I had my top back molar removed yesterday was very afraid of the pain I'd get after for this is my first lost tooth, I took two Advils before the appointment, after my appointment I went and got my prescription for the pain and Guess what I'm so happy today, because I literally have no pain at all and I wasted a hundred bucks on painkillers I didn't even have to take one of them...
Hey there, so I had my one of my top left molar teeth removed about 5 days ago and I've been keep a super close eye on the healing process as I'm scared of getting dry socket. However, while looking at the extraction site today, I notice a little small whole has formed in the top right corner of the blood clot, is that normal? Or would a hole developing within the blood clot lead to dry socket?
Thank you. Iam well aware of the fact that pictures are not good enough. The channel mainly aims to help the undergraduate dental students with the subjects. 😊
Doctor I had my bottom lower left wisdom tooth extracted on 21st dec though the teeth was a impacted one, half of the teeth was clearly visible so they took it out normally but they gave me stitches. On the 23rd I got liver clots I thought it was normal and on 25th the bleeding wasnt stopping so I went to a doctor he cleaned the liver clot and gave me clotting meds and antibiotics and betadine to use as a mouthwash. On 29th dec the doctor removed the stitch and said because there was an infection so, the hole didnt close. He didnt put any stitches again. Today is 30th dec there no sign of blood. Neither there is any pain. Am I doing okay doctor and when is the hole likely to close?
You're doing perfectly fine now. Your socket will be partially closed within 1-2 weeks. And it will return back to its normal state within 2-3 months(bone regrowth takes place slowly ). Good day
Very informative video. Thank you ! I had surgery of my lower wisdom tooth on 27th April which was bit complicated, Doc gave stitches and I went for checkup again on 4th May, Doc said there is infection in wound they gave me anesthesia and clean the wound and I again wend to checkup yesterday 6th May and my doc said it is better than before and no infection and healing will take. I still see hole in the wound area and sometime little blood will come out, is that normal ? Could you please advise me how long it will take to fill that hole, how new skin or gum will cover that whole. I am little bit scared how it will heal. my age is 33 yrs. pain is reduced it is around 4 out of 10.
Dont worry. Dont disturb the surgical area by brushing, touching hand or tongue. Wound will be completely healed within a week if there is no pain /infection. The hole (lost bone) will be filled with new bone within 2-3 months. Use salt water gargling 2-3 times day until it heals completely. Keep it clean. Nothing to worry. Tc
@@Dentistrynmore Thank you very much sir for the suggestion. I ll follow your instructions. Could you please also advise if little blood comes from the hole in second and 3rd week, Is that Normal ? @@sonujalwal4768 if you dont have pain, u can use warm saline water for gargle in addition to the solution your dentist prescribed. Slight bleeding is fine. I think there is delayed wound healing. Worry not. It will be okay in a week.

Hello doctor..i got my lower wisdom tootj extracted week ago. But theres still throbbing pain and socket is still not healed or closed.i can still see hole. How long it takes to heal? And when does this pain subsides? Is it normal? Or is it dry socket.also im taking painkillers daily to subside pain
Hello there . Pain will keep on decreasing . Worry only If its increasing . Socket will be normal within 3-4 months. Normal healing takes 4-5 days . Since its wisdom tooth removal it might take 7-10 days. Dry socket will give you intense pain not like throbbing type.
as the gum has still not yet closed completely yet, can you still get a dry socket in the 2nd week even though the clot has been replaced by granulation tissue (tooth #14)? if yes, how likely? thx
@@Dentistrynmore ok thanks, if it did happen would it be "less severe" (ie. less pain and duration) as one whole week of healing had already elapsed? thanks.

If you have any kind of pain or ulceration do consult a dentist. Otherwise its normal.
