Most of sibi malayil - lohitadas films are quite good. But unfortunately can't find versions with subtitles for most of them. Now that many old films are getting remastered and rereleased, I am hopeful we will get some version soon which you can watch

This is especially impressive given Mohanlal isn’t a trained dancer. So this “sagara sangamam” moment would’ve come as a surprise even for the Malayalee audience.
Each states has specific classical dance forms in india, starting with bharat natya, the south indian , then kathak the north indian , then manipuri the north eastern and concludes with village folk dance, which the farmers used to perform in the time of harvest.

Watch this movie for sure.. You will not get disappointed. And this song has an important role in this storyline as well. You need to watch the movie to really understand the meaning. Both the heroines in this movie are trained classical dancers.
Go for Pravahame from Sargam if some of these semi-classical music scratches your itch. The movie itself is a skip but for a perfect soundtrack and one seizing of an opportunity by Manoj K Jayan

Although Mohanlal is not a trained dancer, he has managed to make it look decent..
The director and especially the Cinematographer have used some trick shots and used another actor when showing only his leg movement..
Also Mohanlal lacks expression when doing these dance moves and that is very jarring ..
His body seems to a bit stiff and dance movement lacks finesse and grace in many of the shots and that shows that he isnt trained ..
This scene seems similar to the one from Sagara Sangamam movie wherein post Kamal Hassan's character who is a reporter critiques a dancer is told to exhibit his talent if he is so well informed..
Kamal Haasan Sir's performance/dance in that scene and movie is one of the best in Indian Cinema..
