I agree in a way. I really did appreciate his theatrics when he did his match at Wrestlemania with Cole. Even tho it was a hot mess, his style and the way he moved was top notch class act.
You'd have to watch his older stuff. The WM27 match isn't fair
His promo was meh .... but I don't value it as a fan . I knew who I liked and who I wanted to see and why . I realize the important casual fan probably doesn't .
his promos weren't that great. he used tired old jokes even at that time and his wrestling was the shits. mostly just walk and talk and stretch out the match. usually i agree with Cornette on everything but not this time....
Wrong, wrong wrong on every count. Maybe not the GOAT but certainly tied with Flair and a few others.
Too many of the top wrestlers & promoters of all time talk about how great The King was!! Their opinions hold a lot more water than a bunch of fans!! What ppl like us, who have never even been in a ring before think doesn't matter in any way!! It's like saying, "I've never shot a gun before, but I'm a true marksman!!"
Jerry Lawler was part of the first ever 5 star rated match. Not that that is an absolute standard, but it definitely shows he was good
So have you watched prime Lawler matches, or are you saying this about his 90's matches? If the latter, you've missed the plot.
