Alright, I'm convinced. I tried it this evening in some heavy riprap that I'm forever getting hung up in and caught 3 right away. It falls down in the rocks and you can pop it right out. 3 fish landed and zero break offs in rocks. This. Bait. Is. Rad!
@@wendellfishing Yeah, I have a Googan frog , Booyah pad crasher Frog and those solid Ribbit frogs for thick coverage. I want a ultimate frog by Live Target. Bur I really need something to punch through the coverage. Thank you for the video. The Expo had tons of bugs and critters for that
Thanks for sending me the link to your video of how to fish the lure, also how to get the most out of it by rotating it on the hook, I ve got to go get some and hopefully catch a few bass ! 🎣
I ordered the combo pack and rigged it. First cast I caught a small LM. It’s amazing what a small bass will try to eat. I also fish Ohio waters. Dude I woulda never thought that that thing would catch fish. Great video and thank you for the intel!
If you add a wacky rig o ring to the top where you insert the hook it squeezes the Yamatanuki better and saves the tip from ripping a little bit. Just sayin’. Maybe try it. I have seems to work. I have gotten a ton of bites on the Yamatanuki but frequently miss the hook set. I’ll try the 5 hook instead of the 4. Thanks for the video & great stuff!
I like the idea of this bait. Kinda like a stupid tube/senko hybrid. I love how simple it is to rig. I think I'll pick up a few packs to try out this weekend. Thanks for the information and tips.
Heck yeah brother.. also, something that is not in the video.. when you are reeling it in finishing up the cast. Give it one last pause before you pull it into the boat. If you have a follower.. they will nail it . Just picked up an 18 this past week doing that.
It was my go to bait last weekend on Lake St Clair for smallmouth, landed several fish in the 4 pound range, none over 5. Just wish the bait was a bit more durable. I could only find the 2.5 size, had a couple of fish really inhale it, I think the 3.5 would have been better.
I just received a pack of the large yamatanukis and was very surprised at the weight of these things...I kinda wish I would've ordered the smaller ones
Yeah.. I carry too much as well my friend. What you can't really see is that I am fishing a huge open hole. I was in the pads to keep my boat from moving around.
Hey does anyone have a good trick for kayak cleaning? I normally spray mine down after every trip but I forgot once and now that scum line isn’t going away.
I start with the 3.5... and then when it rips at the offset bend.. I cut the end, put a heat gun on it, and downsize my hook to a 4/0 and fish the 3 inch Yamamoto, and then I do it again for the 2.5 inch :)
Used the 3.5 black and blue flake, and got skunked. Tough pond tho always struggle. I did feel like they got hung up a little just because of the size. Will try again at a diff spot.
Random comment -- if your ever bored could you make content with tips possibly about good lures or ways to approach scouting/fishing new bodies of water in kayak? I come from bank agling and got into offshore angling this month and its an interesting transition between finding fish and what i throw offshore compared to inshore. I would watch it and i bet alot of people like myself transitioning would too
Don't listen to him, just buy several packs of Yamamoto Yamatanuki. Twitch it on the bottom then see what happens. Then you be shaking your head, really? It was my fault I didn't have one tied on before launching the kayak.

Boom! That's what I like to hear. Get Some Brother!
Great Idea to Get All you can Out of Each Piece & Great Choice on the Hook!!!
Nothing but the best!
Nice video brother! I need to try baits like that when the frog 🐸 is not working
Yeah.. I was surprised.. That Pop Frogz is another one I go to.. Usually before I head over to a frog

Catching bass on demand, that's what's up!
Brings some cred to the video :)
Sweet kayak brother! I love watching ppl slay bass on cheap, inexpensive lures/baits!
You got that right!

Right on! Congrats!

Super informative! You’re gonna have nothing but confidence lures before long😂
That's the plan!
Great video! Im going to have to try those lures out. Thanks for your channel!
No problem 👍

For real... those things fall apart if you look at them wrong
I love this video! I just picked some up today but haven’t thrown any yet.
Awesome! You are going to love em
Trying using it as a trailer on a micro jig. I’ve been using the zman and it’s a killer combo
ooooohhh... Trailer... thick and juicy
Just ordered some. Time to see what the excitement is all about😀
You are about to find out brother.. got 10 this morning on them.

The Large ones pick up some big fish!
Really good smallmouth lure for sure!
For sure!
Looks great but I can't afford every new thing. I carry too much stuff as it is. (I'll probably still get it). BTW, a medium power in those pads? Wow.

@@wendellfishing I use the same strategy as well.

I read somewhere that multi-purpose foam cleaner (vehicle carpet cleaner) takes it right off in seconds

How do you figure this lure costs $1.25 . and if so where do you buy them
$10 for an $8pack on Amazon. geni.us/Yamatanuki (Amazon)
