Wow, thanks mate! The switch was broken on my notebook so it won't turn on. Replaced and now it runs just fine.

Where did you get a new switch for the motherboard? Does the swich have a part number, that I can search for?

@@Christian8220 I never got a new switch, I desoldered the remains and left the gap open. The switch works in a way that it closes when you open the bottom of the Notebook and blocks it from turning on. When you close the bottom of the laptop, the switch opens and the laptop can turn on.
The little arm was broken off so it stayed permanently closed, preventing the laptop from turning on.
With removing the switch you have it permanently open so the laptop can turn on even with the bottom missing theoretically.
The laptop worked fine until I sold it a couple of weeks ago, my new ThinkPad P51 has this switch also, so remember, this can happen to any model xD

@@JoJoGaminG36 Oh okay. Thank you for your reply. I tried to hold down the switch and then plug the power in, however it does not work. When I plug power in, the LED indicator does not light up. So, I guess it’s a motherboard issue. I was able to turn it on when there was power on the battery. So, it seems like it doesn’t want to accept power. The charger has been tested with another laptop.

Thanks, It is now working . The most incredible is that the led just near the dc plug didn´t light and I thought it was motherboard error! THANKS

It's been a year but just so anyone else comes across this - if you pause it at 2:58, I think it is the black thing poking out of a silver tiny square kinda of in the bottom center of the screen, it feels more like a leaver than a switch

hey, I noticed that my pin was also gone, then I stick it with glue and now light in the power button working, but only for like six seconds and then it’s turning off again. Sometimes it blinks few times and thats it. I have tried so many times, but I have the same issue. I really hope there is anything that can fix my issue. thanks

You should be able to locate the switch like on the video. It is next to the CMOS.Try to hold it down and then plug the PSU in the laptop and try to power it on.
