so you can strike with the edge of the front face of the weapon and inflict more damage because of multiplying force through a very narrow angle. It's one of the reasons that nightsticks are rounded and domed because while they could be used with lethal force, they weren't designed that way. They were designed to subdue an assailant and they had more length for leverage, whereas a tonfa was designed as a weapon first and the length is very specific to the dimensions and body specifications of the user.
    Great review though.

    I think Wu Jing vs the assassin at the beginning was a throwback to that alley fight between him and Donnie Yen. Only this time he's the good guy and someone else was playing the brutal, ruthless assassin. In both movies, the assassin was sent by the villain to be waiting for the good guy. If you listen carefully, even the soundtrack was a remix of the alley fight soundtrack. It's pretty obvious what they're doing here

    Max zhang the final baddass they fought is the one who played Cheung Tin-Chi, the Wing Chun master who challenged Ip Mann. The plot in Killzone 2 is Wu Jing(Kit) is a blood type match that can save Tony Jaas daughter with a bone marrow transplant. The Mask belongs to his daughter. That is why despite being stabbed 3 times, Tony Jaa is determined not to let Wu Jings character!!

    • @fightsclub8768
      @fightsclub8768 2 роки тому +1

      When you have many opponents you can use a smart strategy by keep pushing away 2 of them using kicks or your amrms, and focus your attack on only 1 of them.
      Let’s imagine it:
      OP1 attack: you block and push him away with front kick
      OP2 attack: avoid the attack
      OP3: block his attack and give him 2 or 3 quick attacks .
      And repeated again.
      Or just run away

    I have a feeling that if Max Zhang and Wu Jing were to fight Tony Jaa in for reals, their main concern is probably to actually avoiding being totally murdered by Jaa. Chinese Martial Arts is pretty and really stylish, but very few Chinese Wushu schools actually still teaches how to fight. Wushu competitions are kind of just dance-competitions if you think about it. Muay Thai on the otherhand, being a form of kickboxing, never stopped teaching you how to fight. You can also see in Tony Jaa's movement and eyes that every move actually have an intention to kill.
