    Hey Cole and Brian. I’m up in northern lower Michigan. A lot of the farms in my area use Wells with the big rotating Booms to irrigate the fields. Yes I realize it’s not a one year return on your investment but if you’re buying Hay at 3 and 4 trucks at a time maybe you could get one for the best field and see how it pans out??? I realize you said the water table is really Deep but what’s your thoughts on that

I’m just trying to pass on somethings they do around here. Good luck you guys and we’ll pray for rain.

I used to do A LOT of buying on Ebay about 18 to 20 years ago and we eventually found out that there were actual computer programs people were using to bid on auctions that placed their bids at the very last second of the auction. I don't know what the programs were called (we called them sniping programs) and I don't know if they are still available or if online auctions still allow the use of them.

The moo's don't care where you got it. Walk the ditches next and get more bales after the clean up. Ditches need cleaned up anyway. He sure chases you hard with that baler. Cleaning up the weeds looks better now. Good video. Have yourself a pool moment. Pax.

    I don't know if you covered this topic but, can you explain why you don't irrigate some of your hay fields? I'm not a farmer and don't pretend to understand the finances of operating a farm or feed lot but it seems to me that the cost of an irrigation system would almost pay for itself with the savings from not having to buy and pay for the shipping of outside hay...

    • @robinwhitlatch4497
      @robinwhitlatch4497 Рік тому +1

      I know where I am a new well costs 15k minimum to 150 feet completed then more per foot after that.. In a severe drought they could drill to 500+ feet and still find no wet aquifer. Not worth throwing money into drilling for irrigation wells at this point. Also, irrigation would take a million + gallons per acre and in a severe drought irrigation wells most likely would go dry quickly. Some states do not allow irrigation like Wyoming due to the huge amount of H2O required per acre. I don’t know about SD. Money is better spent buying hay for the coming winter at this point before the prices skyrocket when supply is low.
