Honestly, my massage therapist recommended rolling my low back- I knew that it wasn't good advice. It feels like it's harmful. Thank you for confirming.
Yes. It's more of the QL area which is lateral as they demonstrated in the beginning. Due to the type of major surgery I had, my QL & hip flexor muscles began to atrophy which was causing the worse low back pain ever. After shutting down the piriformis that was next to work on.
Thanks, I'm learning as I go along. Everything I know about anatomy comes from my own body! It's an amazing learning process; I just don't like to be in pain. Anything that I can do to unwind at home is the very best advice. Thank you for this channel!
I have three different foam rollers and love them all! Keeps me moving and pain free! I sometimes roll my back out on the wall when I'm too lazy to get on the floor. I have a firm one that I use in bed. These are the most used exercise equipment I own!
Soooo my PT had me put this directly under my low lumbar & my bottom hips & legs felt like I went paralyzed for the moment, it hurt so bad yet at the same time it was a little comforting, more pain though she then assured me she was not going do anything to me to hurt me, you guys just said AVOID DIRECTLY TO THE CURVE.
I have a hard time using my foam roller on the floor for some of these exercises so I do it up against the wall. It's especially beneficial for my sciatic pain and knots I get around my shoulder blades. Thanks for all the helpful tips on what NOT to do! :)
I don't have a foam roller but I found a flex/exercise ball to roll on. I have osteopenia and this seems much kinder to the skeletal system. It seems to really help my back after exercise.
Great informational video & you both are very entertaining to watch. I just started foam rolling per chiropractor due to severe pain from pregnancy & of course I was making some of these mistakes. So glad i stumbled upon your video so I dont continue and injure myself further. Thank u...subscribed! 😀
When I was in 6th grade I was run over by a car. My hip and pelvis were broken and when they healed they knitted together, just ever so slightly out of line so that I have had chronic off and on lower back trouble due to how things healed. So, due to that I have a constant bulging disk that I can deal with fine but at times, it becomes a slipped disk and that is a whole other story. Anyway, when the disk is thinking about slipping I can do an adjustment by using a foam roller ON MY LOWER BACK. I need a fairly soft one but its helped keep me functional.
Hi there! Can I make a suggestion for a video? How to properly sleep with a pillow for side sleepers, back sleepers etc without waking up with stiff necks etc? What kind of pillow is best? Tysm
I use a foam roller but I have not been using for a very long time. I have one at home but I never use it. It stays there in my room waiting for me to use it. I shall use it afterwards after I do abdominal crunches. And push ups in my room.
Foam roller almost seem to be too risky overall based on this video, and no one should attempt to use one until they have seen many videos...Bob and Brad videos that is...haha
Awk, not your best. Too much back and forth between good and bad. Dialogue not keeping up with what was being done. Confusing and it's really not like your normal great explanations.
@Celeste Hitchcock I get knots and pinched nerves and foam rolling helps to relieve them more quickly than just waiting for them to go away on their own. It also helps relieve muscle stiffness after workouts, especially if you worked muscles that haven't been for quite a while. If you've never used a foam roller before, start with one that is relatively soft and smooth with no rough texture. The textured rollers are more hardcore.
C.H. foam rolling is awesome. It releases tight muscles. I concentrate on my upper back. The others are correct, if you have never used one then start with a smooth semi soft roller. My daughter uses it for her hips, it really helps her. I hope you find the correct roller for you. My last thought is, if it hurts take it easy but don't stop. Good luck!

Susan St. Louis I recommend a soft foam roller vs a hard one

Mine too..she said I couldnt put any more pressure on the low back with a foam roller than she could with her hands.
You can roll it
If ya havent foam rolled b4 only start with the smooth rollers. Move your way up to the bumpy rollets

Yeah, I walk around singing the jingle. Who doesn’t? 🎤🎼
Lol. I've been trying to play the drum part at the end on my djembe...
I love it! I play bass along with it!

Use a trigger point ball.
thank you for this information. I have lower back pain and at jiu jitsu class i use the foam roller and was doing the spine, know i now.
Jill millers Coregeous ball works great....Yamuna ball too.....
I use a KnotOut on lower back, which is essentially a two lacrosse balls with a concave gap in the center to accommodate the spine.
Thanks. I didn't know this besides not to roll on the low back or neck. No wonder why it's so uncomfortable when I've used it on my hips and IT band.
Thanks For Sharing. Learned A Lot!!!
I’ve been doing it wrong for so long on both IT band and hip on the bursa! Thanks for the tips!!
My Fitindex roller came today and I am so glad that I watched this first!

The only intro song I never skip

I think they have videos on this
Bob and Brad, do you have an opinion on rebounders/mini trampolines? They claim to have many health benefits.
Over the hip bone. That's a good way to get a bruise.
Love your information
Thank you 👍😁
Glad Bob also mixes up the greater trochanter and tubercle sometimes and I'm not alone 😅

Coffe mate and meditate they’re the worst exercises to do.
Laughing about a greater tubrical and a trocanter, well that whent over my head.
How do I get the giveaway? My foam roller needs replacement.
love you guys so much! I watch daily
"How not to do it" looks like how the roller table at the chiropractor works??!!
thanks

I love you guys but this looks crazy. There must be a better mousetrap
I sometimes break my back with a football ...
so my spine cracks ... is that okay ?
it really feels good :)
New subscriber! Love this! Very helpful!
I have a hard time lifting my leg behind me to do a quad stretch. Does this mean hip flexors are tight?
Please make a video on sacralization.
Looks awesome sucks I can’t enter in the giveaway gleam won’t let me sign up :/ keeps saying I hàave a account already.
How about your upper back?
I love your lame dad jokes! 😂
I wish I could participate with the contests
thumbs up for a great video
I am confused where to foam roll where not to.
I think maybe no foam roller is a better idea.
do i win?
Anyone else have a MST3K flashback?
2:33 & 6:14 😂
Why do they just talk to each other? So use on muscles & not on bony parts. Vibrating ones are better, according to them.
3:25 and 6:10 seem almost identical

Why you now don't put those good quotes in the intro

But WHY do people foam roll? What is the purpose? What does it do? How does it help?
Celeste Hitchcock Short term flexibility improvement, short term pain release
That’s it
No long term benefits

Soft tissue and fascia release
@@m3lisha why does the fascia need released and from what?
