Aretha sang this song so wonderfully that anything in that song cannot be commented. It was just perfect in soulful voice and interpretation. Patti, though, has also done well. Her voice is magical but some of the songs is a bit oversung. Though, that's the minor point. I still think that Patti is magic. She captivates the audience and let them enjoy what is truly the most beautiful song ever written.

I had never, EVER seen the one and only Aretha Franklin, get up off her big ass to show the singer of her tribute, some love...NEVER. And it was sincere...you could tell. She appreciated it..and Patti did what she always does. She showed out..

Aretha sang this song so wonderfully that anything in that song cannot be commented. It was just perfect in soulful voice and interpretation. Patti, though, has also done well. Her voice is magical but some of the songs is a bit oversung. Though, that's the minor point. I still think that Patti is magic. She captivates the audience and let them enjoy what is truly the most beautiful song ever written.

I love both singers, but Patti just does something in my soul!! It would be nice if people on here would just respect each other with their comments. Some of us are adults aren't we? Aretha and Patti have done things and broken through where some of us black folks could only imagine. So give respect where respect where respect is due!! All the bad language proves no point at all, just that you know how to use it.

But I also know that Patti is capable of scating, running and everything else that she's accused of not being able to do vocally by the haters. Patti gives 150% every time, she just gives it all. Aretha is more controlled but will pull off her wig on stage too if she feels like it. Same with Patti... if she feels like it, she will be gentle and controlled. The reality, they both do what they want because they can, because they both have earned it.
