A thought occurs! You could use Codebreaker codes to max out Wander's grip then attempt the 'hawk hump' to get to the top of the temple! It's cheating, but then again so is using the turbo controller.

You can interact with all the wildlife in the game except the butterflies. This includes...small hawks, large hawks, seagulls, doves, turtles, bats, fish. You can also interact with many of the small & large trees by climbing them. After all this time you probably know this by now, but just in case you didn't I thought I'd mention it.
This makes me question how some people are partners I assume and they have video game footage that they clearly don't own...how do they stay a partner?

Man what a shame Ueda left the garden so incomplete, like, you can see the glimpses of what it should have been, that it was intended to see the Dormin hole and higher parts of the temple by going through a specific route ;(
@OldManNemesis Good point... I don't remember seeing demo specific codebreaker codes, only codes for the NTSC version. I can't even upload a memory card file as the save stones crash the game. I'll look into making my own Codebreaker codes, then someone can test them to see if they work.

Is the OPM demo the same as the demo that's on the Jampack demo disc? I was asking because the headless girl statue is in the demo that's included on the Jampack demo disc. I still have fond memories of playing that demo to death exploring every inch of the map that was allowed. I was well prepared to beat that first colossus when the full game finally released. :)
Just wondering! At 4:40, there is a thin staircase edging off the unrendered... edge. Can that be walked on (possible dodge rolling under?) This is a really neat find. Haha. All these versions of SOTC start to get confusing though
I'm sure it would as it works in the PAL version I think... it's the turbo controller that makes the glitch happen but you can't get to Dormin's hole in the PS3 version and the temple isn't solid like the demos.
I think the Game Devs put all this stuff in just to mess with us Seriously, think about it: There's no Rhyme or Reason as to what most of the stuff is here for, there's no indication of a room those hidden stairs could lead to, the Desert "Rings" are just there for decoration most likely, as there's no explanation to why they're even there, and it's never said who built them in the first place, Phalanx couldn't have made them, he/she/it doesn't even have arms let alone hands, and I sincerely DOUBT aliens had anything to do with it. And the mountains, oh boy the mountains, it's such a MESS, why on earth would the Devs put in a half rendered mountainous area in the game, instead of just fully rendering it, or better yet: TAKING THEM OUT considering we wouldn't even acknowledge their existence through a normal playthrough Come to think of it, there's no explanation for most of the unrendered or unfinished stuff left in the game, for instance, the Dam in the game, the only water you see in the game is when you fight the "Eel Colossus" and Avion, so what use would a dam have? And I doubt it would be to hold a Colossus captive, because honestly, dams aren't built overnight. Colossi are dim, but I'm fairly certain that it would notice hundreds of small humans building a giant wall in front of it. I'm sure there are hundreds of holes in my theory, but that's just what I think
The Colossi were created through magic to bind pieces of Dormin's soul by the ancestors of Wander's people. They probably came from a high civilization that once populated the great expanse of the game area, and were the builders of the temples, etc. These glitches, Beta mountain, desert rings were unfinished development that would have been used for the complete 24 Colossi, had Ueda and his team managed to create them. But due to budget and time constraints, these were abandoned and most likely those unfinished area would just simply left there due to costs. I think there was a final interview with Ueda, and he mentioned there were a couple of easter eggs in the game, and the biggest one was really being able to access the Secret Garden (and eat the fruits in there). The desert ring most likely would have been part of the puzzle to kill the Worm colossus, and the Dam might be a boss area for the Spider? It's a pity this game ends with such a sad note.
how happened with Wander die in the final? He's back a human again? Dormin's get back a semi -god again? Or die him? Is that MY POSSIBLE ALTERNATIVE END I wait a answer :-)
SuperFastGuy7 It's common for game devs to leave unfinished code in their games. They don't leave it with the intention of messing with people, they assume most wont even know its there and honestly only hardcore fans end up finding this stuff anyways.

I mean... the game was apparently only really 1/3 the size it was originally planned to be. we'll probably never find out just what all that other 2/3 of the game was supposed to be. I mean there are so many things in the game with no visible purpose and yet.... they feel as though they have a reason to be there. IE they had reasons for being created and added to the game. Reasons that didn't make it into the game.
keep in mind tht the ENTIRE environment was made by Japan Studio. they also did the environment for ico, demons souls and the dark souls series. its also the reason why so much from the 6 games looks like its reused assetts from said games, because it is. chances are team ico told them it was gonna be this awesome massive game with an extremely detailed world full of secrets, and then forgot to tell them "oh. we lied. its actually just a big completely empty world with only 16 other entities in it."
@MisterPikol Yeah, the stairs in your video are a little further down and behind the wall from the one's Eternalclaw found. Eternalclaw's stairs only appear in the demos - I checked, and in the final version they are invisible.

You were probably playing the PSU demo which came out after the OPM demo. There are a lot of differences between the demos as in this early stage of development everything was fluid, changes happened on a daily basis, so from demo to demo to final release there are a multitude of changes.
I haven't been able to jump into Dormin's Hole except in the PS2 demo. However, in the released version of the game, the hole is physically there. If you push down on the thumb controller when the hawk is leaving the garden during the end credits, you can see a little bit of the hole. As far as I know, there are only two ways to get to it without hacking the game. 1--get the controller that allows you to jump much higher than you can normally. 2--ride ( hump ) a bird until you are able to get high enough to drop down into the area where the hole is. Again, you will need that controller that gives you extra abilities. I think Nomad Colossus has a video showing game play using that modified controller. If not, then there are videos other people have posted showing it.

That has been a feature in the game from PS2 to PS4. You can grab any bird including the doves near mono's altar.
