The only reason I can see why those guys were still in their uniforms at the beginning is because the scene takes place right after a Karate Tournament that Bruce Lee and his school participated in alongside other schools. It would still make sense that folks would have changed back into some casual clothes by the end of it, (Bruce Lee certainly took the time to change) but I’m guessing these guys wanted to quickly find and pick a fight before Bruce Lee went home for the evening.
This actor has been playing Bruce Lee for the past 25 years, since when he was in his mid twenties. He stars as Bruce Lee in just about every movie and tv show about Bruce.
Can someone confirm the following: Bruce incorporated the 'dancing' during a fight after watching boxers....timeline wise that was much later then portrayed here... Thoughts?
The movie is all pretty fictionalized so them adding Bruce using that style earlier in his life makes some sense. It's just like that older Dragon: Bruce Lee story movie where they protrayed him always using jeet kun do throughout his entire lifetime.
That fight was comically bad, and I did used to wear my Gi to and from class, though I'd often wear a jacket over the top or on hot days wear a t-shirt and carry to top of the Gi. I may catch heat for this but as a Karate guy we always found kickboxers to be the jerks :)
I think the reason karate gets a lot of stick for the jerks thing is because karate is the mcdonalds of martial arts. its everywhere and everyone knows about it, so its the most common martial art to get trained in (thus more jerks who study karate even if per capita its the same) and it gets blamed for any issues because all martial arts are karate like all fast food is mcdonalds.
I never thought that anyone would ever be able to channel the spirit of Bruce Lee on film, to the point where you believe it's him and forget its just an actor portraying him. After watching this, I'm happy to admit that I was wrong. 6:02 If there was anyone more superhuman and godlike then Bruce Lee, its Bruce Lee with nunchucks

yes some of thise punches were haymakers but around this time when Bruce had his own school he did study both boxing and fencing for technique and style. So I like nod to that.
Always see mcdojo families walking into the petrol station or local convenience and take away stores before or after class, the dads showing off their belts, kids still yellow belts but with about 10 bands on the end. Great review as always! Also... The ally fighter breaking the lamp is (I believe) a call back to when Bruce Lee's character broke a similar hanging light in the office of James Garner's character in "Marlowe". Here's the scene: ua-cam.com/video/LhXF0z9L6fA/v-deo.html
And Way of the Dragon
The only reason I can see why those guys were still in their uniforms at the beginning is because the scene takes place right after a Karate Tournament that Bruce Lee and his school participated in alongside other schools. It would still make sense that folks would have changed back into some casual clothes by the end of it, (Bruce Lee certainly took the time to change) but I’m guessing these guys wanted to quickly find and pick a fight before Bruce Lee went home for the evening.
At my older age and knowing the world and my life Id love to be young again if I could study with IP.
This actor has been playing Bruce Lee for the past 25 years, since when he was in his mid twenties. He stars as Bruce Lee in just about every movie and tv show about Bruce.
Can someone confirm the following:
Bruce incorporated the 'dancing' during a fight after watching boxers....timeline wise that was much later then portrayed here... Thoughts?
The movie is all pretty fictionalized so them adding Bruce using that style earlier in his life makes some sense. It's just like that older Dragon: Bruce Lee story movie where they protrayed him always using jeet kun do throughout his entire lifetime.
Not really... Bruce's exposure to boxing happened very early on. He was a championship boxer in the late 50s in Hong Kong.
Because the storyline talks about them meeting each others after the long beach karate event at a nearby restaurant. That's why they wear their gears.
Thats a real life event bruce has been to and wow the martial arts world
Rambaa Somdet?? Are you the M16!?!?
3:09 interesting "scene"....its reminds me in that movie scene where Bruce enter in an office, and start to break everything
;)
Alright Jonny
karate dude got his aSs handed to him says GG after the fight massive respec
Epic! That karate school ain't no joke.👍👍🥋
The real Bruce Lee would be very proud of Danny Chan for living up to his legacy
Absolutely. 💯 percent agree
Excellent action I mean reaction.
I WISH I could enter any scene as remarkably as the Blue Gi Karate Instructor 🤣🤣🤣
3:18 I'd headbutt a watermelon to introduce myself 🤣
*Simon Hammerhead entered the fight* 🤣
In my head this fight is Cobra Kai American karate vs The goalie from Shaolin Soccer, and nobody can ever convince me otherwise.
Ninja with Scott Adkins is a fun one.
Man of Tai Chi is an interesting, somewhat obscure martial arts movie.
Oh, Man of Tai Chi was dope.
i did not know there was a 4. I shall need to watch this... but yes the very theatrical entrance of karate gang is a bit much XD
Karate Masters game plan: Get in his range and stay there.
Damn, this guy is more like Bruce Lee than Bruce Lee himself. The setting with the taverns and back alleys truly captures the scene from the video games "street fighters" where Ken and Bruce Lee are fighting. I wish Chun Li would appear and defeat both of them with her shadowless, fatal kick."
6:40 this is my favourite
The way of the dragon 🔥🔥🔥
I was sooo confused by this sudden alley man 😂
Can you react to Ip man vs 10 black belts
Where did you get the clips from?
IP man movies rock. and they show respect to bruce lee which makes me love them even more. Donnie yen is the new G.O.A.T
That was a great fight scene
That's property damage bub...lol, nice.
yes some of thise punches were haymakers but around this time when Bruce had his own school he did study both boxing and fencing for technique and style. So I like nod to that.
Dude looks a 'lot' like Bob Wall from his Enter the Dragon days...granted the intended effect, but still...nice homage.
Always see mcdojo families walking into the petrol station or local convenience and take away stores before or after class, the dads showing off their belts, kids still yellow belts but with about 10 bands on the end.
They are usually smiling though, and having some family time, so it's not all bad, unless they are actually a gang of karate midgets about to rob the place but the over coats on the taller ones usually give them away
Do the kids randomly kick street lights and dent metal doors too ? :P
@@picoolio depends on how amped up they are😂
Now I'm wondering if those mcdojo dads are the same dudes that used to pretend they knew 100 move katas in the school yard
How come those Chinese movies never have any decent, competent karate people?
I´d rather watch one old low-budget Jackie Chan-fight,
than a modern high-budget mockup-Bruce Lee,
doing best-of-his-moves clichés.
Wow...he is very simple in fight...
