Blessings, in some ways, are like character traits. If you want to be kinder, act kinder, and you will become kinder. It's our choices supported by our actions that convert us and propel us to our highest potential. We will do what we think about, and we will become what we do.
I don't usually comment, but I want you to know that I think this particular episode is one of the best that you have ever done. I had a lot of things that really address my life and has given me much food for thought. I will be rewatching this one! Thank you for all the time and preparation you put into these classes.
Thank you, Brother Hilton, for this entire year of teaching, enlightenment, and comfort. I’m in a worry cycle right now, and with multiple issues. My feeling is that things might get worse before they get better. How grateful I am to know, that I can rest my cares at the feet of our Savior. I pray for courage to face the days ahead. And have HOPE! 🥰
I appreciate your pragmatic approach to overcoming worry through hope in Christ. Sometimes a list is all you need to start down a path to faith which begets hope.
Thank you for sharing the quote from Elder Richard G Scott. Just what I needed. Sometimes I worry more than I should and found this quote very helpful.
I've NEVER commented on ANY UA-cam video. But I wanted to thank you for all of the time and effort you put into making your videos. I watch your videos every week! They have helped strengthen my testimony and improve my teaching! I watched this one 3 times!
Thank you John...I thought (when I was younger) that by the time I was in my 70's, I would "know it all" (lol) or be of the mindset that I would "be there!" Needless to say, I am not. I am continually learning, continuing to fumble and make mistakes. Your podcast and others like you give me more knowledge, advice, ideas, etc. to continue on my journey as I strive, and I do mean STRIVE, to endure to the end. Keep up the good work! [Watching from St. Aug., FL]
In hard times, I have learned (usually in the middle of it 😅 while trying to do everything) a hard lesson but one I think relates to this discussion: for me, it is infinitely easier to think, “ I HOPE to/or for________” (fill in the blank of what you want), rather than “I want.” Using the word “hope” and remembering President Nelson’s invitation to let the Lord prevail opens my mind and lifts me up. I don’t know if that makes sense, but I have learned in my own life to try to think in a new way rather than always saying “I want“.
A fantastic class. Thank you for your insights. When I worry about my children who aren’t believers at this time, my hope must be in Christ, that He can reach them when I cannot. Thanks for the connection with Moroni 9:6.
I am happy to say , this course , this format , and this host . Has made learning from the book of Mormon calmly appealing , stays meaningful for grow in your understanding of the scriptures . Let's be honest there are pleasent number of resources available to us . I for myself enjoy Mr. Hilton's calm and insightful approach.
Thank you. I truly appreciate you and the time it took for you to share this week's lesson. It was insightful and gave me so many tiny gems to take away to use and improve my way of life. The part on Charity was the greatest jewel of all.
Very good! Thank you Brother Hilton for sharing all those tips, I have used them & testify that they DO work! This video can help many people!!! Love the way you explained it! God bless you 🙏
Moroni 7:40-48 I have studied in detail and often! I have come to the conclusion that this is a lifetime goal worked on and practiced daily. Thank goodness for the atonement, because I often run short... I can say I have a very tender place in my heart for those who are close to mastering this! They always seem to be the most mastered and diligent in their faith of Jesus Christ and their ability to love everyone! Their compassion levels are off the charts. This is my goal. 🙏🏼. How do you achieve this... Moroni 7:48 gives us a clue ...pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love, which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son, Jesus Christ; that ye may become the sons of God; that when he shall appear we shall be like him, for we shall see him as he is; that we may have this hope; that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.
Thankyou again as always. A very thoughtful and wonderful post regarding receiving receiving gifts at even blessing ourselves. As though we have these gifts and developing them, it's a great principle.
Nice video. However, while I agree I also think worry is an emotion, like happy emotions or sad emotions. Sometimes, I feel worry when I have no reason to be worried. The old Johnny Ray Song 🎵 CRY, With the lyric: it' just emotions that you feel, help me think 🤔 why not change and exercise a different emotion. Maybe, we all need a stress moment to appreciate less stress moments. Being one's self doesn't have to cost a lot of money or effort. Your videos are enjoyable. Thanks.
Thanks for catching that. I added it into the digging deeper section here: johnhiltoniii.com/thebookofmormon/class-51-moroni-7-9-the-pure-love-of-christ/
