As for myself, I have seen what my dogs will dig up out of the dirt after being buried for three weeks or more, and it's gross, so I have never worried about salmonella. Their stomachs are so acidic that it kills pretty much everything. Of course every dog is different and some have health issues, but my three dogs all get raw eggs every second day. They love them, and sometimes they eat the shell and sometimes they don't. They get to choose. One of my GSDs is now 10 years old and she has had raw eggs her whole life. In my mind, natural is always best.

Love watching you with all your beautiful dogs. Thanks for all your great UA-cam videos😊One thing that might be useful to talk about are the dangers of mycotoxins to dogs. When dogs eat moldy things from the compost, or moldy dairy products or bread, that mold can kill them. This I learned the hard way when my dog got sick eating old cottage cheese that I threw out for my chickens. Fortunately he was okay, but it did require a trip to the vet to figure it out. Always learning...I didn't know that about the membrane of the eggshell. I figured I had to rinse it out first before I give it. I just make like a scrambled egg for Harley and she loves it.😊

My GSD has been getting basically an egg a day from age 8 weeks old. The eggs come from my own chickens so I know they are safe to feed whole and raw. Salmonella is not a risk either.
Eggs are placed into the food bowl just before feeding.
I also feed homing pigeon eggs as I keep Homing pigeons as pets , as well as quail eggs as I have quail too.
The majority of the time eggs are raw. Occasionally I may boil eggs, but the yolk must be soft.
4 years onwards my GSD is thriving on the eggs in his BARF diet and never gotten sick or diseased.

My GSD has an egg a day either boiled, scrambled or raw. As with all meals the egg is served straight away, the same as our own meals. In the UK ‘Lion’ marked eggs are safe raw due to laws regarding the vaccination of poultry to prevent salmonella poisoning from eggs & meat.
My GSD is fed high quality kibble that is moistened with water & a high quality meat topper, an egg, joint supplement & salmon oil. She tends to be a bottomless pit & we split her food into 3 meals. Do you have any advice GSM for GSDs that tend to be hungrier than average?
Training treats are: cooked ox heart, cooked liver, sprats & a lamb ‘meat loaf’ made with heart, meat & liver. Our local butcher prepares this by cutting off the fat, mincing the heart, liver & meat all together 3 times & I cook it with a weighted tray on top to ensure it’s solid to cut into cubes when cooled. The GSDs at training love it too!
Eggs contain 18 of the 20 the amino acids, including the 10 essential amino acids. I wasn’t aware of the egg membrane being good for their joints, thank you for the excellent info about egg membrane supporting their joints GSM ❤️🇬🇧
Food "drive" is a real thing...some have low, medium and some HIGH food drives. I do not feed them just because they want more. Thanks wirralsquirrel...GSM

My formerly free-range hens used to lay their eggs in my hay barn. My Aussies always watched them go in and waited patiently to get their little treat. I finally got tired of trying to outrace the dogs and rat snakes to get the healthy benefits of keeping chickens. My hens got penned.
My dogs never suffered from eating fresh eggs. Their coats were soft and shiny.
The only vitamin eggs do not provide is vitamin C, so I would consider them a great supplement for your dog or cat if you are feeding them raw.

I have a newfoundland and a GSD both love raw eggs 3 to 4 times a week 😊 I have chickens fed organically so the eggs are top notch

If you are feeding a raw diet, which includes raw eggs and oily fish, then there is absolutely no need to give your dog any vitamins, as everything they need, will be got through the raw diet. I give raw eggs 2-3 times a week, raw and whisked so it is distributed throughout the food.
I rely on HIGH level professionals to give me information to learn from...people with a LOT of letters after their name for instance. One Veterinarian with 14 letters after HER name is one of the several pros that told me that canines MUST have vitamins to fill in the nutritional gaps in their diet. Jus sayin...GSM
