@@VeganStonerLady So who decides what is necessary or unnecessary ? It becomes purely subjective and defining a line to stand on impossible. Talking of lines, look up the building project "The Line". When completed hundreds of thousands of migratory birds will die crashing into it. Necessary deaths so that someone has a place to live ? Reality is far more complicated than what is seen as a simple choice because all our choices have ramifications, such as using a mobile phone and supporting an industry which harms animals on many levels. I think a better response to her health concerns would have been to ask her what kinds of foods she was eating when she was vegan. Wholefoods or Junk foods? Does she know where to get vegan protein sources? Was she taking a supplement? Was it just for B12 or was it a multivitamin supplement that covers an array of nutrients?
When she brings up a concern such as dizziness and you respond with something along the lines of "So what if you're dizzy? It's worse for the animals." it comes across as though dizziness is a normal and accepted thing for vegans, and its just something you deal with in exchange for not hurting animals. Some of the excuses she uses here:
Claim: "My health was bad as a vegan" Response: Unless you can name what was wrong with your health, and how it applied to a vegan diet, I call BS on this point. I don't blindly trust people making statements that go against peer reviewed research. I mean, come on! Cheese was the missing corner stone in the diet? What exactly was the magical ingredient in cheese that saved your health?
Claim: "I was dizzy when I was vegan" Response: More calories could be what's needed. I get dizzy when I eat too few calories. Eating more fatty foods does the trick of stopping dizziness, and that fatty food surely doesn't have to be cheese.
Claim: "It was difficult to get protein" Response: No, it's not, even if you aim at very high levels. When I went vegan I was worried, so I counted, and I ate 140 grams a day, as a new vegan, without the knowledge and without trying. Today I consume 160 grams, because I'm currently weighing 95 kgs, building muscles for the summer season.
Claim: "It's hard being vegan as a parent" Response: Who makes the rules in your house? Parents sometimes need to set up boundaries. And in this particular case you could always discuss this with your children and tell them about food production. Many children are less indoctrinated by meat industry propaganda than their parents, so by telling or showing them about the horrors of animal agriculture, maybe they're all for eating vegan.
Claim: "Vegan (processed) food is unhealthy" Response: Compared to what? The Beyond Burger is more heart healthy than beef burger made from grass fed cows. Stop parroting BS from the Joe Rogan podcast and read the science! Some vegan products are really new, so more research is needed, but the research that has been done seem to be in favor of the vegan foods. And I know that Chris Gardner who conducted the study to compare beyond meat to beef burger also said that they used the absolute healthiest beef meat they could find on the market.
Claim: "it's really difficult to eat balanced as a vegan." Response: No, it isn't. And most people aren't even health conscious as meat eaters, and eat all kinds of crap, yet no one ever talks about health problems. But all of a sudden, as fiber, fruits, veggies and micronutrients increase, then all of a sudden people claim to have these very abstract symptoms that could potentially be nocebo or come from literally anything, or even be psychosomatic.

    Wow Mel!!!!
So sorry you had to have that 'to and fro' (I can't call it an adult conversation) with her.
It's such a shame that like so many others, her cognitive dissonance and emotional hypocrisy are clearly winning out over her underlying moral values.
But the good thing about this video is it so clearly gets to the real crux of the matter.
Every time you pointed to the screens and said "IT'S NOT ABOUT YOU FEELING DIZZY, IT'S ABOUT THEM BEING MURDERED IN GAS CHAMBERS" you were very clearly voicing the unarguable reasoning behind veganism/sentientism.
All sentient beings deserve basic negative rights.
And you and Steve are doing such a wonderful job of offering that truth to people.
I was a mentor for Challenge 22 for a while, so I know they would try to help her, and they have qualified dietitians who could talk with her about her dizziness and help her find possible solutions to the cause of those.

This is very worrying. All these dare i say it, ''Mothers'' now and fathers in todays to these poor innocent young children brought in to the world through ignorance first of all to immature parents who don't want to grow up. And sadly there are so many. Im a vegan mother,..when you choose to become a mother you also become a teacher at the same time. For your child to be healthy in mind and body it's a parents responsibility to feed them with lovely prepared nutritious meal, you make time! Its a sacrifice you take. A good parent makes time to cook for there child. She says she a single parent, So! You choose to be one. Now 😳 so what's the next excuse! There's a lot of brilliant vegan mums out there who work very hard to take care of more then one child and don't use there children for an excuse because they can't do something! Be a women! Animal mothers could also teach you a thing about parenting! ..Mel when you ever do become a mum, Your going to be great parent! 😇🥰

If she'd felt dizzy after cutting humans out of her diet, she'd look into how to get the nutrients she was missing from plants and supplements. @darryldempsey7273 7 місяців тому +3

@@MasterMoron Well, it depends on their particular anecdote and its plausibility. But it's not just a matter of lying; people can simply be mistaken.
Humans are prone to confusing correlation with causation. Consider how many things can cause one to feel non-specific symptoms such as dizziness, brain fog, or fatigue - from transient lifestyle factors to sleep disturbances, viruses, or stress/mental health issues.
When such symptoms occur what many people then do is jump to something that is different or prominent in the psyche and assume it's the cause.
Consider how many people exclaim they feel better after their first meal following a return to an old diet, as if a single meal has the ability to fix nutritional deficiencies or allow time to recover from allergies or intolerances.
