I must be a frustrated farmer. I watch a few small farm blogs and love every minute of them...😂

What a wonderful idyllic late summer scene. When the winter is cold, damp and miserable I’ll come back to this video to remind myself that life is really good, and nature’s energy will begin to return again next spring. Thank you all.

Tim I've got an elevator you can borrow for next year to get them up in the shed. Enjoyable content great effort.

Watch out for the rats under the pallets 👍

Apologies if you did do a bit of this but try putting one row the other way on but then the same as the row below. Basically aiming to tie the stack together more. It’s always a tough way of stacking bales without elevators so will always be a case of making the best of it.

Remember when I was just a boy haymayking back in Poland, all loose hay on trailer and later sleeping on loose hay in shead. ❤

A tractor and topper are ideal to sort out 'weedy' fields; either graze or cut the grass in the spring, then use the topper on the patches of thistles as they start heading. We had a very weedy field that we graze and cut, but this year tried topping it and it's been quite succesful.

Yeah that’s worked great elsewhere just a pain to not be able to graze that field safely until fencing done. Should see some improvement next year. 👍

I said it on last year's hay making video and will say it again on this year's, get yourself some hay hooks. It will make handling the bales so much easier and save your hands. They cost little but will be used year round 👍

Thanks for the memories Tim. We used to help my uncle at haymaking , lots of teenagers and parents helping. It was hard work but such fun. 😊

You bring back lots of found memories of helping out on the farms when i was a kid. Riding in the corn trailers and building dens in the hay stacks, fabulous way to grow up, your kids are so lucky.
Please please get a roll bar on your tractor, we used to do photographic work for the HSE and I have seen far to many photographs of horrific farm accidents.
Stay safe and well, enjoy the last of the summer 😊

Roll bar here this week along with some other parts. I’ve held off all the topping on the banks and slopes until then. 👍

Wow, that’s an agressive rake behind that Deere… Last time I had to deal with had in the field, we ressurected a 1950s vintage Massy swather we’d picked up as a project, and then raked it together with the same model tractor you’ve aquired.

Excellent video thanks, I only helped a local farmer bring in the hay once, many years ago. When you are fresh, the bales are low, but when you get more tired, the higher you need to stack them! Very hard work 😂

For a quick fix, could you hang a tarp from the top of the opening to your hay and just pull it back with a rope when you need access to the hay? For a more permanent fix add some headers to the opening and hang some rolling barn doors that can be moved in front of different sections to block out weather.

Can you put a tow bar on the back of the 4wd dumper its got the weight to pull the trailers if not all a bit slower and much less movable , OR just use it as a tow vehicle to pull the tractor up the slippery bits
