    The wood gas stove for camping, which is often seen, doesn't smoke, but it has a lot of black soot, right? Although it is a secondary combustion, the red flame means incomplete combustion, and eventually there is a lot of soot. So this time, I made a stove with a blue flame with less soot. The result is ...

    I've been watching your experiments for some time. This blue-flame burn in a passive-draught stove - no powered fan - is a remarkable achievement. I don't think I've seen it managed anywhere else. The cleanness of the pan after cooking is exceptional. Well done!

      Yeah, me too, love this development, I suggested valves on the bottom and on the top just for experimenting and in another way, just two rings that you move left and right and that make the holes smaller and bigger so he could see the difference and make his results, but this result is very satisfying already, you see it is a gasflame, when it stotters at the beginning when he wrote "????????" I'm pretty sure it was not hot enough and some water/steam was involved but then it goes on, so nice to see how it this project goes forward.

      Sure the SilverFire stoves create a blue flame - the key is to insulate the rocket stove using ceramic fiber. So secondary pre-heated burn is increased temperature due to the insulation. Also any wood stove using a baffle also gets a blue flame. I use a Two Dog wood stove and I also use the Silverfire rocket stoves.

      It's very cool although check out the SilverFire Hunter Stove. The key is using ceramic fiber for insulation. So you get a rocket stove by insulating the burning to increase the temperature to ensure the blue flame. Notice when the oxygen holes were added more than it cooled down the fire too much and the blue flame disappeared.

    As you discover new challenges, you feel like you're going to see them often in the future. The start was a solo stove developed by others, but it is safe to assume that this is the only technology that campers gather. Since I saw the blue flame from my first work, I think it will take a short while. I think it's okay to register a patent and commercialize it if it works.
    새로운 도전거리를 발견 하신걸 보니, 앞으로자주 뵐것 같은 예감이 드는군요. 출발은 남이 개발 한 solo stove 였지만 이것은 캠핑투게더님 만의 기술이 들어간것이라 봐도 무방하겠습니다. 첫 작품 부터 푸른 불꽃이 보이는걸 보니 완전한 푸른 불꽃이 얼마 안걸릴것 같습니다. 개인적인 생각인데 잘되면 특허 등록하고 상품화 하셔도 될것 같습니다.

      말씀 감사합니다. 솔로스토브 만들다 보니 추가 연소 잘되게 하면 그을음 줄어들겠다 싶더라구요. 이번에 어느정도 가능성을 본 듯 합니다. 다만 그을음 안나게 화력을 약하게 유지하다보니 불 유지가 어려운 단점이 있어서 앞으로 그걸 해결하고 좀 더 푸른 불꽃을 만드는것이 과제입니다. ^^

    you have spent an enormous effort to establish a tretiary burn which is good but it is overly complex and still you do not solve your low efficiency issue resulting in soot. You need your stove to burn hotter which you can achieve by adjusting the primary to secondary air mixture as this will result in a cleaner burn but there are other things that you can do. You can contrive to increase the amount of mix time or dwell time between the primary air and woodgas this will improve the mixture as well are increase its heat and it will increase the length of time that carbon and other particulates spend in the burn chamber. The dwell time can be prolonged with horizontal baffles and with adding swirl to the air/gas mixture. Insulating your burn pot can also help and keeping as much of the flame within the stove will increase the temp and efficiency of the burn. The Mountain Ranger stove is a good example of a simple well set up stove but even this can be improved upon though at the cost of increased complexity. Have fun working on your stove designs.

    • @campingtogether
      @campingtogether  4 роки тому

      Thanks for watching Moray. I wanted to have the flame blue and so it is clean burn leaves least soot. Do you have any idea on this?

    • @morayjames92
      @morayjames92 4 роки тому +3

      @@campingtogether yes start with a two stage stove design with a primary burn which occurs in the burn pot on the pot of the fuel in a state of pyrolysis and the secondary burn which occurs at the top of the pot fed by the secondary air inlet vent holes. A good target ration of primary air to secondary air going to be in the range of 1:5 - 1:6 P:S (primary to secondary air intake) do not forget that the top opening of the stove ie to me considered in your secondary air intake, half of the top open area will be added to your total secondary air intake the other half is hot air escaping the stove. When I previously mentioned horizontal baffles to increase the dwell time and example of this would be the standard concentration ring often used at the top of the stove in a large stove multiple such rings or baffles van be used inside of the stove you can also place a cant (angle the vent hole) on the secondary air inlet vent holes to cause the incoming air to swirl around the top of the burn chamber. This will keep the air/gas mixture in the burn chamber for a longer period of time resulting is a small increase in efficiency of the burn. You can also use some insulation on the burn chamber to increase the burn temperature start by insulating the bottom of the burn chamber. A titanium burn pot would be the ideal material (but they are expensive) for the burn pot as it transfers heat fat better than steel and you want to heat the air in between the burn pot and the outer pot which should be steel to reduce heat loss from the stove. I hope you find these suggestions helpful. Regards moray james.
